  1. Becky Hogan making the trending topics on Xwitter is funny tho
  2. My GOAT Cyclops finally being acknowledged
  3. After having one of their all-time great shows - even in face of another terrible Jericho match - it is with a very heavy heart that I must say that MJF is not at all necessary to AEW's main eent scene. I am not looking forward to a match between him and Ospreay.
  4. Samoa Joe restored the feeling. What a guy.
  5. I'd be sweating a bit if I were Swerve and saw Ospreay getting that over that fast. Him beating Joe tonight makes all sense in the world, but so would Ospreay getting that big babyface W.
  6. Jericho laying an egg on PPV once again. Love to see it!
  7. Turning Okada heel was an inspired choice, bubbas.
  8. He's become the Doc Hendrix to the new generation of Hardy Boyz. Hell no.
  9. Tony D is the protector of women everywhere. Canonically, he offed Gulak for the good of the industry.
  10. And it can't be understated how much Gunther elevated the IC belt. I guess Rollins' WHC arc ended up paying off in terms of storyline drama, but still, the top belt there was Gunther's.
  11. Solid episode. At least you heat up Liv Morgan in this process and you'll crown a new champ ASAP. Also, this new direction just fucking highlights how much Kevin Dunn sucked ass. Nice transitions between segments, different angles, non-seizure inducing cuts... That guy sucks ass.
  12. That one infuriates me. I didn't even like Bray Wyatt as an in-ring performer but that match was just... fine? It had club lights and a nice build to it (LA Knight carried it so damn hard). To even nominate that was such bullshit.
  13. Getting the band back together would be alright, but I hope they do something different. Like, the Uncle Kracker gimmick itself sucks ass, and now it would remind us of a well-liked wrestler who passed away too soon. It is a very professional wrestling thing to do, though. Bo is more than capable of doing other things - his NXT title run proves that.
  14. On that same token, though: it's not *just* that Austin was too expensive, but Taker was just too cheap to pass. He was out there being laughed at by Cristiano Ronaldo on a Al-Nassr pre-game event, how much you think he was asking for a run-in like that? Probably peanuts.
  15. I think part of HOOK's presentation hurt his progress. He's good at showing that "never say die" aspect of a babyface as evidenced in his miracle match against Samoa Joe, but him casually no-selling bumps just doesn't work, I don't think it ever worked for me. Now, if he can learn with Ilja Dragunov how to properly sell an ass-beating...
  16. HOOK is rumored to become a free agent once his contract expires. While I don't think he's anything special, at least it seems he would fit better in NXT. Dude is just tired of working with Jericho.
  17. Punk was actually saying the truth and only look cooler because right after that he was having the best match on AEW's biggest live event ever. When people think about that All-In, they'll think about Punk.
  18. I think this post is a great one. I think he's a bit like Orton as well, but also in some more positive aspects. I believe, like others have mentioned, that he has some great and fluid signature spots like his dropkicks, both the standard (which Orton also used to do pretty well) and the John Woo one. Also, he is capable of inserting the Rainmaker into various situations in ways that don't make the match very truncated. I'd argue that Orton is a smoother wrestler, though.
  19. Wouldn't be shocked it they just show part of the real thing and they just do a spoof, reintroduce Pack Jerry as their newest pal, and then start talking about how those FTR thugs are still associated with that villain Charles Martinet Punk, and how they are going to finish the job Jumping Jack started and clean AEW of all evil.
  20. What's up with commentary swearing like sailors nowadays? Also, AOP vs Frazier/Axiom could be some good shit.
  21. IVAR VS OBA FEMI?????? Holy shit.
  22. Nah, I don't think it's the majority. In fact, I'd wager most of us enjoyed her. But shit, she was getting emotional for TWO historical title reigns being over, with beloved babyface figures getting crowned. It enhanced the emotions, for sure. Like, I believe most historic moments in wrestling, whether they took place in the USA or Japan or Mexico or Europe, featured some sort of commentary that enhanced what was happening on the screen. To have the ring announcer be that invested in what went down was some fresh stuff.
  23. - In terms of purely in-ring action, Iyo/Bayley was my favorite match of the two nights. Rhea/Becky was already a good bout, but the two of them were just working on a different level than almost everybody. Crowd was super into it, and it was *just* 16 minutes long. Felt longer, in the best of ways. - I think Austin turned it down, plain and simple. Besides, Undertaker is the one guy you can have teleport in and out of the ring without people paying too much attention, and the gong is as iconic. Stone Cold would need to drive his quad bike down the ramp, brawl, and then hit a Stunner. Would take too much away from the match, I think. - Agreed. However, in terms of storyline beats, he was great. The height of his career and it was a weekend where he got owned four times.
  24. https://variety.com/2024/tv/news/wrestlemania-40-records-broken-wwe-1235964608/ WM40's gate was up SEVENTY EIGHT PERCENT compared to WM39, which was itself a record-setter. That's insane.
  25. Miz tagging in John Cena. Truly, it's a new era.
