It's the final NXT of the Iron Cross, Skulls and Wings era! Fuck you Triple H! Nickelodeon Power is where it's at!
-
Yeah they were preventing Bryan from leaving back when he announced his retirement, instead accomodating him in whatever role they could get, just to say he wasn't a big loss... Probably denial. Like that dril tweet that's like "'I'm not owned!', I scream while slowly turning into a corncob"

I remember hating that tag despite the Festival of Friendship being a fucking killer segment.

Funny thing, there seems to be this idea in Brazil that Jericho is THE actual greatest of all time which is fucking weird

Sting was always cooler if we are honest. Trips needed HBK and Chyna to be seen as cool and even then he was the 3rd coolest person in OG DX. If we count X-Pac, Billy Gunn and Road Dogg, he comes in 5th place. Sting was a bodacious dude who became The Crow. His finger was on the pulse.

Main event is very nice. Could really do without Gallows and Anderson, or even Don Callis later on, but it was effective, with a great kickout, and a great finish to drive things home. Post-match angle... it was great, besides some bloated things. I guess we'll get Bryan/Christian/Jurassic Express vs The Elite (now with Cole!) rather soon (or did they confirm it?). Easy, easy watch. No real rough spots, and the lack of a high-end match means absolutely NOTHING when the crowd is having the time of their lives with MANY debuts being positioned throughout the card. And look, Bryan looks happy, but I hope he slowly ditches some thing from his WWE days which are STILL very fresh. First thing to let go is his theme (fucking horrendous remix). The Yes chants are not going to go away, but I wanna see him bust out those MMA elbows, Cattle Mutilation and whatnot. Just be a mean(er) cunt.

QT Marshall, thank you. Dunno where I got Smith from. Maybe because I forgot Kevin James' name and "Smith" was in my head. But he's a good trainer, based on what y'all are talking. Not sure if he can have any role other than "guy who's in breather matches", but if he can contribute on the progression of other wrestlers, he's a net positive.
-
Paul Wight is easily one of the greatest (heh) to ever do it, man. His match against this Alex Jones/Kevin James fusion called QT Smith was fun. He's nearly 50 and can still move despite knee problems.

I mean she just was the MVP at the Casino Battle Royale. Shame she lost to Ruby.

Oh, I mean trying to wrestle in the same pace as Omega. Of course they can have a good match, but Punk should not try to match Kenny's freakish pace. Again, a workrate marathon.

That's fine and all, bubbas. It really puzzled me Jericho blatantly using a foreign object while they were going back to the ring after fighting in the crowd. I was wondering what that was all about, but with the clarification, the match itself makes more sense! It's still not something I'd call good or anything, but it was an easy watch. CM Punk couldn't have chosen a better wrestler to make his return. Allin was just flying around, taking ridiculous bumps on irish whips, dives, just about everything. They milked as much as they could out of the small things, which is good. No need for Phil to overdo it or anything. Unlike bubba @strobogo, I don't think he's that broken down, but things really did change in those 7 years. It feels like there is some jetlag, but at the same time I don't expect him to have a workrate marathon with someone like Omega or Cole - nor he should, tbh.

The crowd was just unwilling to let anything ruin the night and hijacked that fucking horrible Jericho entrance. There is a fool with a Benoit Club shirt oh my God Best worker of the match by far was ref Aubrey. MJF can talk, but he is not engaging in the ring, and Jericho is just too old, bloated, and broken to make a difference at this point. The fact they decided to start with a slow methodical pace when this is a blood feud just makes things even weirder. Why wasn't this no DQ, even? Well, at least this means Jericho won't be on the commentary booth!

Casino Match was not good, some really WEIRD decisions, but Ruby Soho trumps all that. Having her and Thunder Rosa (aka one of the top three talent in AEW) as the final two was a smart call. Love 'em both. Just let Ruby beat Baker for the title, really. Gimme a lengthy feud with Thunder Rosa. I dunno, Ruby feels like the biggest acquisition. Yeah, Bryan is possibly the best wrestler on the planet and he has new heads to kick in, but AEW's women's division needed more of a spark.

Outrageous real-life heeling it up

Oh, so he finally admitted that. Football is the sport with the biggest numbers of heels. Worth noting that hiding razor blades wasn't necessarily a rare practice. South American tournaments were... unique. -
Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4

You guys figure he could wrestle under the name of El Dragón Americano? -
Lucha Bros vs Young Bucks was very good! They almost lost me near the end with those cute superkick and kip up sequences, but it was thankfully just a fraction of the match. YB have some overly choreographed sequences, but it felt toned down in this match. The violence was earned and some nearfalls, despite verging on overkill, indeed were effective. Fuck those corny vocalizations, tho. "See you in hell" dude sounds like an anime character what is this. But hey, those thumbjack Jordans were a perfect balance of goofy and viciousness. Rey Fenix is great, Pentagon is great, the YB are good as ultra obnoxious fucks (although I'm not sure if their complete lack of swag is intentional), cute shit was toned down, and we had a great match. Crowd, of course, was losing their shit over this from bell to bell.

Statlander vs Britt Baker was okay, but it was the first time the crowd felt less than smouldering hot. The action was slow at points and maybe the crowd needed a breather, but at the same time they weren't going to just sit on their hands. They know it's a big event. They are the MVP of the night, quite frankly. The finish is nice tho, with Britt busting out that stupid Panama Sunrise and all of her finishers in a row just to keet Statlander down. Made her look really resilient, even though I wish she could've done more.

I get that. It's my biggest criticism. Fucking Nattie and Tamina getting their asses handed on the regular and not dropping the title is another one.

The heels got the luck of the draw, The New Day went the fucking distance and had just an amazing showing. I dunno, but this episode being centered around like 4 matches felt different. RAW is on a roll! Three straight weeks of decent shows!!

OH SHIT BIG BOBBY LASHLEY VS OMOS LET'S FUCKING GO
-
Omos fucking rocks. Does he know how to do a chokeslam or a powerbomb? Does he need to, even? He's fucking around being great by doing the bare fucking minimum.
-
One of these days Reggie is going to bust out a standing 630
-
New Day having a career night and think of the ground that covers. Easily, EASILY the best team ever.
-
Fucking Alexa managing to get ZINGERS while working that shitty gimmick is a wonder

Nia vs Charlotte was good?!?!
