  1. Ladd seems to have Dibiase cornered but the Million Dollar Man slithers out by say he only hired Alofa AFTER he attacked Roberts. But Dibiase is walking a fine line. Speaking of Million Dollar Inc, The Barbarians finally get their tag title shot but Hercules & Steiner are ready to fight. Fernandez is exactly the kinda guy you'd expect to see in Mid-South. Reed issues a stern warning to the Snowman. Williams keeps his momentum up. Rick survives Vader and even managed to fight off Gilbert. The TV champ is looking strong.
  2. The ladies bring the intensity in their first match. The American & Weiss have a good, clean match which the masked man takes. Zebra Kid takes the opportunity to scope out the competition. The Plowboy may not have been able to make it but Pat Rose made a great substitute.
  3. Uncle Ivan unleashes his Pitbulls on WCW and alongside Race & Orton make a formidable anti-Rhodes coalition. Dream isn't backing down though and throws down a challenge for World at War. Since it's Haku I have to ask, you're using "kills" metaphorically right? The Rockers aren't ducking the Tower's but they are waiting till the money's right. I'm sure Slick can respect that. Los Conquistadors take advantage of Benoit touring Japan. Ware gets a showcase and Savage is looking for Steamboat. Interesting scene with Snuka and Kamala. Hayes may be alone for now but he's got some big plans.
  4. Vegas Vengeance is here! Christopher & Perez start night 1 with an exciting exhibition. Dustin almost had it but Payne was a little too crafty. Owen & PCO may not have been in the tournament but they still get a big tag team win. Speaking of which, The Lethal Weapons, Malenko Brothers, Southern Boys and Hollywood Vampires all advance. The Demon gets another win on Hughes who finds himself ejected from RPG's crew. Barr & Guerrero bring some gold to the Wild Things. Looks like Flowers called in a favor to grab the TV title. The rise of the Cheetah Kid is complete as he captures the ultimate prey, the Light Heavyweight championship. Night 2 begins with a big win for the Force. The Midnights finally got payback on the Destruction Crew. Furnas may have lost but he gets a nod of respect from Mr Backlund. Neidhart & St Clair beat the tar outta each other with The Anvil just getting the win. Haynes puts a exclamation point on a horrible two nights for RPG. The Beast & The Animal try to tear each other apart leaving nothing settled. Undertaker lays Lee to rest. The Malenko's disarm the Lethal Weapons. The Southern Boys survive the night against the Hollywood Vampires. The SCS hit the jackpot. Flowers didn't waste time paying Rose back. The Southern Boys are 500k richer and are easily first in line for a tag title shot. The Widowmaker brings the Pacific Heavyweight Title to the Neighborhood of Evil. What a great two nights of wrestling!
  5. Good idea having your dark match feed into your opening segment. Ensures a hot start. Rose is easily the favorite but Renesto shouldn't be overlooked. Women's wrestling is coming to Arkansas. What a shocker! Zebra Kid cheats Michaels out of the tournament. Ash's reaction is curious.
  6. Another exciting win for Too Hot Torpedo... wait. I know that when I think of good Christian wrestling my mind immediately goes to the Dirty White Boy. But seriously I think he's a dark horse in the Southern Heavyweight Title tournament. Though Dick Slater would definitely argue that point. Big Money Marcus may not have anything to say but he's certainly got people talking. Double J promises to do daddy proud. Rip Rogers has absolutely become a highlight of your weekly TV show. The stuff with Vanna White cracked me up. Major hype for the six man main event next week. Horner's confident in his & Brad's mystery partner but if I were him I might keep an eye out for the Hustler.
  7. Roberts & Ellering are (understandably) convinced that Dibiase hired the Beast that attacked Roberts. Dibiase says he didn't but Ladd says if he lying, he loses his title! Meanwhile Snowman seems to let Woman off the hook by saying he just wants a job. Ladd getting called a Uncle Tom shouldn't have been that funny. The Texas Outlaws are back & meaner than ever with Stan Hansen. After weeks of buildup, Rick finally gets the boot from Hot Stuff Inc. Thankfully his brother is there to help him up.

  9. From the Civic Center in Roanoke Virginia. Previously recorded airing on 4/8/88 on the USA Network. On Commentary: Gordon Solie. Ring announcer/Interviews: Sean Moony Match #1 Billy Joe Travis vs "Gigelo" Jimmy Del Ray w/Precious with the "Just a swingin" neckbreaker. Match #2 Black Bart defeats Glenn Quagmire with the "Texas Trash Compactor". Sean Moony: Ladies and gentlemen welcome back to the National Wrestling Alliance, "Chief" Wahoo McDaniel! *Wahoo comes down to a warm welcome from the Mid-Atlantic faithful* SM: Wahoo I think I speak for a lot of people here when I say welcome back to the NWA. WM: Thank you Sean it's great to be back here and especially in a city like Roanoke where I've had some of the best matches of my career. SM: Ya know I called you Chief during my introduction but as our fans are aware, there's another man who considers himself the Chief of the NWA. I'm speaking of course of one Joe Lightfoot. WM: Sean I know you don't mean anything by it but everytime I hear the word Chief being said in regards to Joe Lightfoot, it turns my stomach. Ya see folks there's more to being a Chief than getting to wear a fancy headdress. A Chief is supposed to be a leader of his people, the one who they can come to in their times of need for wisdom and guidance. A Chief is supposed to care for those who can't care for themselves, delaying his own meal until he's made sure the widows and orphans received theirs. And when his people are threatened, a Chief rides out at the head of the war party to face the danger head on, he doesn't go around attacking good men like Tom McGee and try to end his career. A Chief is expected to act with honor and integrity, things you clearly don't know anything about Joe Lightfoot! I came back to the NWA for one reason, you remove the stain of the title of Chief placed on it by Joe Lightfoot and show this people how a real Chief is supposed to act. Match #3 "Chief" Wahoo McDaniel defeats Big Bully Benson with the "Tomahawk" chop. After the bell, Joe Lightfoot ran down and jumped Wahoo sparking a brawl which security had to break up. Match #4 The Zero Fighters (Keiichi Yamada & Hiroshi Hase) vs Paul Jones Army Matt Borne The Great Kabuki) w/"Number One"' Paul Jones after Kabuki accidentally sprayed Borne with the Myst allowing Hase to roll him up. Match #5 "The Gatekeeper" Jimmy Golden defeats The Masked Patriot with a Piledriver. Before his match, Ron Garvin says Jimmy and his "floozy" may have stolen the win in Norfolk but their family feud is far from over. Match #6 "Rugged" Ron Garvin defeats "Merciless" Lord Kruger with the "Hands of Stone" punch. Main Event. Tully Blanchard & Col Debeers w/JJ Dillon & Jr Foley defeated NWA World Heavyweight Champion "Nature Boy" Ric Flair & NWA United States Champion Bruiser Brody. Brody and Debeers brawled around ringside while Dillon distracted the ref allowing Foley to get in the ring and hit Flair with the South African flag as Flair was setting up the figure four. Dillon lets the ref go in time to see Blanchard make the cover and three seconds later, Tully Blanchard has pinned the world champion.
  10. Venomous gets their groove back in the dark match. Grizz felt the absence of his manager tonight. Starr on the other hand, shows he can go it alone. Oliver proves he's the premier Crippler in the AWA. Busick gets the DQ win but I gotta feeling this isn't done yet. The Fortune Ones bring it home for the Gagne Gang. WrestleRock 88! Aww yeah! The Warrior makes the Ultimate debut. Thanks to Lanny Poffo, we know have to suffer through Larry 2 belts. DJ doesn't seem to approve of how Vin Man retained the tag titles. Love Nikita hitting the belly to belly on Adams. Brown survives a war with Colon with his title in tact.
  11. Z-Man pops the crowd with what I consider to be a big upset. Alas, Ace has no such luck against Kamala. Bam Bam defangs the Predator. Ware had his working boots on but Muta' Myst saves the title. There's definitely more coming for Konnan & Benoit vs Los Conquistadors. Race & co may have lost their Predator but they picked up a wiley Russian Bear. The Rockers survive the Bees but The Towers may prove to big a challenge. Snuka wins the battle of the journeymen. A somewhat ugly main event ends with the faces standing tall and Hayes & Gordy perhaps taking up old arguments.
  12. NWA Live @ the Norfolk Scope in Norfolk Va on 4/6/88. "Hangman" Bobby Jaggers defeats Barry O with the "Hangman's" neckbreaker. "The Doctor of Desire Tom Prichard defeats "The Monster" Rip Morgan w/Jr Foley by DQ when Morgan refused to break a choke before reffer Nick Patrick counted to 5. (The next match was advertised as a rematch between Tom McGee and Joe Lightfoot. However it's announced over the house mic that due to his leg injury, McGee couldn't make it. However a suitable replacement has been found. A buzz goes throughout the arena which erupts in cheers as WAHOO MCDANIEL makes his way to the ring.) "Chief Joe Lightfoot vs "Chief" Wahoo McDaniel ends in a double countout. NWA United States Tag Team Titles. The New Breed (Chris Champion & Sean Royal)(c) defeat NWA Special Forces (Ranger Ross & Commando Boone) with the "Wave of the Future" on Ross. NWA Heritage Title. "Pitbull" Kerry Brown defeats "Tennessee Stud Robert Fuller by count-out when Fuller walked away with the title. "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin w/Precious defeats "Rugged" Ron Garvin when Precious sprayed Ron in the face with hairspray. NWA United States Title. Bruiser Brody(c) defeats David "Fit" Finlay w/Jr Foley with the "King Kong" Knee Drop.
  13. NWA Live @ the Timken Gym Limestone College in Gaffney SC on 4/4/88. Radiance (Jimmy Del Ray & Chic Donavon) (no Precious) defeat two local talents with a double flapjack. Tom Brandi defeats The Brooklyn Brawler with a inside cradle. Billy Joe Travis defeats The Mongolian Mauler with the "Just a swingin" neckbreaker "World's Strongest Man" Bill Kazmaier defeats "Dandy Don Bass with a running powerslam. NWA World Six Man Tag Team Titles. The Celestial Trinity (Zodiac, Jason the Terrible & Angel of Death)(c) defeat The Renegade Warriors (Chris & Mark Youngblood) & "The Haitian Sensation" Tyree Pride when Zodiac pinned Pride with a loaded headbutt.
  14. NWA re-releases Tom McGee and re-signs Billy Joe Travis effective 4/3.
  15. Taped at Center Stage Theater before Main Event. Originally airing on 4/2/88 on the USA Network. On Commentary: Bob Caudle David Crockett. Super Strong Machine defeats the debuting Mongolian Mauler with the "Machine Lariat" David "Fit" Finlay w/Jr Foley defeats Stoney Burke with the "Tombstone Piledriver" "Rugged" Ron Garvin defeats The Brooklyn Brawler with the "Hands of Stone" punch. Crockett Cup qualifying match. The Moondogs Rex Spot w Number One Paul Jones defeat The Zero Fighters by c.o when Kabuki came down & sprayed Hase with the Myst and he couldn't answer the count. In other news.... News from Mid-South Wrestling in Louisiana as Ernie Ladd had agreed to send two tough tag teams to the Crockett Cup. First up are the Mid-South Tag Team Champions Hercules Hernandez and Scott Steiner. Hernandez is a well traveled journeyman while Steiner is a prodigy who has been wowing fans and industry experts alike. And the second team promises even more physicality as Sheikh Adnan Al-Kassie presents Nord & Kongs, The Barbarians! Commentary also reveal that in addition to the final two teams being announced, they'll also be able to reveal the entire first round bracket for the Crockett Cup!
  16. From Center Stage in Atlanta Ga. Previously recorded airing on 4/1/88 on the USA Network. On Commentary: Gordon Solie. Ring announcer/Interviews: Sean Moony. Match #1 "The Haitian Sensation" Tyree Pride vs "Rotten" Ron Starr An back and forth clash of styles to open the show. Pride lands the Flying bodypress but Starr roles through and grabs a handful of tights to steal the win. Match #2 "The British Magician" Steve Wright defeats "Wild Man" Willy Starks with the "Octopus hold" Before her teams match, Jimmy Garvin joins Moony to announce that he has decided that the coming show in Norfolk will be the city where he removes the embarrassment on the Garvin family name that is Ron once and for all! Match #3 Radiance (Jimmy Del Ray & Chic Donavon) defeat Rocky Rickaby & Calvin "Freckle" McMurray with a double flapjack on Rickaby. Match #4 Tom "MegaMan" McGee vs "Chief" Joe Lightfoot McGee requested his rematch after Lightfoot's behavior two weeks ago. Thankfully this time referee Theodore Long gets the "War Club" away from Lightfoot before McGee gets in the ring. Lightfoot argues with Long allowing McGee to rush him. MegaMan pinballs the self-appointed Chief around the ring but eventually a shot to the leg turns the tide. Lightfoot wraps the injured leg in the ropes and is brutally stomping on it. Long tries to get Lightfoot to get McGee out of the ropes causing Lightfoot to shove Long away causing a disqualification. Lightfoot isn't done yet as he throws McGee to the floor where he delivers a shinbreaker on the steps. He then places the injured leg between the steps and the post and kicks the steps. McGee is howling in agony as security finally arrives and drags Lightfoot away so McGee can be put on the stretcher. Match #5 "The Doctor of Desire" Tom Prichard defeats Mordecai Heller with a Super Kick. (As Prichard is heading to the back, Jr Foley is leading Rip Morgan to the ring and the two bump into each other. Prichard is content to keep walking but Morgan grabs him, spins him around and gets right in his face. It looks like they might come to blows but Foley interjects and guides his client to his waiting vict...ahem... opponent) Match #6 "The Monster" Rip Morgan w/Jr Foley demolished "Big" Hoss Magraw with three chokeslans only one of which was actually necessary. Main event. "Pitbull" Kerry Brown & "World's Strongest Man" Bill Kazmaier vs The Stud Stable (Robert Fuller & Jimmy Golden) A hard-hitting tag team main event. The Studs obviously have the experience as a team but the combined power & toughness of Brown & Kazmaier let them hang in there. The end sees Brown setting Fuller up for a Powerbomb only for Tough Guy Inc to rush the ring. This summons the Special Forces and the show goes off the air to the sight of a pier-six brawl between the two sides.
  17. NWA releases Billy Joe Travis to resign Tom McGee.
  18. First up Oakland. The Southern Boys get tuned up for the Moondog Mayne Memorial Tournament. The Monster madhes The Demon. A victory over Candido gives Rhodes a boost ahead of his match with Payne. The Wild Things are charging into their title match at full speed. The Widowmaker floors Furnas. Bret can't be to focused on Sawyer with Flowers right around the corner. Onwards to San Francisco. The DC wreck the Guns. Perez taps out Spicoli. Haynes wins a slugfest with Payne. The Animal wounds St Clair. The Playboy Club pick up a win against their injured opposition. Continuing the theme of people fighting injured, a one armed Hennig retains against Hughes. Finally, Fresno. Neidhart chokes out a game Christopher. Owen and PCO keep climbing the ranks. The Bulldozer flattens the Vampire Warrior. Furnas corrects course against Bull Pain. The Malenko Brothers take British Steel to the limit. Pillman with another exciting defense over Lynn.
  19. The thought of Schavonie paired up with a heel DDP cracks me up. Between the Towers & the Bees, The Rockers have some tough times ahead. Race & his boys look to take out the competition before the Clash. Muta lets his actions do the talking against Ware. Ace and Zenk are bravely heading into their battles with the monsters. Snuka vs Orton should be a old school classic. T, Savage & Steamboat are all pumped for the Badstreet Brawl. But the Freebirds will be in their element. No idea what Los Conquistadors just said but I'm betting it pissed Konnan off! Bigelow shines in the main event.
  20. Looking forward to crowning the first International Tag Team Champions.
  21. The American getting a patriotic win to get the crowd going. Renesto wears down the big man. DJ must be really happy she signed Knighton. Like the finish to the main event. Riggins looks gutsy while the Headhunter looks dangerous.
  22. It really was Knighton's episode. His new mean streak advances him in the tournament and his new alliance with Dark Journey and the Terrors could take him the rest of the way. I've been watching a show called Music City Wrestling where Prentice is a on-air personality and I think you've done a great job capturing his character even without writing dialogue. Between his temper and his somewhat problematic attitude towards women (by today's standards) I can easily picture him in my head in these scenarios. Rose spoils DJ's night by eliminating one of her Terrors. One step closer to his rematch with Ash.
  23. So many well built feuds, so many great matches. Champagne Slam is gonna rock!
  24. Nice looking belt.
  25. Really like the edit. Rogers looks impressive and Horner takes his loss like a man. And next week they go double or nothing.
