  1. 11 huge matches highlighted by a two huge rematches, a title vs title match and the Ultimate debut!
  2. Colon & Brown start the show with a pull-apart brawl. Jumbo & Fujinami are tuned up and ready for another run at the Crockett Cup. Adams is so confident, I'm starting to think he actually can beat Nikita this time. Griz puts a mauling on Putski. Charland looks to spoil the Ultimate debut while Chicky & Perez go head to head. I don't think we can handle Zbyszko as a double champion. Busick shows he can handle the numbers game. Perez & Synergy get a leg up on DDP's crew. The Bruise Brothers are looking to get their belts back! The show closes with a taste of the 10 man elimination tag coming at Champagne Slam.
  3. As is becoming his habit, Ladd starts us off with some big announcements. A special ref for the matches involving Woman's men and Hot Stuff Inc get their tag title shot. Speaking of the tag titles. The champs are ready for the fight and Scott is determined to get through to his brother. Woman didn't take long to come up with a plan. Duggan and Super D are ready to tear each other apart. Poffo with another win. Ladd gives Dibiase an ultimatum, show up in New Orleans or be stripped of your title. Luger fells the Goliath. Dibiase may not be present but the Million Dollar Corporation shows they're still a force to be reckoned with as they beat down Murdoch, JYD, Roberts and Ellering.
  4. Cool map. Though I'll point out that Ohio should be purple to as it's part of Den's territory but still a great job.
  5. Taped at the Asheville Civic Center before Main Event. Originally airing on 3/12/88 on the USA Network. On Commentary: Bob Caudle & David Crockett. Billy Joe Travis defeats The Pearl with the "Just a swingin" neckbreaker. "Maniac" Matt Borne w/"Number One" Paul Jones defeats George South with a "Stump Puller" Super Strong Machine defeats Punisher with the "Machine Lariat". Main event. "Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin w/Precious defeats "The Haitian Sensation" Tyree Pride after Precious pushes Pride off the top rope allowing Garvin to hit the Brainbuster. In other news.... Before his match Garvin cuts a promo saying that while Ron and "that dime store Jimmy Garvin knock off" only beat his proteges by sheer dumb luck, he's a crushingly handsome man of his word so Ron will get his one-on- one match but like everything else it runs on Jimmy Garvin time, meaning it'll happen when he's good & ready. Regarding the Crockett Cup, commentary excitedly announces the news from the AWA that not only will last year's winners, Jumbo Tsurata and Tatsumi Fujinami be entering once again but the AWA will be hosting a qualifying tournament to decide the other team. They also reveal the first qualifying match will take place next week when The Renegade Warriors take on Radiance.
  6. From the Asheville Civic Center in Asheville NC. Previously recorded & airing on 3/11/88 on the USA Network. On Commentary: Gordon Solie. Ring Announcer/interviews: Sean Moony. Match #1 "Hangman" Bobby Jaggers vs "The Monster" Rip Morgan w/Jr Foley Jaggers tried everything he could think of to put a dent in Foley's wildman but whatever he threw at the brute, Morgan kept coming back for more. Jaggers goes for his "Hangman's neckbreaker" but Morgan breaks free and delivers a stiff forearm to the back of Jagger's head. Jaggers staggers up and Morgan puts him right back down with a chokeslam for the 1..2...3. Match #2 Commando Boone defeats The Carolina Reaper with a big splash. After the match Boone joins Moony and says even though Frasier has been resigned to a top secret mission to deepest, darkest.... Arkansas he & Ranger Ross will continue to do Old Glory proud as the NWA's Special Forces. Match #3 Radiance (Jimmy Del Ray & Chic Donavon) w/Precious defeat Paul Blart & Ricky Bobby with a double flapjack on Bobby. Match #4 Tom "MegaMan" McGee vs "Chief" Joe Lightfoot As McGee is posing on the turnbuckle before the bell, Lightfoot runs over and whacks him in the back of the knee with his "War Club". The ref is hesitant to start the match but McGee insists. What follows is a bit hard to watch as while Megan is able to get some good shots in it only takes one shot to the leg for Lightfoot to retake control. Lightfoot finally applies the "Indian Death Lock" and though McGee struggles against it, the ref ultimately makes the call to end the match. Match #5. Non title. NWA United States Champion Bruiser Brody defeats Medical Bill with the "King Kong" Knee Drop. After the match, Brody cuts an intense promo directed at Debeers. Says he wouldn't wear all this fur and carry around a chain if he wanted to be hard to find. Says Debeers if free to step up whenever he's ready but better understand that when he does, he's going back to South Africa in pieces! Match #6 "Terrific" Terry Taylor w/JJ Dillon defeats Jive Owens with the "Five-arm". Main Event. "Pitbull" Kerry Brown & "World's Strongest Man" Bill Kazmaier vs Tough Guy Inc (Don Bass & Big Daddy Cyrus) w/Jimmy Golden Brown & Kazmaier both have issues with the Stud Stable and the two Canadian bruisers have decided to work together to take on the most recent additions to the group. We get a rough & tumble tag team brawl with Kazmaier continuing to impress as he repeatedly slams both his opponents. Jimmy Golden gets on the apron and starts yelling at the ref but he's unexpectedly pulled down by Steve Wright. The two start trading blows while in the ring, Cyrus is going for the 10 punches in the corner on Brown but the Pitbull turns it into a Powerbomb for the win!
  7. Love the idea to have Pro Wrestling Illustrated reporting on your show. Looks like a fun night in Jacksonville.
  8. Knighton seems to be getting fed up with his string of losses to Chris Michaels. Plowboy getting the win and having fun with kids. No wonder he retired from the Army. Papa-san and his savage leave Riggins a bloody mess. This feud has been a surprise hit. Ash & Rose go Broadway with Pat just missing out on the victory.
  9. Muta vs Snuka is a absolute dream match and I can see either man winning. Good idea keeping the Road Warriors and the Twin Towers apart until their big match at Triumph. Los Conquistadors seem keen to have Konnan keep his mask but it looks like he doesn't agree with their methods. Z-Man & Ace weren't the team I was expecting to win the battle royal but they've already gotten under the champs skins. Dusty and Spivey found the perfect partner in Bigelow. Mr T as the enforcer in the Triumph main event? I'm sure he and Hayes will get along great. Jack Brisco is on board. I smell something big.
  10. 2 out of 3 falls AND a cage? PCW is getting wild in Vegas.
  11. LA night 1. The revamped Golden Guns get a win in their first TV match. Starr taps out Hollywood John surely netting he & Scotty a title shot. Christopher's roll since joining Camp Cornette continues. St Clair & Neidhart just want to beat the hell outta each other, they can't be bothered with things like rules. Nice showcase for the Force. Mr Backlund has no patience for the Ladies Man. LA night 2. The Midnight/DC feud continues to heat up. PCO couldn't handle the Payne. Paul Bearer's newest Monster gets him another win. The elder Malenko gets flattened by The Bulldozer. Playboy Club using hair spray as a weapon makes perfect sense. Hart retains in a bloody Dog Collar match. Finally Santa Barbara. PCO brings victory home in the 8 man time. Neidhart capitalizes on the hurting Mr Backlund put on Perez. The Demon grabs the Bull by the horns. Furnas falls to the Widowmaker. Muscle Beach couldn't have been happy to see the Wild Things butt into their title match. Dean may know 1,000 holds but it's Pillman who gets the submission victory.
  12. Dutch is extra salty this episode & like it. Lukewarm Snake in the Grass LOL. Scorpio makes a exciting debut. Jeff Gaylord makes for a hurdle Douglas will have to clear to get back at Mantel. I don't know why but for some reason Big Money Marcus doesn't strike me as a Christian wrestler. Rip Rogers bringing the heat. Soldat returns to help his comrades put a beating on the Lightning Express but the Fab One arrives to even the odds.
  13. Busick brings the pop while Blackwell & Gagne bring the heat. Feeling sorry for Rice taking the belly to belly from Haystacks. Adams and Baby Doll build momentum ahead of the rematch with Nikita. Mean Streak lose the match but leave the Glamour Boys laying. Frenchy proves the deciding factor in the boot camp match. The Bruise Brothers vent on The Technicians. Chicky makes one mistake but that's all Perez needed for the win.
  14. Man this is cool.
  15. Nice touch with the dark match. You certainly managed to get a lot done in just a half hour. I'm impressed. Jamie Dundee looks to be his own man in Arkansas and he'll have his chance next week against a Terror. I'm loving Ash as the borderline delusional heel. Exciting end to the main event with the two teams in your biggest feud going at it. If I were watching this on TV I'd definitely be tuning on the following week.
  16. Larry Z throws out a huge challenge. Title vs Title at Champagne Slam. Idol doesn't hesitate to accept. Oliver is back and ready to show everyone who the REAL Crippler is. Austin's crew have some top contenders gunning for them but he's not sweating it. I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that I chuckled at Billy Jack Ass Strong. George does get the win but with Gagne's help. Morrow is putting together quite the card for Champagne Slam. Plus he announces the Toast to our Tag Teams Tournament, winners get a two week vacation and the second spot in the Crockett Cup! Kokina was bad enough under Ash but with Abbuda? He may be unstoppable. Nikita is healed up and ready to take Adam's head off. Vin Man has the tag champs on the same page.... for now. Johnny Rich decides Dream Machine is no friend of his. The Gagne Gang jump Los Guerreros before the match begins but they get some serious backup in Canek, Strong and Rich leading to a massive 10 man tag in Rochester.
  17. Michaels and Renesto get solid wins. Tojo and The Headhunter put a hurting on Dancing Wolf. How did The Terrors not see Plowboy coming?
  18. This is awesome!
  19. Reed earns a title shot in record time. I wonder what Williams thinks about this? I liked Woman & Luger running to Solie trying to get out of it. Roberts gets a rematch with Dibiase with the Shiek handcuffed at ringside. That is of course if the swelling in Ted's brain goes down in time SBS arrives with a win. Absolutely fire promo from Murdoch. The Barbarians better be ready for a fight. So Super Destroyer's going after Duggan was personal after all? So personal he costs Duggan a chance to regain the TV title. Speaking of which, Missy & Eddie are getting very blatant with their dissing of Steiner. Let's see how long the big guy takes it.
  20. Taped at the Georgia Mountain Center before Main Event. Originally airing on 3/5/88. On Commentary: Bob Caudle & David Crockett. "The Haitian Sensation" Tyree Pride defeats Scorpion with a Flying bodypress. "The Monster Rip Morgan w/Jr Foley defeats George South with a chokeslam. "Hangman" Bobby Jaggers defeats Tom Brandi with the "Hangman's" neckbreaker. Main Event. The Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Arn & Ole Anderson) w/JJ Dillon defeat The Renegade Warriors (Chris & Mark Youngblood) after Dillon distracted the ref while The Moondogs slid in the ring and hit the Renegade's with their bones. After the match, Dillon was seen handing a rather full looking envelope to Paul Jones. In other news... Commentary hype the return of the Crockett Cup which they announce will take place on April 15th & 16th. Night 1 will air on the USA Network from the Memorial Auditorium in Greenville SC while night 2 will air on Pay-Per-View from the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro NC. The winners will receive the Crockett Cup trophy as well as One Million Dollars. Promotions from across the country have been invited to send their teams and we'll tell you about them in the coming weeks. As for the NWA, six teams will be entered with three being determined in qualifying matches to take place on coming episodes e Worldwide. As for the three teams given automatic entry they are... NWA World Tag Team Champions The Rock n Roll Express. NWA United States Tag Team Champions The New Breed. and finally... Last year's runner ups The Minnesota Wrecking Crew!
  21. From the Georgia Mountain Center in Savannah Ga. Previously recorded & airing on 3/4/88 on the USA Network. On Commentary: Gordon Solie. Ring announcer & interviews: Sean Moony Match #1 Billy Joe Travis vs Barry O After taking a week off so the USA Network could air a special for Black History Month, the NWA is back with a bang. O's cocky preening irkes the fans while Travis'good ol'boy energy makes him a natural face which ensures a good pop when he takes the win via the "Just a swingin" neckbreaker. Match #2 Tough Guy Inc (Don Bass & Big Daddy Cyrus) defeat The Georgia Bulldogs with a double Lariat on Bulldog #1. After the match Tough Guy Inc as well as Jimmy Golden & the NEW NWA Heritage Champion Robert Fuller join Sean Moony at ringside. Fuller crows about being the last NWA World Television champion but especially being the first EVER NWA Heritage Champion. Says he used Brown's pointed head to carve his name in history. Says he's proud to announce that Tough Guy Inc is the newest subsidiary of the Stud Stable which is bigger & better than ever which he'll prove when he retains against that "over hyped circus performer" Bill Kazmaier in the main event. When asked what his role in the new Stud Stable is Golden just grins and says he & Robert have been watching each other's back's since they were knee high to a grasshopper and that's not changing anytime soon. Says anyone who wants a shot at Robert from here on out has to get through "The Gatekeeper" Jimmy Golden. Match #3 Ranger Ross defeats "Merciless" Joey Mercer with the "Combat kick". Match #4 "The Doctor of Desire" Tom Prichard vs "Rotten" Ron Starr Prichard made his shocking debut at SuperBrawl when he teamed with Ron Garvin against Radiance in a winning effort. Tonight he makes his NWA Main Event against a different Ron, Atlanta born journeyman Ron Starr. With his long hair and muscular physique Prichard certainly got the attention of the young women in the audience. Starr used every trick in his arsenal and managed to take control at a number of points but Prichard fought through it all to score his "Super kick" for his first single win in the NWA. Match #5 Col Debeers w/Jr Foley defeats Manuel "Macho" Comacho with the face first Piledriver. After the match Debeers grabs the house mic and announces that he has found a new mission in the NWA and that is to rescue the United States Title from that "flea ridden barbarian" Bruiser Brody and give so he can serve as an example what every American should strive to be. Debeers then shoves the mic back into Mooney's chest and leaves to a torrent of boos. Match #6 "Raging Bull" Manny Fernandez defeats The Soviet Super Soldier with the "Flying Burrito". Main Event. NWA Heritage Title. "Tennessee Stud" Robert Fuller(c) vs "World's Strongest Man" Bill Kazmaier Kazmaier is coming of a marquis win at SuperBrawl over Black Bart and is looking to turn his momentum into gold while Fuller seeks to avoid the indignity of losing his title on his first defense. The two go full tilt at each other producing a highly entertaining hoss fight of a main event. The end sees Kazmaier unloading on Fuller in the corner only for the ref to pull him back giving Fuller time to what many insist is him "loading up" his boot. Kazmaier breaks free from the ref and charges the champ who brings his boot up and it catches Kaz square on the jaw. The challenger goes down like a ton of bricks allowing Fuller to make the cover for his first successful defense. After the bell, the rest of the Stud Stable comes down and begin stomping away on Kazmaier until Kerry Brown runs down with a chair sending the heels into retreat.
  22. Five top teams meet next week to face The Rockers at Triumph. But not only are the champs not worried, they feel secure enough to throw shade at The Road Warriors. Speaking of whom, The Twin Towers send a powerful message to the International Tag Team Champions. Spivey and the Dream are bringing in a Storm to take on the King, the Ace and the Predator at Triumph. Koko gets a win over Sabu while Snuka holds off Taz. Konnan may have just gotten some backup. A star-studded main event sees Hayes get a pin on the World champion! That plus Savage & Gordy brawling all over the place and we've got a great sell for the big event.
  23. IPW is coming to TV. If it's anything like the house shows so far, we're looking at a hit.
  24. First Oakland. The Sin City Superstars win the battle of restructured tag teams. St Clair is too Tough for the Cuban Assassin. I knew Singh was a monster but I never knew he was a vampire. Owen and PCO continue their winning ways. I love how it's so obvious that everyone in the Playboy Club knows Rose is full of shit. Mr Hughes gets his shot at the TV title but the Hitman holds on. Onwards to San Francisco. Acevedo goes 0-2 thanks to Regal. The Playboy beats the Lover Boy. The Cat doesn't have enough left to take down Haynes. Bull brings the Pain to PCO. Coast 2 Coast retain against the fiesty Holly Cousins. Hennig & Mr Backlund give the fans a half hour classic. Finally, Fresno. Neidhart blasts Brookside. The Lethal Weapons/Malenko Brothers feud continues to heat up. Christopher with a huge win. The Wild Things score on the Southern Boys. A wounded Hall fights through Payne to keep his title. The Diamond Exchange get dirty to beat the Harts.
  25. I don't think Cody Michaels has gotten a shot in the game yet but he is on a roll in Arkansas. I'm liking Plowboy in the role of protector. Papa-san goofs & it costs his Headhunter. I do believe Ash just set himself up as the top heel in Arkansas.
