Schaiavone starts the show with a major announcement, a massive six man tag main event for the Clash. Koko B Ware has a tall task ahead of him taking the TV title from Muta. The Rockers have two top teams on their trail. Rhodes vs Spivey should be a real slugfest. Don't fancy Ace and Zenk's chances against Kamala and Haku respectively. Konnan & Benoit pair up to take on Los Conquistadors. Crazy scene to close the show as Bigelow protects a bloody Rhodes.

Knighton's turn to the dark side is already paying off. Renesto may be willing to lend a hand in a six man tag occasionally but he's dedicated to a singles run. DW overcomes a bad arm to beat the Headhunter. Rise should be satisfied with being the #1 seed in the tournament. Frazier gets on the wrong end of a 2-1 beat down but the face locker room clears out to help.

I imagine Mean Streak is gonna lose some money after laying out the ref. Good thing Morrow was there to kick the Gunslingers/Badd Company match into overtime. Considering we all already knew who was winning there was a danger of this coming off as anticlimactic but you did a great job overcoming that. After having to go through The Technicians, The Glamour Boys & Badd Company there's no doubt that the OG Midnights have earned their way into the Crockett Cup. And I would be remiss if I didn't give due credit to Badd Company who knows overcame both their rivals Synergy & The Gunslingers in overtime to earn their slot in the finals.

Nothing like a out & proud patriot getting a win to get the crowd warmed up. Dark Journey's trio get a needed notch in the win column. Papa-san has to get tough to keep the Headhunter in line. Ash scores his first successful defense.
-
Tyler laying down the law telling Ash that he'll be strictly held to the 30 day rule and giving Rose a well deserved second chance. Michaels is willing to bury the hatchet, as long as Knighton is willing to be square with him. Appreciate the shout-out from Riggins & Wolf. Minor correction though, the Crockett Cup offers a full million dollar prize. You might have been thinking of PCW's upcoming tournament.

Ladd gives Duggan & Super Destroyer a chance to end their feud in New Orleans, either Super D loses his mask or Duggan leaves Louisiana. Dibiase tries to pull a fast one but Ladd was a step ahead. Either Williams or Vader will be the referee for the big title match. But Woman isn't worried either way. No comment on Chicago though. Eddie's looking a little jealous after Rick retains. Roberts & Ellering knock it out of the park again. And it wouldn't be an episode of Mid-South if it didn't end in a pier-six brawl. And nobody spices up a Brawl like Stan Hansen! A stacked card for New Orleans.

Brown starts the show with a Pearl Harbor job on Colon. Idol & Oliver get some shine ahead of Champagne Slam. Adams tries to jump Nikita but it backfires leaving the Gentleman shaking. Dream is riding high with his new friends. Perez & Starr trade words before their showdown. Vinnie is somehow getting his team on the same page. I got a feeling Frenchy is gonna be eating these words. The six man main event ends the show in chaos.

It has been brought to my attention that between the talent Kev just sent me & my recent signings from Free Agency, I have exceeded the 60 talent cap. As such, the NWA releases Tom McGee, Ray Candy, Scott McGhee and Vladimir Krupoff. This brings me back to the limit.

Knighton finally snaps. A man can only take so many L's. Moving to Arkansas has NOT been worth it for Dark Journey. Tojo/Headhunter & Riggins/Wolf have another bloody brawl. Now that he's IPW Heavyweight Champion, there's no denying that Bill Ash is indeed the Headliner.

NWA releases Brodie Chase and George South. NWA signs Scott McGhee, Stoney Burke, Mongolian Mauler and Vladimir Krupoff

NWA adds Tom McGee to the block.

Taped at the Township Auditorium before Main Event. Originally airing on 3/19/88 on the USA Network. On Commentary: Bob Caudle David Crockett. "Chief. Joe Lightfoot defeats The Intern with the "Indian Death Lock". Major heat for Lightfoot. "The Doctor of Desire" Tom Prichard defeats Tom Brandi with a Superkick. "Exotic" Adrian Street w Ms Linda defeats George South with a Cross-face Chickenwing. Main event. Crockett Cup qualifier. The Renegade Warriors (Chris & Mark Youngblood) defeat Radiance (Jimmy Del Ray & Chic Donavon) w/Precious by DQ when the ref caught Precious tripping Mark. In other news.... Commentary announces the first set of outer-promotion teams for the Crockett Cup, representing International Pro Wrestling out of Arkansas are the teams of Reno Riggins and Dancing Wolf as well as Tojo Yamamoto and the New Guinea Headhunter. It's announced that next week's qualifier will be The South Pacific Connection vs Tough Guy Inc.

From the Township Auditorium in Columbia SC. Previously recorded airing on 3/18/88 on the USA Network. On Commentary: Gordon Solie. Ring announcer/interviews: Sean Moony. Match #1 Ranger Ross vs The Great Kabuki w/ "Number One" Paul Jones A nice back-and-forth brawl to start us off this week. Kabuki and Jones use every dirty trick they can think of but Ross battles through it. The finish sees Jones get on the apron to yell at Ross only to get a "Combat Kick" for a good sized pop. While the ref is checking to make sure Jones isn't dead, Kabuki sprays Ross with the "Asain mist" and nails the Thrust kick for the win. Match #2 "British Magician" Steve Wright defeats Edward Teach with the "Octopus hold". The Celestial Trinity join a visibly weirded out Moony. Zodiac says he & his fellow "warriors of infinity" have corrected the "galactic glitch" that separated them from the six man tag team titles and have left a trail of broken bodies ever since. Says that anyone who thinks to challenge the match of the cosmos by taking these titles from them shall be crushed with all the force of a black hole. Match #3 The Celestial Trinity (Jason the Terrible & Angel of Death) defeat Surf's Up (Moondoggie & The Big Kahuna) when AoD pins Kahuna with the "Death Sentence". Match #4 "World's Strongest Man" Bill Kazmaier vs"The Gatekeeper" Jimmy Golden Kerry Brown was in Kazmaier's corner while Fuller was in his cousins. Kazmaier's incredible strength gave the veteran Golden all he could handle with the Gatekeeper of the Stud Stable eventually having to resort to a low blow which lead to the match winning Piledriver. Golden & Fuller try to keep attacking after the bell bringing Brown into the ring. The four brawl for a bit until Bass and Cyrus come down to turn the tide in the Stud Stable's favor. They beat down the until Ranger Ross and Commando Boone charge the ring and together with Brown and Kazmaier send the heels running. The four men shake hands and it seems the Stud Stable's problems just multiplied. Match #5 "Rugged" Ron Garvin defeats "Killer" Kyle Knolastname with the "Hands of Stone" punch. JJ Dillon joins Moony and declares that he has two things to say regarding the upcoming Crockett Cup, one a spoiler and the other an announcement. The spoiler is that The Minnesota Wrecking Crew will sweep the whole thing and walk away with the cup and one million dollars richer. The announcement is that on night 2 of the Crockett Cup, Tully Blanchard will be cashing in his "Merry Christmas" title shot and will be taking back what he never should've lost, the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. Match #6 The Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Arn & Ole Anderson) w/JJ Dillon defeat Mr Higglesby & Lurch Evans when Arn hit the Spinebuster on Evans. Main Event. Non title. NWA United States Champion Bruiser Brody vs David "Fit" Finlay w/Jr Foley With Col Debeers positioning himself as a top challenger to the U.S title, commentary speculate that Finlay facing Brody tonight is recon for when the Col makes his challenge. The match itself is a hard-hitting affair with neither man giving a inch. Finlay puts up a fierce fight but ultimately succumbs to the "King Kong" Knee Drop.

Cool with me.

Jerry may not have been able to lure the King back to Memphis yet but at least his baby boy is back home. Ron Wright & Rip Rogers continue to be weekly highlights. Slater is looking to erase some bad Memphis memories. Marlin lays down the law fining the men involved in last week's brawl. He also warns Dutch that he's on his own if he gets in the ring. And what awful timing that after hearing this Dutch comes down with a fever. Luckily Gaylord was there to pick up the slack. And next week he'll try to solve the boss's Douglas problem. Whatley & co beat down the Fab One until the calvery runs them off. Between Keirn, Slater and Jarrett the Lightning Express have some great options for the big six man tag when Brad gets back from Japan.

PCW bringing two stacked cards to Vegas.
-
Ya know, I actually like that you're willing to have some hiccups on your card. The four way tag with the wonky ending, Ace and Zenk not being over as challengers, the Road Warriors not wanting to play ball, Steamboat and Hayes not clicking, it all adds a touch of realism most of us don't bother with. Muta is a made man beating the Superfly for the TV title. Konnan may have won with their help but he makes clear that he is not on the Conquistadors side. Interested to see where he & Benoit go from here. Gordy accidentally floors Elizabeth. There's gonna be hell to pay when Savage wakes up. Spivey with the swerve of the night as he turns on Dusty. Curious to hear his reasoning.

First Victoria. Cheetah Kid with a easy kill. The Widowmaker wards off the Demon. Undertaker leads NoE to another victory. Thankfully Owen has a strong immune system. Hall retains but how much longer can that leg hold out? Onwards to Vancouver. Albright makes Gary Hart proud. The Lethal Weapons score a major win. Flowers derails Christopher's momentum. Acevedo wasn't ready for Prime Time. Superstars & C2C get to wild. First a Mad Dog, now a Bull, Bret is becoming quite the beast master. Finally Kelowna. Dustin shows Cairo why he's the Natural. The Knights Templar repel the British Invasion. The Cat pounces on PCO. Wild Things outsmart the Force. Pillman caps the night off with another successful defense.
-
Michaels with another win. Knighton seems to take it better though. Plowboy is still having a good time after the battle of the biggun's Rose is ready to become champion. Reno & the Wolf get a win & then send their rivals packing. Not a bad night.
-
Spazzinsky comes in for Dundee. The Headliner is one win away from the International title. But Pat Rose is in his way.

11 huge matches highlighted by a two huge rematches, a title vs title match and the Ultimate debut!
-
Colon & Brown start the show with a pull-apart brawl. Jumbo & Fujinami are tuned up and ready for another run at the Crockett Cup. Adams is so confident, I'm starting to think he actually can beat Nikita this time. Griz puts a mauling on Putski. Charland looks to spoil the Ultimate debut while Chicky & Perez go head to head. I don't think we can handle Zbyszko as a double champion. Busick shows he can handle the numbers game. Perez & Synergy get a leg up on DDP's crew. The Bruise Brothers are looking to get their belts back! The show closes with a taste of the 10 man elimination tag coming at Champagne Slam.
-
As is becoming his habit, Ladd starts us off with some big announcements. A special ref for the matches involving Woman's men and Hot Stuff Inc get their tag title shot. Speaking of the tag titles. The champs are ready for the fight and Scott is determined to get through to his brother. Woman didn't take long to come up with a plan. Duggan and Super D are ready to tear each other apart. Poffo with another win. Ladd gives Dibiase an ultimatum, show up in New Orleans or be stripped of your title. Luger fells the Goliath. Dibiase may not be present but the Million Dollar Corporation shows they're still a force to be reckoned with as they beat down Murdoch, JYD, Roberts and Ellering.

Cool map. Though I'll point out that Ohio should be purple to as it's part of Den's territory but still a great job.

Taped at the Asheville Civic Center before Main Event. Originally airing on 3/12/88 on the USA Network. On Commentary: Bob Caudle & David Crockett. Billy Joe Travis defeats The Pearl with the "Just a swingin" neckbreaker. "Maniac" Matt Borne w/"Number One" Paul Jones defeats George South with a "Stump Puller" Super Strong Machine defeats Punisher with the "Machine Lariat". Main event. "Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin w/Precious defeats "The Haitian Sensation" Tyree Pride after Precious pushes Pride off the top rope allowing Garvin to hit the Brainbuster. In other news.... Before his match Garvin cuts a promo saying that while Ron and "that dime store Jimmy Garvin knock off" only beat his proteges by sheer dumb luck, he's a crushingly handsome man of his word so Ron will get his one-on- one match but like everything else it runs on Jimmy Garvin time, meaning it'll happen when he's good & ready. Regarding the Crockett Cup, commentary excitedly announces the news from the AWA that not only will last year's winners, Jumbo Tsurata and Tatsumi Fujinami be entering once again but the AWA will be hosting a qualifying tournament to decide the other team. They also reveal the first qualifying match will take place next week when The Renegade Warriors take on Radiance.
