  1. Love the ending to the opening match. I could totally see Saggs breaking a chair over Haku's head. Solid wins for Muta & the Twin Towers. Great end to the battle royal. Advances the Freebirds/Savage rivalry (I had a feeling Randy's problems with Garvin had something to do with this) while creating mystery around the United States Title. A debut win for Derrick Dukes. Sabu & Taz make a frightening duo. I like the idea for the TV title. A gauntlet creates an opportunity for a face to go the distance or for a heel to take advantage of a exhausted opponent. Rockers take the lead but they've got two more weeks to go.
  2. NWA Live @ the "Old" Charlotte Coliseum in Charlotte NC 1/12/88 Col Debeers wins a 20 battle royal to challenge for the NWA World Heavyweight Title in the main event last eliminating Keiichi Yamada. "The Candyman" Ray Candy defeats Big Daddy Cyrus with the "Chocolate Drop" The Great Kabuki w/"Number One" Paul Jones will a "Asian Mist"/Thrust kick combo. The Moondogs (Rex & Spot) w/"Number One" Paul Jones vs The Renegade Warriors (Chris & Mark Youngblood) ends in a double countout. "Raging Bull Manny Fernandez defeats "The Monster" Rip Morgan w/Jr Foley after ducking under a big boot and coming off the ropes with the "Flying Burrito" non title. Super Strong Machine defeats "Maniac" Matt Borne w/"Number One" Paul Jones by disqualification when Borne decked the referee for..... reasons. NWA World Heavyweight Title. "Nature Boy" Ric Flair(c) defeats Col Debeers w/Jr Foley by countering a face first Piledriver attempt into a inside cradle. Huge hometown pop.
  3. NWA Live @ the Sumter County Exhibition Center in Sumter SC 1/10/88 "World's Strongest Man" Bill Kazmaier defeats a local talent with a running powerslam. David "Fit" Finlay defeats "The Haitian Sensation" Tyree Pride with a Tombstone Piledriver. The fans were shocked to see Jr Foley accompany Finlay to ringside. "Hangman" Bobby Jaggers defeats "Golden Boy" Chic Donavon with a reverse neckbreaker. "Soul Man" Rocky Johnson defeats "Rotten" Ron Starr with the "Soul Man Shuffle" NWA World Six Man Tag Team Titles The Celestial Trinity (Zodiac, Jason the Terrible & Angel of Death)(c) defeat The Commandos (Boone & Frazier) and Ranger Ross when Zodiac pins Frazier with a loaded headbutt. NWA United States Title Bruiser Brody(c) defeats Iceman Parsons with the "King Kong Knee Drop"
  4. Morrow is the new COO of the AWA and he wastes no time shaking things up. I like the Title Night idea. Plus he promises the TV title is gonna get a upgrade. This should be a fun ride. Can't say I'm surprised to see the AWA fans warming up to Venomous. The addition of the Fortune Ones is one thing but if Greg has got Blackwell on board then Gagne's Gang may just be ruling the roost in 88. Nikita, Oliver, Putski and the Original Midnights all get some nice showcases. The Bruise Brothers are fired up. I wouldn't want to be The Glamour Boys come Feb 4th. Kokina advances to take on a wounded Busick. Nelson better be careful how he talks to Bad News.
  5. Huge card coming up this Sunday. Some big names debuting and the Graham/Sullivan match we've been waiting for. Speaking of Sullivan, you really captured him it the interview. I'd keep an eye on Roop if I were Colt, Maha doesn't seem to be as much in the past as Bob would like.
  6. Taped at the Memorial Auditorium before Main Event. Originally airing on 1/9/88 on the USA Network. On Commentary: Bob Caudle & David Crockett. "The Candyman" Ray Candy defeats Tom Brandi with the "Chocolate Drop" The debuting Moondogs (Rex & Spot) w/"Number One" Paul Jones defeat The Carolina Bobcats with a backbreaker/elbowdrop combination on Bobcat #1 Tom "MegaMan" McGee defeats Bart Sawyer with the slingshot legdrop. Winner challenges for the NWA World Television Title on next week's Main Event. "Rotten" Ron Starr defeats Ranger Ross with a handful of tights. In other news.... Paul Jones joins commentary for the Moondogs mauling of the Bobcats. He says that with the money he made in Chicago he's built the deadliest Army in the history of professional wrestling and this time, he is going to CONQUER the NWA! We get a pre-taped promo from Col Debeers. He says that while Boyd & The Sheepherders have been reassigned to another "problem area" he has assembled a new squad with whom he will continue to spread the "true glory of her majesty's Commonwealth" he then brings in Rip Morgan and a mean looking man wearing army fatigues and a Northern Ireland patch whom he calls David Finlay. A hype video plays showing Ron Garvin battering a variety of opponents before dropping all of them with the "Hands of Stone" punch.
  7. From the Memorial Auditorium in Spartanburg SC. Previously recorded & airing on 1/7/88 on the USA Network. On Commentary: Gordon Solie Ring announcer/Interviews: Sean Moony The Renegade Warriors (Chris and Mark Youngblood) vs Tough Guy Inc Don Bass & Big Daddy Cyrus) It's the first NWA show of 1988 and Solie promises a night for returns as well as surprise debuts such as tonight's main event(heh). Our opening contest of the new year sees the return of the popular Youngblood brothers back from a stint in Chicago. The newly restructured Tough Guy Inc looks to spoil their return as they lay into the Warriors with simple but effective brawling. The Youngblood's weather the storm however and a top rope sunsetflip from Chris to Cyrus makes their return a successful one. "The World's Strongest Man" Bill Kazmaier vs Black Bart Someone else returning from the Windy City is Black Bart who's clearly as ornery as ever. Taking him on is a man making his debut for the NWA, Bill Kazmaier whose feats of strength have impressed crowds from the AWA to Mid-South. He wastes no time impressing the Spartanburg faithful, scoring repeated slams on the 350 pound Texan. Say what you will about Bart, the man's no pushover and pounds away on the Candaian strongman whenever he gets the chance. The end sees Kazmaier blow the fans, as well as Solie's, minds as he actually manages to get the big man into a military press only for the experienced heel to rake his eyes before slamming down and, clearly in a rush to end this, climbs the ropes for a "Texas Trash Compactor". Bart may be the one with his hand raised but Kazmaier had certainly proved himself to the NWA fans. Madina Ala Maas, Ascanio Rani Sourd & Tiw Aiobhe O'Shaughnessy vs "The Monster" Rip Morgan Whatever Jim Crockett Jr paid these guys, it was NOT enough. Morgan utterly destroys the three men before finally chokeslaming them one after another each on top of the one before then putting a boot on the pile for the pin. Morgan is stomping up the ramp before being stopped by Col Debeers. Debeers says something to the towering Australian before they leave together. Oh damn. Sean Moony: Ladies and Gentlemen, My name is Sean Moony and it's been a wonderful first night for me so far and it continues as my first interview is with the man who shocked the wrestling world at Christmas Chaos. Please welcome Tully Blanchard and the Four Horsemen. (Thunderous boos as Blanchard arrogantly strools to the ring followed by JJ, The Andersons and....NOT Stan Hansen but a young man with brown hair, matching goatee and a set of red in the front/white in the back trunks) SM: Well Mr Blanchard, you certainly had everyone talking after your actions at Christmas Chaos. First you win the "Merry Christmas" battle royal under a mask but then you attack Ric Flair after he had a gruelling match with Buddy Landel. TB: well first of all Muddy, the only reason I wore that mask is because I knew if I entered under my real name, nobody else would've showed up for that battle royal. And as for Flair, last year he used the title shot he won in this same match to steal MY WORLD TITLE! And I can't think of anything more fitting then to use that same battle royal to right the greatest wrong in the history of the NWA when I take back what I should've never lost. Flair you won't know when, you won't know where but rest assured, the second I cash in my title shot, the Ten Pounds of Gold is coming back to the Horsemen. SM: Well speaking of the Horsemen, it seems Buddy Landel isn't the only one missing, where might I ask is Stan Hansen? JJ: Mr Hansen received a very lucrative business opportunity in Florida and has gone to pursue it with our blessing. We wish him the best of luck. But rest assured we've already found a suitable replacement. SM: *looks sceptically at the young man standing between Ole & Arn* Surely you aren't referring to this young man are you? *The Horsemen look at each other before all bursting into laughter, even t the kid* JJ: Oh no this is an unrelated issue. No the newest Horsemen will be debuting next week on this very program and when he does, there will be no question that the Horsemen are the single most elite group in professional wrestling today. SM: Well we'll be keeping an eye on that I'm sure, but that still leaves the question of who is this young man you've brought out here and what is his connection to the Horsemen? (JJ steps aside while Ole steps forward) Ole: I'll take it from here Mr Monday. SM: it's Mooney. Ole: I could not possibly care less. As I was saying Mr Monkey, this isn't Horsemen business. This *places a hand on the kid's shoulder with an almost.... affectionate(?) look* is family business. I'm sure the creatures that live here *boooo* remember my Brother Gene and how he and I used to dominate the competition all around Georgia & the Mid-Atlantic region, just as I did with our Brother Lars and just like I do with cousin Arn. Well Gene may have hung up the boots back in 85 but he has one final contribution to the wrestling business and that's teaching his son everything he knows. *A buzz goes around the arena as the crowd starts to put together where Ole's going with this* Without any further ado, Arn and I present to you the newest member of the Armstrong wrestling dynasty....Brad Anderson! George South vs Brad Anderson w/The Horsemen. Just a showcase for the youngest Anderson who spends the whole match picking South's arm apart before clamping on a Fujiwara armbar for the submission victory earning him a round of applause from the Horsemen at ringside. NWA World Television Title. Super Strong Machine(c) vs Abdullah the Butcher Solie explains that due to the chaotic ending of their match at Christmas Chaos, NWA officials agreed that a rematch was in order. Fans are shocked when Abby stalks to the ring accompanied not by Ox Baker but rather "Number One" Paul Jones! They have another hard-hitting match with SSM seeming to have a slightly better grasp on how to handle the Madman from the Sudan. He manages to get the challenger in what Solie describes as a "Japanese sleeper" and it looks like the Arabian terror is about to go out when Jones signals to the back which summons Matt Borne and the Great Kabuki who storm the ring and assault the TV champion causing a DQ finish. Abby gets to his feet and joins in on a 4-1 beatdown with even Jones getting his licks in before security manages to get control of the situation. NWA World Tag Team Titles The Commonwealth (Adrian Street Bill Dundee)(c) w/Ms Linda ?&? The Commonwealth are in the ring getting warmed up when "Old Time Rock & Roll" by Bob Seger comes over the pa system. The fans look excitedly to the entrance before absolutely ERUPTING when Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson run down the aisle. The Rock n Roll Express are in the NWA! The Commonwealth are as shocked as anyone but they recover and we get a fun southern style tag team main event. The Express are all high octane offense which the champs counter with stiff strikes and some snub submissions from Street. We get a action filled ending with all four men in the ring. The Commonwealth look to Irish whip the Express into each other only to have it reversed. The champs crash into each other and stagger back into stereo O'Connor rolls. The ref counts both pins 1...2...3! The Rock n Roll Express are NWA World Tag Team Champions!
  8. First up Oakland. The war of words between Cornette and RPG heats up before a Midnights victory. It's a good thing that you've got two Tag Titles in PCW cause Rose nearly screwed himself there. Though I can't blame him for wanting to recruit the Bruise Brothers. The Knights Templar feel the Force of July. The Widowmaker is sounding just a bit paranoid. But he's got just the backup he needs to fulfill his promise to destroy the Brigade. Owen takes the fight to Sawyer. This is gonna be a fun feud. Snow continues his roll after leaving the crusade. The Wild Things are on the hunt Golden State tag titles. Onto San Francisco. PCO and Cactus have another wild one. Blackman's bad luck streak continues. The Hollywood Vampires break even. The Force of July get a second win with a little help from Uncle Slam. Rose had a little too much experience for Christopher. A Brigade/NoE brawl makes for a great way to end the match. Finally, Fresno. Cheetah Kid with another successful hunt. If the Harris' keep this up, people are gonna have to learn which one's which. Billy Jack brings the Payne to Bull. Windham gets his first win over a member of the Brigade. The Gold Exchange wins high speed collision with the Holly's. Neidhart may have just earned himself a TV title shot with that pin on Bret. Hall withstands the Assassin to retain his title.
  9. I love how Dr D has no time Colt & Roop. When he says destruction he means DESTRUCTION! Pretty good showing from Bedlam but not enough to beat the Wildcat. Graham batter hope his checks clear, Hansen makes for a damn good friend but a horrible enemy. The Nightmares win a competitive match with the Young Stallions. The King is in Florida! This is gonna be good. I think you captured him well in that promo. Hansen said to bring a army and it looks like Sullivan's been on a recruitment drive. Huge win for TNT in the main event but Burke shows him it isn't over yet. Luckily TNT had some friends nearby. I wonder if anyone will ever have the heart to tell Roop & Colt Puerto Rico isn't a country? Oh well, at least the feud is off and running.
  10. Okay first things first, you nailed the Schiavone/Rhodes exchange in the intro. I like that you aren't just handing your previous champions new belts but are still giving them their respect. Steamboat is gonna get a great match outta Bam Bam and you can't go wrong either way, while the Road Warriors can either pick up where they left off or make the perfect final bosses for the tournament winners. Also like the set-up to crown your first United States Champion. I'm a fan of the battle royal to singles match gimmick. The chase to the championship could be a lot of fun depending on who's in it. Dusty may not be behind the desk for too long if Race & Slick have anything to say about it. The Freebirds attack Savage. I didn't see that coming but as I think it over, I may have a idea as to their motive. One episode in and you're already doing WCW proud.
  11. I'm not familiar with Rice but he & Adidas certainly seem to gell together. Kokina has been unleashed and the Professor is content to watch the carnage. The Fortune Ones have arrived and are already pissing everyone off. Hope Young has better luck with this mentor than he did with last one. Austin has a impressive new heavy in Cannonball Griz. Adams and Baby Doll waste no time bragging about kicking the King out of the AWA. The Fortune Ones kick up some serious intruige with a violent attack on Mando. Morrow gets back into the good life before making a big announcement on next week's Beauty Shop. I remember watching AWA reruns on ESPN years ago and one of the things I remember most was the pairing with DDP with B-B-Badd Company. The Warrior is coming! We get a shocking finish as Blackwell turns to the darkside by assaulting Resnick! Gotta love how he starts complaining how nobody was talking about him being robbed just as the crowd was literally chanting "you were robbed"
  12. Gotta admire how Ladd is even able to turn Tully interfering on his behalf into a put down of Watts. Well Robley sure changed his tune right quick! Poor Goliath. Wonder who Ted's gonna pair Nord with? Williams gets his due for being Mid-South's mvp over the last year. But Woman comes out to boast about her man leading to a pier-six brawl and a fire promo by Dr Death. Vader getting that win must've calmed Woman's nerves at least a bit. Between the dual Ellering/Roberts promo & the shenanigans after Dibiase's match, this feud just got kicked to another level. Gilbert takes his victory lap for sending the Freebirds packing and promises to do the same to Prichard. A JYD win/promo combo makes a great finish to the first Mid-South show of 1988.
  13. Airing live from the Frederick J Sigur Civic Center in Chalmette Louisiana on Fite TV, the National Wrestling Alliance is proud to present..... Match 1 Voodoo Queen Casket Match. Max the Impaler w/Father James Mitchell defeats Natalla Markova. Changes made: Max wins without interference to sell just how much of a monster they are. (Commentary reveal that Aldis had been taken to a local hospital while Odinson had been removed from the building meaning the advertised match between the two will not take place) Match 2. MLW National Openweight title. "American Wolf" Davey Richards(c) defeats Colby Corino when Corino submitted to an anklelock. Changes made: The time given to the impromptu Odinson/Mason match goes here instead. They also get some time from another match I'm shortening which would be..... Match 3. Mask vs Mask. Question Mark ii defeats The Question Mark w/Aaron Stevens. The bell rings with Stevens still in the ring shouting at QM2. Question Mark sneaks behind his opponent and charges. QM2 senses it however and ducks sending Mark crashing into his own manager knocking Stevens out of the ring. Mark turns around and QM2 immediately hits the "Mongrovian Spike" for the win. QM2 unmasks Question Mark to reveal him as Rodney Mac to the shock of literally no one. Changes made: Obviously I've made the match much shorter. I don't believe anyone was particularly looking forward to it & everyone knew where it was going. Match 4. NWA World Jr Heavyweight Title. "The Future Legend" Kerry Morton w/Ricky Morton defeats "The Notorious Legend" Homicide(c) by countering a "Copkillah" into a O'Connor roll. Changes made: Just a slight tweak to the finish as from what I can read the match was solid and Morton is over enough to give him a run with the title. Match 5. NWA United States Tag Team Titles The Spectaculars (Rolando & Rush Freeman) defeat The Fixers (Jay Bradley & Wrecking Ball Legursky)(c) when Rolando pinned Bradley with the "Biggest Boot" (running big boot to a kneeling opponent) NEW CHAMPIONS!!! Changes made: i switched out Brady Pearce for Rolando because the later is one of the most over guys on the card so it makes sense to put him on the card. That's also part of why I'm booking a title change, another is...well frankly I don't like the Fixers. More specifically I like watching them wrestle but don't like their gimmick of "big, stupid guys who yell a lot". The Spectaculars would be defending under the Freebird rule in this scenario. Match 6. NWA National Title. The Great Sion w/Austin Idol defeats "The Mile-High Magnum" Dak Draper in a heel vs heel match where the father/son proved more villainous when Idol slides Sion the title and he knocked Draper out with it. Changes made: Draper isn't who I would've chosen to challenge Sion. I actually like him & think he has a major upside but he just couldn't get the crowd behind him. I added a belt shot to the finish because Draper does deserve to be protected at least. Match 7. NWA Women's Tag Team Titles. Pretty Empowered (Ella Envy & Kenzie Page)(c) defeat Madi Wrenkowski & Missa Kate after Madi walked out on Missa leaving her to take the pin. Changes made: Nothing bad enough to change here. Match 8. EC3 defeats Thom Latimer by punching him with a chain wrapped fist while Latimer had him in position for the "Brighter side of suffering" (pop up powerbomb) Changes made: I'll be honest I don't like EC3's current gimmick. I get what he's trying to do, portray a man fighting against the system that misused him, but it's execution has been a bust with him cutting lengthy promos that don't actually say anything. That said, I considered leaving this match alone as the idea of him pissing Latimer off so much it causes a DQ is interesting, I realized it will only be fuel for EC3's dime store philosophy so I'm giving him more traditional heel win after a properly physical match. Match 9. NWA World Tag Team Titles. Hawx Aerie (Luke & PJ Hawx) defeat La Rebellion (Bestia 666 & Mecha Wolf)(c) w/Damian 666 after Damian accidentally sprayed his son in the face with mist allowing Luke to roll him up to win the titles. Changes made: La Rebellion cheated to beat Hawx Aerie at NWA 74 night 1 and what better place to give them their redemption then their hometown? Match 10. Triple Threat match for the NWA World Women's Title. "Hot Mess" Chelsea Green defeats "The Majesty of Muscle" KiLynn King & "The Brickhouse" Kamille(c) after throwing Kamille out of the ring after she speared King to steal the pin. NEW CHAMPION!!! Changes made: While I've become quite the fan of Kamille, I don't see what else she can do with the belt and this provides the perfect opportunity to get the belt off her without having her eat the pin. Main event. Triple Threat for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Title. "Always Ready" Matt Cardona defeats "The Great American Smash" Tyrus w/BLK Jeez & Trevor Murdoch(c). Murdoch goes for his top rope Bulldog on Tyrus but the big man turns around and catches the champ with the Heart punch in midair! Tyrus looks to have it won but Cardona blasts the big man with the title allowing him to pin Murdoch. NEW CHAMPION!!! Changes made: Seeing as Cardona's first reign only ended because he got injured it only seems right to give him the ball again and see what he can do with a proper run. Plus he & Chelsea should be insufferable now they both have a title. I know I did a "winner steals someone else's rightful pin" angle in the last two matches but given the two involved are A) married & in a faction together I thought it was a nice link. So that's my version of Hard Times 3. How'd I do? Did I make it better? Worse? Let me know what you think.
  14. First up Portland. Snow may be in a better mood but he may want to try making some new friends. Lone wolves don't last too long in PCW. Speaking of making friends, Rose makes himself a couple in the Sin City Superstars. RPG is really hyping his new team and they're certainly giving him plenty of reason. So The Bulldozer earns the approval of.... Cactus Jack? Anyone else getting nervous? The Animal claims another victim. Bull Pain is on a roll while Blackman is entertaining a bit of a rut. Ok Windham turning on Hennig, I could see coming. But for it happening so soon & his joining the NoE? That caught me by surprise. Portland night 2. The Bruise Brothers just struck Gold! Loving the running gag where even the narration can't tell the Harris twins apart. Furnas grabs the Bull by the horns. The Destruction Crew may not have won the match but they still lay waste to the Southern Boys. Mr Hughes wins a slugfest with PCO. The Sin City Superstars waste no time earning their keep in the Playboy Club. Brian Pillman vs Dean Malenko is a Light Heavyweight dream match. Mr Backlund cashes his due rematch but he couldn't pry the California title from the Gator's jaws. Finally Eugene. Christopher gets infected by the Virus. The Midnights get a solid win over the Holly's while Corny takes a potshot at RPG. Blackman's drought continues against Flowers. Billy Jack puts a dent in the Anvil. Payne halts the path of the Bulldozer. I imagine it's extra sweet for Coast 2 Coast whenever they retain over the Knights Templar. The Hitman outshoots the Cuban Assassin to retain the TV title.
  15. Damn. Was NOT expecting this. After ushering in a new era for the AWA, Jarrett is collecting his crew and heading off on their own. Let's see how Gagne comes up with to keep the AWA relevant in the rapidly changing world of wrestling.
  16. NWA puts Iceman Parsons on the block.
  17. NWA releases Johnny Rich, Fidel Sierra, Ricky Santana & Duke Myers to get within the 60 talent cap. With that, the NWA roster is up to date.
  18. WCW has got all the stars!
  19. A successful debut for Jerry Lynn. He stands to learn a lot from Morton. The Animal makes a fierce first impression in his first match as a member of the Pride. The Force of July win one for Murica. The Brigade is bulstered by the arrival of The Natural and the Ladies Man. Scotty and Reno get their first win Sin City style. Cyrus makes a great fit for the Wild Things. The Holly's are here to make PCW hardcore! Brian Lee proves just how ready for prime time he is. The Two Belt Backlund era is over thanks to a returning Scott Hall. Big Ron & Heavy D arrive with a bang. Brian Christopher shows the skills needed to one day become Grand Master. I had a feeling The Hollywood Vampires might end up with Paul. The Cheetah Kid captures his first prey. Bockwinkel delivers easily the most arrogant retirement speech I've ever heard. I don't think anyone expected anything less. Hennig and Hart have an absolute classic to properly usher in 1988. The Destruction Crew certainly live up to their debut. Surprisingly touching arrival for Bull Pain. Spicoli makes a fine partner for Candido. As long as he listens to Mr Backlund. On to Vancouver. Dustin makes his father proud by winning his first match. Albright goes 2-0 against the Army. Perez wins a beauty and the beast match against Cactus. Owen scores a major win over the Playboy. In the battle of Exchanges, Diamonds prove more valuable than gold. Wild Things use the chaos to their advantage in the six man tag. Payne launches an all-out assault to capture the Pacific Heavyweight Title but it's not enough. Looking forward to a Brigade/Neighborhood of Evil feud. Finally Kelowna. Cheetah Kid pounces on Cyrus. Neidhart causes a crash landing Air Pillman. The Southern Boys win what I'm sure was a good ol'fashioned country fight with the Holly's. Bull brings the Pain to Christopher. St Clair avoids the killing blow from the Cuban Assassin. Coast 2 Coast fend off the Midnights to hold onto the tag titles.
  20. Looks like the Big Dink got a little too big for his britches. Don't mess with Mr Poffo. Though I'm sure Sullivan is going to have something to say about this. Simmons & Hansen are two names that'll do wonders putting eyes on the new product. January 7th has a packed card with Mr Poffo promising a big surprise.
  21. In addition the trades mentioned above NWA sends Stan Hansen, Tony Anthony & Len Denton to Mid-South in exchange for Ricky Morton, Robert Gibson, Ron Garvin, Terry Taylor & Tom Prichard who will be on a delay. I'm also sending Buddy Landel back to WCW as well as Boyd & the Sheepherders back to Mid-South as their loans are up. I'll also be bringing in Fit Finlay having traded him to rain for a rookie draft pick. Finally I'm releasing Giant Haystacks, Shaun Simpson & Ox Baker and signing Bill Kazmaier, Johnny Rich & Jr Foley. If I left someone out in the trade please let me know. Happy new year fellas!
  22. Ok I know nobody took me up on this bet but I'm going for it anyway. I've got the preshow up in Armchair Booking with the main show going up as soon as tomorrow ( or whenever I have the time)
  23. Hard Times 3 preshow. Airing live on YouTube from the Frederick J Sigur Civic Center in Chalmette Louisiana. Match 1. NWA World Television Title #1 contender match. "Big, Strong" Mims defeats "Adorable" Anthony Andrews by sliding out of a powerslam on hitting the "Big, Strong Slam" Changes made: I kept the finish the same because Mims should have won but I would've made the match more even as it felt like Andrews controlled a little too much of the match. Match 2. Wildcat Tag Team Title match. The Miserably Faithful (Sal the Pal & Gaagz the Gymp) w/"The Sinister Minister" Father James Mitchell defeat Slime SZN (Bu Ku Dao & J Spade)(c) when Gaagz pinned Spade with "The Finish" (Sliced Bread) TITLE CHANGE!!! Reason for the change: The finish to this match was dumb. Gaagz hit "The Finish" and had the man pinned when the ref spotted Sal holding Spade's feet down. The MT argue with Sal slapping Gaagz which the ref calls a tag. Shenanigans continue until Sal is pinned. Changes made: The titles actually change hands. If your going to have champions from multiple different companies come in to defend their titles against your talent, you should make sure your guys are winning at least one. Another benefit is that now the MT don't look like idiots. Sal & Gaagz can always drop the belts at a later Wildcat show. Match 3. Hardcore Team War match. Elimination via pinfall, submission or being thrown over the top rope. Anthony Mayweather, Da Pope & "The Masterpiece" Chris Adonis vs "The Dane event" Jax Dane, "The Magic Bastard" Magic Jake Dumas & "The Thrillbilly" Silas Mason w/Chris Silvio Esq, "The Lovely" Poyo Del Mar & "The Lovely Assistant" Christi Jaynes. (Dumas limps out in a full leg brace and Silvio informs the audience that he sprained his ankle after beating up "42 of New Orleans finest". He says that due to the short notice he had to make a deal with the Devil to find a replacement. At that James Mitchell leads out Judias!) Order of elimination. Da Pope eliminates Silas Mason with the "Elijah Express" through a table set up in the corner. Judias eliminates Da Pope with a chokeslam on two chairs that had been placed across from each other. Judias eliminates Chris Adonis when Mitchell grabs Adonis' boot allowing "The Priest of Punishment" to clothesline him over the top rope. Anthony Mayweather eliminates Judias after ducking a running big boot causing the big man to send himself over the top rope. Anthony Mayweather eliminates Jax Dane after ducking under a Lariat and ramming Dane headfirst into a chair set up in the corner. He pulls Dane out then hits a Death Valley Driver on a trashcan to win. (During this match Joe Galli recieves news over the headset that clearly shocks him. Before the TV title match we see a (pre-taped) video of a bloody Nick Aldis laid out on the floor while security struggles to pull a crazed Odinson away) Reasons for changes: The teams we got had some.... interesting choices. I can kind of get JTG teaming with Mayweather & Pope as he and Pope have sorta paired up since Dango -JTG's usual partner was injured- but he kinda doesn't fit on his team due to being positioned lower on the card. And while I can see Dane being willing to team with Dumas I can't see him wanting to team with Mercurio. Likewise Alex Taylor doesn't seem a fitting replacement. As of the preshow Adonis, Judias & Mason all had been left off the card (though Mason would find a way on) so I put Adonis on Mayweather's team as I think they'd work well together ( though that is admittedly downplayed with the Team War format) and switched Mercurio with Mason while making Judias the replacement for Dumas. This way I give some upper mid-card guys something to do while also putting in men who could probably do well in a hardcore setting. Match 4. For the vacant NWA World Television Title. "Golden Boy" Jordan Clearwater w/"The Universal Heartthrob" Austin Idol defeats "The Legacy" AJ Cazana with the "Midas Touch" (running big boot) Changes made: This is actually the first match I wouldn't change. Maybe Idol could get involved on a couple occasions but on the whole, the match was good and Clearwater can make a credible heel champ. Well that's the preshow. Let me know what you think so far & if I don't get the main show out tomorrow, I'll get it out as soon as I'm able.
  24. Ok full disclosure. I only watched the pre-show not the actual ppv. But that said from what I've seen/read several questionable decisions were made in terms of booking. So as a year-end gift for you -and a challenge for me- I've taken up the challenge of seeing if I can book it better. Some rules I've set for myself. 1. I'm not making anyone compete who was injured or otherwise left the company before the event (y'all know who I mean) 2. Minimum changes to the card. While I will make some changes to put certain wrestlers where I think they'd fit better, the majority of them will remain where they are. Most of the changes will be regarding who wins or how they win. 3. I'll endeavor to explain my thought process on each change I make. Explaining what I don't like about what the NWA actually did & why I believe my change is for the better. With that said, we'll begin with the pre-show.
