Southeastern Championship Wrestling Ep. 3 From the WTVY Channel 4 Studios in Dothan, Alabama Airing on various stations across Alabama & Mississippi Pre-recorded airing on the weekend of 1/3/91 Host: Charlie Platt Co-Host: Joe Pedicino (the show opens with a montage of random Southeastern Wrestling clips from the different incarnations over the years, we then go to the desk to our hosts Charlie Platt and Joe Pedicino) Platt: Hello and welcome back once again to Southeastern Championship Wrestling, I'm Charlie Platt and it's my pleasure to introduce my co-host the one and only, Joe Pedicino. Pedicino: Thank you Charlie, we have a big show in store for everyone this week. The new Southeastern Tag Team Champions 'Team Texas," "Killer" Tim Brooks and Jimmy Jack Funk will be in action today here in the studio. Platt: That's right, we'll also hear from the U.S. Junior Heavyweight Champion Armando Guerrero and I feel like we'll be hearing from his so-called attorney as well. Pedicino: It will be interesting to see if Alberto Madril is here, because we're scheduled to see Armando's friend "El Toro" in action today as we'll be seeing Armando and El Toro taking on Vic Steamboat and Chaz Taylor in a tag team match Platt: That should be a great contest. Now if you weren't able to be in Birmingham on New Year's, I'm sure you're curious about how things turned out in the Southeastern Title match between the Junkyard Dog and Eric Embry. Things got completely out of hand as …. (Before Platt could finish that sentence, Ronnie P. Gossett and Eric Embry came out) RPG: Things got out of hand? That's an understatement. That sawed off little runt, Jamie Dundee came out there and he had a bunch of Memphis rejects with him and they cost Eric Embry the Southeastern title. Platt: So, you're saying if they hadn't came along, Embry would be the new champion? Embry: First of all, that's MR. Embry to you and yeah man….I would be wearing that belt right here and now if those goofs hadn't interfered! (This brings out Jamie Dundee and "Dirty" Dutch Mantell) ICE: Let's get one thing straight from the jump, My name is J.C. Ice Baby, Jamie Dundee was my slave name and he's no longer around. Now that I've set that straight, the fact of the matter is, MR. Embry…..if we hadn't shown up when we did your butt woulda been pinned by JYD, but make no mistake we weren't there to help YOU or to please any of these nothing happening Alabama rednecks…..the Memphis Mafia is here for US! RPG: The best thing the Memphis Mafia can do is take your butts to Memphis and beg the USWA to book you because Ronnie P's Team Texas rules Southeastern. Dutch: Listen here, Humpty Dumpty. We aren't going anywhere but to the top. I just happened to have Ron Fuller fax me one of those open contracts that JYD hauled off and signed last week and this week I'm the one getting the shot against JYD this Thursday night. Embry: No…no…no! I signed one of those contracts that Jerry Stubbs brought ME, so I'M getting another shot at JYD this Thursday night! (Jerry Stubbs comes out shaking his head) Stubbs: Look, I just spoke with Ron Fuller up in the control booth and we've screwed up. Ron did send a contract to Eric unbeknownst to me and I had Dutch sign one yesterday. So, the only fair thing we know to do is to let you two wrestle each here today and the winner will challenge JYD on Thursday in Birmingham. Dutch: Now wait a damn minute, Jerry. I didn't sign a contract for a number one contender's match….I signed a contract for a title shot and that's what I'm getting or you'll hear from my lawyer. Embry: Damn right, I didn't sign for any number one contender's match either, I've got an attorney too! (the theme from "the People's Court" plays) Stubbs: Madril, what are you doing out here? Madril: I'm here to help you settle this out of court, for a small fee of course. Look, I was down in Mexico recently, watching my 'good friend', El Toro in action and I saw something down there called a 'Triple Threat' match. It was a match where three men wrestled each other at once. This seems like a perfect scenario for Southeastern to have a 'Triple Threat" match. ICE: Hey Cheech, do us all a favor right now. I heard your buddy, El Toro is scheduled to be here today. How about you call him out here right now and let him explain to us how a Triple Threat match works. Embry: Dundee, does your Daddy know you snuck out of the house to hitchhike to Alabama to try and play rassler. You need to shut your mouth while grown folks are talkin, man. Al, that sounds like one helluva idea because my understanding of that match is…..I can pin Dutch Mantell and still win the title without pinning the Dog, is that right? Madril: That's exactly right. Three men, one fall. One champion. I could even be the special referee. Stubbs: I'm going to take this idea to Ron Fuller and get a ruling on it, but YOU will NOT be the special referee! Madril: I OBJECT! Stubbs: Overruled! Madril: DAMMIT!! (storms off) Stubbs: I'm going to go talk to Ron Fuller and see if we can make this official. BUT, if you guys come out here and interrupt this show again or if any fights break out among the Texas bunch and the Memphis bunch….you'll all be suspended and both contracts will be null and void! ====================== COMMERCIAL BREAK ====================== MATCH #1: "Pistol" Pez Whatley pinned The Shadow after a flying headbutt Post match: Joe Pedicino catches up to Whatley at ringside Pedicino: After what took place last week, Jerry Stubbs has signed a Lumberjack Match between you and the Great Kabuki. You think you real tough spitting green stuff in people's face, well listen here, SUCKAH…..you better give your soul to the good lord because Thursday night yo a** belongs to me! (big pop from the studio crowd) ====================== MATCH #2: SECW Tag Team Champions 'Team Texas' (Killer Brooks/Jimmy Jack Funk) w/Ronnie P. Gossett defeated Tojo Fargo/Vance Langford when Funk pinned Langford after a knee drop off the 2nd rope to the throat ====================== COMMERCIAL BREAK ====================== MATCH #3: The Memphis Mafia (Doug Gilbert/Dream Machine) w/J.C. Ice Baby defeated The Rock & Soul Express (JT Southern/Derrick Dukes) when Gilbert hit Dukes with a chain while Dundee distracted the referee, allowing Graham to pin Dukes (Post match: Joe Pedicino approaches the Memphis Mafia at ringside) Pedicino: I've just been informed by our General Manager Jerry Stubbs that you guys have been entered into the six team, Tag Team Battle Royal on Thursday night in Birmingham where the winning team will get a shot at the Southeastern Tag Team titles later that same night. Ice: Of course, you're looking at the greatest tag team in the entire southeast right here, Doug Gilbert and the 'Dream Machine' Troy Graham! Those stupid Texans think they got a chance against us? You got one guy that thinks he's the 'Lone Ranger' and the other guy is so old, he was in the curtain jerker when David fought Goliath. Then they got that big fat Humpty Dumpty manager of theirs, Ronnie P. Gossett…..Gossett, if you get near me on Thursday night I'll knock you out! Pedicino: Then why were you running from him last Monday night? Ice: (Dundee lunges at Pedicino as Gilbert & Graham hold him back) HEY FAT BOY, you wanna try to cute with me? I can knock your big fat butt out too! That was strategy when I was running from him, to keep him busy and possibly kill him from a heart attack without getting a murder charge, you idiot! (Jerry Stubbs comes out) Stubbs: Settle down, Dundee or I'll have you thrown out of here! Listen, I came out here to announce that Ron Fuller has made it official. On Thursday night, there will be a Triple Threat match for the Southeastern Heavyweight Championship as Junkyard Dog will defend against both Eric Embry and Dutch Mantell in the same match, but to make it interesting…if either Embry or Mantell get pinned, that person will not get another shot at the title for the remainder of his time with the company. Ice: "WHAT?? Make it interesting?? What the hell are you talking about?? (Gossett comes waddling out followed by Embry) RPG: Has Ron Fuller lost his mind?? We didn't agree to this!! You have to change this!! Is Madril going to be the special referee? (Ron Fuller makes his way into the studio) Fuller: You know, it seems awful funny to me that you guys had a whole lotta confidence when you were both out here demanding title shots earlier in the show, but now it sounds like Gossett and Dundee that neither of you have any confidence in your guys and that you know it's not a matter of IF JYD pins one of your guys, it's just a matter of which one. (Mantell makes his way out as Embry grabs a microphone) Embry: Ron Fuller, the only question about Thursday night is…..which one of those two I'M going to pin! Will it be "Dummy" Dutch or the Junkyard Jerk! Either way I will walk out of the Boutwell Auditorium the new Southeastern Heavyweight Champion and then I want a shot at the USWA World title! Mantell: Well let me tell YOU something Eric not so SLIMbry! (Jerry Stubbs puts his head in his hands) I'll just come right out and say it, I'm NOT going to pin the Dog, because I'm going to pin YOU to ensure you never get another shot that title! RPG: You didn't answer my question! Will Al Madril be the special referee since you're taking his suggestion for this three way match, then you have to let him be the ref! Fuller: Gossett, do you really think I'd never heard of a three way match before that goofball brought it up? NO, I don't have to let Madril be the special referee and I'm not! However, there will be a special guest referee for this match. RPG: Who!?! Who is it?? ICE: Yeah Fuller, spill it! Whose the referee going to be? Fuller: You'll find out Thursday night when he enters the ring and not a moment before! Embry: What a load of crap, Fuller! I could beat those two guys at the same time any day of the week but you putting some handpickedcrooked referee in there, that's not fair! Mantell: Embry, you have woke up and opened your eyes to see the day you could beat me, much less me and the Junkyard Dog. If you're scared then drop out and we'll have a singles match. Embry: Oh sure, you'd love that wouldn't ya, I don't care who the ref is, that belt is going home with me! Fuller: ENOUGH!! The two of you children can agree to the conditions of this match OR as of this moment neither of you will EVER get a title shot as long as I own Southeastern rasslin. Ice: FINE! Let's go boys, after Monday night we'll have the Heavyweight title AND the tag team titles! (Memphis Mafia leave) RPG: Fuller, what is it going to take for me to be the co-host of this show? Fuller: Hell freezing over or me selling the company to somebody who has no class and doesn't care if anyone watches the show. RPG: Hmm, good to know. (Team Texas makes their exit) Fuller: Well, when you boys hit that curtain, keep going. You're done for the day and I don't want to hear anything else out of ANY of you. Charlie, let's get another match going, please. =========================== MATCH #4: Mr. Olympia II defeated Tommy Norris by DQ when the Mercenaries (Ron Starr/Fidel Sierra) hit the ring and attacked Olympia mid match, after a few moments, "Mean" Mike Miller hit the ring with an ax handle and cleaned house on the Mercenaries. (Post match: Joe Pedicino caught up to Olympia II and Miller, Joe asked Miller why he's been coming to the aid of Mr. Olympia II. Miller just calmly states, "I have my reasons……where's Jerry Stubbs?" Pedicino points across the studio and the "interview" is over =========================== MAIN EVENT MATCH #5: U.S. Jr Champion Armando Guerrero/El Toro vs. Vic Steamboat/Chaz Taylor (Before the match could start, GM Jerry Stubbs made his way out and took the microphone) Stubbs: Hey, Mando. Before this match gets started, I need a favor. I need you to call your attorney out here, I need to speak him right now. (Armando looks panicked and El Toro even seems a bit uneasy, Armando asks for a mic) Armando: He's not here. Stubbs: What do you mean he's not here? He was out here earlier in the show with Gossett. Armando: (confers with El Toro) He WAS here but he left. He had to go to court. Stubbs: He had to go to court as 9 o'clock at night? (Armando leans in and Toro whispers something to him) Armando: Haven't you seen that show, "Night Court"? That's where he is, he's night court. Stubbs: El Toro, tell me where Al Madril really is, he's not in court. (El Toro shakes his head no) Armando: El Toro speaks no english. He can't answer you. But I assure you he doesn't know. Stubbs: I speak a little espanol, let him tell me in Spanish. (Armando's eye bug out a bit and El Toro shakes his head no even more emphatically, before Stubbs can continue Guerrero and El Toro rush over and attack Steamboat/Taylor) It's a wild melee, Stubbs tells Platt to go to break while they try to restore order to start the match. ====================== COMMERCIAL BREAK ====================== MAIN EVENT MATCH #5: Vic Steamboat/Chaz Taylor defeated Armando Guerrero/El Toro when Steamboat pinned Guerrero with a small package in 8:11. Southeastern Championship Wrestling presents NEW YEAR'S KNOCKOUT '91 Boutwell Auditorium Birmingham, Alabama Thursday January 1, 1991 Bell Time: 6pm Mr. Olympia II pinned "Rotten" Ron Starr with a backslide. After the match Fidel Sierra hit the ring and attacked Olympia from behind, Starr quickly recovered and joined Starr in double teaming Olympia until "Mean" Mike Miller ran in with a chair, the Mercenaries hold Olympia up by each arm for Miller to hit him. Miller draws back the chair and much to everyone's surprise he cracks Sierra over the head with the chair and then Ron Starr….clearing the "bad guys" out of the ring. Miller then helps Olympia off the mat and helps him back to the locker room and gets a round of applause from the Birmingham fans. Before the next match that was scheduled to be Vic Steamboat vs. Alberto Madril - Attorney at Law, Armando Guerrero came down to the ring and announced that Alberto was "busy with a very high profile important case" but he has sent a "suitable replacement from Mexico", a "famous luchador" known as El Toro. Vic Steamboat wrestled El Toro to a 15 minute time limit draw. After the match, Steamboat grabbed the mic and asked the referee for five more minutes with the masked El Toro who responded with "No mas" and quickly left. (one particularly loud fan was heard yelling, "You're a coward, Madril!" as El Toro left ringside) U.S. Jr. Heavyweight Championship - Rematch Al Madril is banned from the building Armando Guerrero pinned Chaz Taylor in a fast paced match that looked like it was going to end with Chaz Taylor as the new U.S. Jr Champion, but as Chaz went up to the top rope for a dropkick, El Toro ran down and pushed him off as Guerrero had grabbed the ref as he struggle to get back to his feel…..after Chaz crashed to the mat, Armando quickly caught Taylor with an Oklahoma roll to get the pin as El Toro scurried away from ringside Southeastern Tag Team Championship Semi-Final The Party Patrol (Johnny/Davey Rich) defeated Rod Price/Terrance M. Garvin w/Dark Journey when Johnny pinned Garvin with a "Thesz Press" Southeastern Tag Team Championship Semi-Final Team Texas (Jimmy Jack Funk/Killer Brooks) w/RPG defeated Rex King of The Southern Rockers in a handicap match when Funk pinned King after a shoulder breaker. Doll was unable to compete after he suffered a broken orbital bone during the post match attack by the Harris Twins on TV on Saturday Special Challenge Match "Pistol" Pez Whatley fought The Great Kabuki w/RPG to a "no contest" when Whatley and Kabuki were brawling out on the floor and referee couldn't get order restored SEMI-MAIN EVENT Southeastern Tag Team Championship Finals Team Texas (Jimmy Jack Funk/Killer Tim Brooks) w/RPG defeated The Party Patrol (Davey/Johnny Rich) when Gossett distracted the referee and allowing Funk to hit Davey in the head with his cowbell and get the pin to win the Southeastern Tag Team Titles MAIN EVENT Southeastern Heavyweight Championship Junkyard Dog VS. "Flamboyant" Eric Embry w/RPG About 8 minutes into the match, Jamie Dundee came to ringside. Gossett comes over and confronts Dundee and they proceed to argue…..Jamie waves towards the crowd and moments later from out of the crowd comes the Dream Machine, Doug Gilbert, and Dutch Mantell they hit the ring and attack the Junkyard Dog…….Dutch starts choking JYD with his bullwhip as the referee calls for the bell to call for the disqualification on Embry. Embry shoves the Dream Machine asks, "what the hell are yall doing?" Gossett is hilariously chasing Dundee around the ring and about to have a heart attack in the process. Embry shoves Troy Graham again and Doug Gilbert blasts Embry from behind, they start to triple team Embry (JYD has been choked out) Team Texas consisting of Killer Brooks, Jimmy Jack Funk, and Kabuki all run in to even the odds. Pez Whatley runs down and continues his brawl with Kabuki. Meanwhile the brawl continues between the others as security and the other wrestlers come down to try and restore order as the fans start to leave.

Pedicino: Thanks, Charlie….what a show we have in store for everyone this week as we will be kicking off the Southeastern Tag Team Championship tournament right here on television with all four first round matches with the semi-finals and finals taking place this Thursday at 'New Year's Knockout' in Birmingham at the Boutwell Auditorium. Platt: Absolutely, after the great Southeastern title tournament that took place last week that saw the Junkyard Dog come out on top as the new Southeastern Heavyweight Champion. (Before Platt could continue, the theme song from "the People's Court" comes over the speakers in the studio and out comes Alberto Madril, Attorney at Law followed closely behind by Ronnie P. Gossett, Ron Fuller comes down from the control room to see what's happening) RPG: As promised, I have brought my lawyer with me, this is Alberto Madril, Attorney at Law…..the best in the business. Madril: Ron Fuller, this man Ronnie P. Gossett should rightfully be the co-host of Southeastern Championship Wrestling and you are discriminating against my client. This is a case of discrimination, segregation, and it's an abomination that he is being discriminated against, because you want to give the job to a disgusting, fat slob like Joe Al-Pacino! Fuller: Madril, I don't know what Cracker Jack box you claim to have gotten a law degree from but I am NOT making Ronnie P. Gossett the co-host of this show! Madril: I OBJECT! Fuller: Overruled! Madril: DAMMIT!! That always happens! RPG: Now you listen to me, Ron Fuller! I suspected you'd pull this crap! I may not be the co-host, yet! But, there's nothing you can do about this…..show him, Alberto! Madril: Show him what? RPG: (looking annoyed) The LICENSE! Madril: Oh….oh…..my mistake. (Madril reaches in his right pocket and hands over a license to Fuller) Fuller: Why are you showing me your driver's license? RPG: Madril, what the hell are you doing?? Madril: OH….my bad. Wrong pocket! (reaches in his left pocket and hands Fuller a different license) Fuller: Ok, so Gossett has a manager's license. Who cares? He doesn't have any wrestlers that I would book. RPG: Oh yes you do, Fuller. One of the teams booked into the tag team title tournament. Killer Tim Brooks and Jimmy Jack Funk are under contract to me. I also have another big surprise for you later in the show. Fuller: If you wanna surprise me Gossett, do a push up or touch your toes. Madril: How dare you speak to my client that way. This meeting is over! Come on Ronald. (Gossett waddles away followed by Madril as the People's Court theme plays again) Platt: Fans, we apologize for Gossett and his alleged attorney interrupting the show. Let's take a quick commercial break and we'll return with our first, first round match in the tag team title tournament. ========================== COMMERCIAL BREAK ========================== SOUTHEASTERN TAG TEAM TITLE TOURNAMENT - Round One MATCH #1: The Southern Rockers (Steve Doll/Rex King) defeated The Bruise Brothers (Don/Ron Harris) by DQ when Don Harris hit Steve Doll with a chair while fighting on the floor. Once the bell rang and the Harris Twins heard the outcome they proceeded to attack both King and Doll with chairs until the locker rooms cleared out to help put a stop to this mugging, Platt pitches to a pre-recorded interview with the Junkyard Dog ------------------------------------------- (Joe Pedicino was backstage earlier with the Southeastern Champion JYD) Pedicino: JYD, let me be the first to congratulate you on becoming the Southeastern Champion. JYD: (looks down at the belt on his shoulder) Joe, it feels good to have some gold on my shoulder, but it feels good and it's going to take one helluva man to take this title from me! Pedicino: Well Dog, the man you defeated in the finals, "California Stud" Rod Price seems to think he should be the one to get the first shot at the title. JYD: Well, that's up to Ron Fuller or Jerry Stubbs or whoever makes those decisions. They put the contract in front of me and I'll sign off to wrestle anybody they say deserves a shot. But it seems to me, Rod Price needs to get that little floozy he brings to the ring with him under control where she ain't out there spraying hairspray or whatever that was in his eyes. Pedicino: Good call, Dog. I guess we'll just have to wait and see who the office decides is the number one contender. JYD: Exactly, now if you'll excuse me……it's feedin' time for the Dog! ======================== COMMERCIAL BREAK ======================== (As the show returns, we see Charlie and Joe at the desk but before they can speak, they are once again interrupted by an unexpected guest who is dressed in wild colored baggy pants, and a t-shirt that says "Memphis Mafia" on the front) Platt: (Platt comes around the desk to meet him) I'm sorry, sir. I don't have you on our format. ICE: SIR?? Charlie Platt, don't act like you don't know who I am….you know good and well, I'm Jamie Dundee aka J.C. Ice Baby. Platt: Yes Jamie, I know who you are, but you're still not on my format. ICE: Well, I didn't know if you guys even had a format. You got fat pigs and mexican wannabe lawyers just coming out here lobbying for a job, well I'm wanna throw my hat in the ring. Platt: Hat in what ring? ICE: To be the co-host! I'd be a much better co-host than either of those fat slobs, Gossett or Pedicino! Platt: Listen, Joe Pedicino IS the co-host and that's that. You can call Ronnie Gossett whatever names you want, but you aren't going to come out here uninvited and insult my co-host. ICE: Whose going to do something about it? YOU? (Dundee gets in Platt's face) You gonna stop me, Chuck? (Jerry Stubbs comes rushing out to the desk) Stubbs: Jamie, I told you on the phone already. The position has been filled and even if it wasn't…..this isn't how you go about getting a job. I know your father raised you better than this. ICE: First of all, I'll do things any way I want and the second thing….I wish I could go ONE DAY of my life without somebody throwing my father up in my face. Bill Dundee ain't here, I'm my own man and I do things MY WAY! Stubbs: Well, you can do it your way somewhere else. Don't make me call security. ICE: Hold up, chrome dome. Ronnie Gossett's fat a** ain't the only with a manager's license. (pulls out a manger's license) Read it and weep, Stubby! Stubbs: Big deal, you don't manage anyone who works here, so beat it. ICE: You listen to me Jerry Stubbs, all I gotta do is pick up the telephone and call some of my boys and I'll have the Memphis Mafia down here in Alabama and we'll run this place. Stubbs: Judging by your breath you need to call yourself a cab and get the hell out of here……NOW! Southeastern Championship Wrestling Ep. 1 From the WTVY Channel 4 Studios in Dothan, Alabama Airing on various stations across Alabama & Mississippi Pre-recorded airing on the weekend of 12/20/90 Host: Charlie Platt Co-Host: Joe Pedicino (the show opens with a montage of random Southeastern Wrestling clips from the different incarnations over the years, we then go to the desk to our hosts Charlie Platt and Joe Pedicino!) Platt: Hello and welcome everyone to the return of Southeastern Championship Wrestling, I'm Charlie Platt and it's my pleasure to introduce my co-host the one and only Joe Pedicino. Pedicino: Thank you Charlie, I'm so excited to be here and to be involved in this revival of Southeastern Championship Wrestling, right here in Dothan, Alabama. Platt: I like that term, 'revival'. That's exactly what's happening as we return here to the WTVY studios in Dothan, Alabama and we've got some of the best wrestlers in the country on their way here to compete and right now I want to bring out the promoter and the man who is making all this happen, the one and only 'Tennessee Stud' Ron Fuller! (Fuller comes out in a suit and his signature cowboy hat) Fuller: Thank you Charlie, it's great to back here in Dothan, Alabama where the best wrestling fans in the world reside! (cheap pop from the studio audience, before he can continue Ronnie P. Gossett comes waddling out) Platt: Gossett, what in the world are you doing here? RPG: First of all, that's MR. Gossett to you Charlie Platt! Fuller, you know as well as I do that there was ONE REASON you had success on television with all these different promotions you've ran over the years and that was because I was the co-host! I carried Charlie Platt on my back like he was a casualty of war and when I got wind you were reviving Southeastern, I reached out to you every way I knew how! I called your phone number, I sent letters, I sent four faxes, and checked every arrest record in the Southeastern states and I couldn't track you down until right here TODAY! I will be the co-host of this show! Fuller: (points at Pedicino) As you can see Gossett, I already have a co-host who will be far more professional and do a MUCH better job than you ever have or ever could! RPG: Are you kidding me Fuller? You're trying to revive Southeastern and you bring in this fat slob to be the co-host? He doesn't know a wrist lock from a wrist watch, but I bet he knows the difference between original and extra crispy! Fuller: Gossett, give me a break. You calling somebody fat is like….well, you calling somebody ugly. Take a look in the mirror, tubby! RPG: Ron Fuller, you listen to me you big lanky CON MAN! I didn't come here to be insulted! I know a great attorney and I'll be contacting him about this, but in the meantime…..I still have an active manager's license and I'm going to go round up the toughest bunch of wrestlers I can find and I don't mean any of these deadbeats from Alabama or Mississippi….or even your beloved Tennessee! Oh no, I'm going to a place where the men are men and the women know it….TEXAS! I'll see you soon, you ingrate! (GOSSETT waddles away angry) Fuller: Charlie Platt, can you believe he had the nerve to call ME a CON MAN? Gossett once sold a territory that didn't even belong to him! Well, you go right ahead and bring whoever you can find…..from what I hear you spend a LOT of time hanging out in places where the MEN are MEN and the women aren't welcome, if you know what I mean. Platt: "Oh my" Fuller: Anyway, what I came out here to announce before the doughboy interrupted. Our first event will be on Christmas night at the Boutwell Auditorium and it will be called, "Violent Night". We'll announce some of the names here on TV today that will be competing in a one night tournament to crown a Southeastern Heavyweight Champion. Pedicino: I understand we'll announce some names but there will also be some surprises as well. Fuller: That's right, it's going to be a wild night and we hope everyone comes out to join us on Christmas night, everything in town is closed and you'll be tired of your family by bell time so come on down and join us! (Mando Guererro comes out carrying the championship belt wearing a three piece suit) Armando: Pedicino, get it right….I go by ARMANDO now. Not Mando. Pedicino: My sincere apologies, I wasn't aware. It's been a while since I've seen you, in fact I don't know if I've been around you since that PWF promotion in Florida a couple of years ago where you were dubbed 'the Opportunist', thanks to your questionable tactics. Armando: First of all, I NEVER use questionable tactics. I never cheat or break the rules….but I will take advantage when an opportunity presents itself. I would suggest you watch your mouth as it pertains to any 'alleged' questionable tactics or I'll be forced to contact my attorney. Pedicino: Ohhh yeah, that's right. Is Al Madril still your lawyer? Armando: That's Alberto Madril, Attorney at Law….and yes, he certainly is! He's never lost a single case! Matlock has nothing on Alberto. Pedicino: Wonderful, let's get down to business. I understand you'll be defending that U.S. Jr. title on today's show against a young man by the name of Chaz Taylor who is a great up and coming star in pro wrestling. Armando: Are you kidding me right now, amigo? Spaz Taylor is a skinny punk kid who doesn't deserve to share a locker room with me, much less the ring….but if Ron Fuller wants me to put this punk kid through the ringer…I will, but you did got something wrong….this is NOT a title match. He's not even a contender and I'm not here to do charity work. So, yes there will be a match with Spaz Taylor….but NO, it's not a title match. You want me to defend my title on your little TV show, find me a REAL contender. You know what….I'm bored…..that's enough of this. Pedicino: There you have it from the United States Junior Heavyweight Champion, let's head back to the ring. ============================= MATCH #2: Terrance M. Garvin w/Dark Journey pinned "Pistol" Pez Whatley with his feet on the ropes Afterwards, Whatley argued with referee Larry Brock that Garvin's feet were on the ropes but Journey quickly shuffled Garvin out of the studio as the show went to break ============================= COMMERCIAL BREAK ============================= (VTR- A highlight video of the Junkyard Dog is shown featuring highlights from throughout his career) ----------------------------------------------- (Joe Pedicino is joined in the interview area by Ron Fuller) Pedicino: Ron, I understand you have another announcement at this time you want to share. Fuller: That's right, Joe. While I am the promoter of Southeastern Wrestling, I can't be at every show and I can't run this thing by myself, that's why I've hired on a familiar face as the 'General Manager' and matchmaker here in Southeastern and I want to call him out here right now, the man many of you may know better as the masked man, Mr. Olympia….but now you'll come to know him more as Jerry Stubbs. (Stubbs comes out wearing a suit with a fedora and shakes hands with Pedicino and Fuller) Stubbs: Thanks Ron, I've somewhat retired from the sport of professional wrestling. I still have a match from time to time on random shows here and there but my days as a full time wrestler are behind me. I appreciate this opportunity and I have a lot of great ideas and plans for the future that I think the fans will find very exciting. Pedicino: That's great to hear, Jerry. I know I'm just as excited as the fans are to see some of these cards you've booked for the towns coming up and I've also heard a rumor that while Jerry Stubbs may have retired, Mr. Olympia may not have retired. Stubbs: (chuckles) Well, Joe I wasn't going to bring that up just yet but since you said it let me clarify something right now. No, I'm not breaking my retirement by donning the Mr. Olympia mask and returning to the ring. However, I was approached by a guy that I've known a long time that I have a tremendous amount of respect for that says he's in the home stretch of his wrestling career and he expressed interest in carrying on the legacy of Mr. Olympia as Mr. Olympia 2. I told him as long as Ron is not opposed to it, it's perfectly fine with me. Fuller: I don't have any problem with it, whatsoever Jerry. If he's half the wrestler you were, he'll be a welcome addition to the roster. Pedicino: There you have it folks, Jerry Stubbs is the new matchmaker and general manager of Southeastern and we will have a new Mr. Olympia in action soon. Let's go to the ring! ============================= MATCH #3: The Mercenaries (Fidel Sierra/Ron Starr) defeated Barney Lunde/Phil Eadie when Starr pinned Lunde after a neckbreaker ============================= COMMERCIAL BREAK featuring a promo for 'VIOLENT NIGHT' taking place on Christmas night at Boutwell Auditorium in Birmingham featuring a one night eight man tournament to crown a new Southeastern Heavyweight Champion. Among those competing: the Junkyard Dog, Vic Steamboat, the Great Kabuki, "California Stud" Rod Price, and more! ============================= (Joe Pedicino is in the interview area with Dark Journey & Rod Price) Pedicino: Dark Journey, this man Rod Price will be one of the competitors in the tournament to crown a Southeastern Heavyweight Champion. DJ: No, he won't be COMPETING, because those other seven wrestlers aren't competition for Rod Price, he WILL be winning the Southeastern Heavyweight Championship which in turn will make him a contender for the USWA World Heavyweight Championship and that will be next on our agenda. Pedicino: Rod, you'll be facing Mr. Olympia 2 in the first round. What do you know about the Jerry Stubbs' new protégé? (Price tuns away from Pedicino) DJ: Mr. Price will not speak to you Joe Pedicino, you direct any and all questions towards me. The fact of the matter is we have no clue who this so called, Mr. Olympia 2 is but I know it seems like a conflict of interest that the matchmaker is allowed to put someone he considers a "protégé" into a tournament for the heavyweight championship. We could try to protest or refuse to wrestle this man, but instead….the California Stud is going to beat everyone who steps into his path on Christmas night and his gift to me will be that brand new Southeastern championship belt on my mantle. Pedicino: There you have it from Dark Journey, she has all the confidence in the world in Rod Price and I can't say I'm betting against him. ============================== MATCH #4: United States Jr. Heavyweight Champion - Armando Guerrero vs. Chaz Taylor Recap: Guerrero started out very confident…almost arrogant getting the better of the first few exchanges after locking up with young Chaz. However, after Taylor blocked Mando's attempt at a monkey flip out of the corner, Taylor hit a series of successful moves including two dropkicks a flying crossbody off the top rope. Chaz had momentum going his way until Guerrero finally cut him off with a blatant thumb to the eye. Armando then used the laces of his boots to rake Taylor's eyes again. He followed that up by choking him across the second rope. Amando falls back into being a bit cocky again as he works over his much younger and inexperienced opponent. Guerrero hits back to back snap suplexes. He covers Taylor but pulls him up as the referee counts two. Armando laughs and wags his finger, "no, no, no not yet!" He points to the top turnbuckle. Armando places Chaz up on the top turnbuckle and turns to yell out to the fans, "Now the champ is gonna show you hicks a SUPERPLEX!" Guerrero steps up to the 2nd rope but Chaz blasts him with a big forearm shot that knocks Guerrero down to the mat! As a dazed Guerrero starts to get up off the mat, Chaz comes off the top rope with a sunset flip…..and the referee counts 1--2--3!! The studio crowd goes wild! Chaz quickly slips out of the ring to celebrate with the fans as Armando pitches a "hissy fit" in the ring! Chaz motions towards his waist that "next time I'll take your title!" as he heads back through the curtain. Armando storms over to the commentary desk! Platt: Good thing you didn't put the title on the line today, Mando. Guerrero: First of all, it's ARMANDO! Second of all, that was a fast count from that lousy referee! Where did you find him? Is he from Alabama? This was a setup, Charlie Platt! I'll have my attorney Alberto Madril, Attorney at Law here next week and we're going to sue that referee, we're going to sue YOU, we're going to sue Ron Fuller, Robert Fuller, Kurt Fuller….we're going to sue Jerry Stubbs, we're going to sue all the Mr. Olympias, and we're going to sue Joe Cappuccino, I'll own this place, you hear me?!?! (Armando grabs his championship belt and storms off as the fans mock him and laugh) ================================= COMMERCIAL BREAK ================================= MAIN EVENT MATCH #5: "California Stud" Rod Price w/Dark Journey pinned J.T. Southern with a school boy roll up with a handful of tights ================================= Platt: Rod Price steals one from J.T. Southern, fans join us on Christmas night and find out who will be crowned the Southeastern Heavyweight Champion, plus….just signed by matchmaker Jerry Stubbs, based on today's win here in television, Chaz Taylor will challenge Armando Guerrero for the U.S. Jr. Heavyweight title that night as well!

PWF TV Episode #8 - RECAP Airing on 12/28/89 The Sportatorium Tampa, Florida Hosts: Jim Ross & Joe Pedicino After the normal opening, Ross & Pedicino give a brief rundown of the happenings at Christmas Homecoming. Pedicino says Mando Guerrero informed him we’ll be hearing from his attorney, ‘Alberto Madril, Attorney at Law’ (to which Ross replies “good grief”) Ross says that the PWF tag team champions will be here in action this week along with Dark Journey. We’ll also see the debut of Steve Simpson, and hear from “Superstar” Bill Dundee. Pedicino added that “Top Gun and Ricky Santana, who the fans have dubbed ‘the Danger Zone’ have issued a challenge to The Mercenaries to meet them here in a tag team rematch next week. Ross mentioned that we’ll get a status update on the Armstrongs who were apparently attacked in the parking lot after Christmas Homecoming by all three Guerreros and their “lawyer” Al Madril. The opening match saw Steve Simpson pin Thunderfoot #1 with a flying crossbody off the top rope A post match promo from Kendall Windham aired that was recorded in the dressing room immediately following his Texas Death Match with Dory Funk Jr. As Windham was taking off his boots, he said that he let his family down, he let himself down, but most importantly he let the fans down. He said that maybe he doesn’t have what it takes to carry on the Windham legacy in wrestling. He said he doesn’t deserve to wear these boots. He sets them down in the middle of the locker room and walks out. They cut back to Ross and Pedicino who ponder what the future holds for Kendall and if that meant what they think it meant? The second match saw the PWF Tag Team Champions “Hollywood” John Tatum & Jack Victory w/Dark Journey defeat The Southern Rockers (Rex King & Steve Doll) when Tatum pinned King with a roll up and a handful of tights A post match promo saw DJ and the boys gloat about their victory over the Rich Cousins at Christmas Homecoming. When asked about Rod Price’s loss to Cannonball Grizzly, Dark Journey said that was merely an unfortunate setback, but unlike Kendall Windham, Price isn’t going to take his ball and go home like that anorexic cowboy. He’ll be back stronger than ever, when you least expect it! After a commercial break….. A vignette aired of “Son of the Beach” Cannonball Grizzly hanging out at the beach celebrating his victory over Rod Price with some friends when a guy in a wetsuit with short blond hair strolls up carrying a surfboard. Grizzly greets him, “Yo, what’s up Sandy? How ya been?” Sandman takes a drag off his cigarette before replying, “I’m good, Grizz. Good to see you back on the beach now that you beat the California Dud. What do you say we go out and catch a wave or two….then you and I go after those tag team titles that Dark Journey is so proud of?” Grizzly ponders it for a moment…”A tag team you say? Dude, I’m totally down for that!” Sandman offers him a drag off his cigarette to which Grizzly politely declines. Sandman nods and says, “So now…Dark Journey has to contend with TWO Sons of the Beach!” As they return to Jim Ross, he’s joined by “Superstar” Bill Dundee who is demanding a rematch with Mando Guerrero for the title and cites the interference by what he refers to as “Mando’s bogus lawyer, Al Madril” As he finishes that sentence, the ‘People’s Court’ music hits which brings out ‘Alberto Madril, Attorney at Law’ followed by Mando, Chavo, and Hector Guerrero. Madril comes out and immediately says, “I OBJECT!” Ross responds, “Overruled!” Madril cries, “Dammit! That ALWAYS works on TV!” Mando nudges him forward. Madril sets his briefcase up on the podium and opens it up, he pulls out a large book that just says ‘Tha Rule Book’ on the cover. Madril states, “According to Article 47, subsection 6, as was amended on April 17, 1972. Thy Champion shalt only defend thou title once every 30 days. Therefore, Lord Littlebrook here will not be eligible for a rematch for another 26 days at which time he can submit a request for a rematch that we will take before the judge. Dundee snaps and yells, “You aren’t a lawyer, you goof!” Madril calmly replies, “Sir, I formally request you refrain from disparaging my reputation as an attorney or I will sue you for everything you’re worth, which as I understand it is just a few cheap knockoff Elvis jumpsuits and a booster seat for your car.” Dundee yells, “Mulligan, what kind of a Mickey Mouse dog and pony show are you running down here? Is this some kind of a joke?” Mando interjects, “Counselor, will you please inform Tiny Elvis of the legal precedent in which our case is predicated on, good sir.” Madril says, “If it pleases the court, I would like to approach the bench.” Ross, who is getting annoyed, responds, “This isn’t a court and this is a podium, not a bench. What is happening right now?” Madril adds, “Need I remind you in the case of Gotch vs. Hackenschmidt of 1908, it was established…” Blackjack Mulligan comes storming out and interrupts, “That’s just about enough of this dadgum mess! There WILL be a rematch for the PWF Junior Heavyweight title with Mando Guerrero defending against “Superstar” Bill Dundee here in two weeks!” Madril: “I OBJECT!” BJM: “OVERRULED!” Madril: “DAMMIT!” BJM: “If you and the Guerreros don’t get out of here right now, I’ll strip him of the title and GIVE it to Dundee!” The People’s Court music resumes as Madril and Guerreros leave as Madril shakes “Da Rule Book” in Mulligan’s face as they depart. Mulligan says the Armstrong’s injuries were minimal from the attack by the Guerreros and they will return soon looking for another match with Chavo and Hector. The third match saw Rasta the VooDoo Mon w/Sir Oliver Humperdink pin Robbie Rogers after a shoulder breaker They air a clip of “Gorgeous” Jimmy Powers & “Mean” Mike Miller defeating Frankie Lancaster at Christmas Homecoming. Jim Ross says that Lancaster wants another match with Powers but Precious has stated he has to face “Mean” Mike Miller again on today’s show and if he can beat Miller, Powers will face him in a one on one match. In the fourth match: Frankie Lancaster pinned “Mean” Mike Miller with a small package After a commercial break, Sir Oliver Humperdink comes out to gloat about Dory Funk Jr’s win over Kendall Windham at Christmas Homecoming and he also puts over his newest “find” Rasta the VooDoo Mon. He adds that the contract has been signed for the Mercenaries to face Top Gun & Ricky Santana in a ‘lumberjack match’ next week and that they will in fact be in the ‘danger zone’ when Gilbert & Starr gets through with them! (they played the old “People’s Court theme as Madril came to ringside) They tried to get the match postponed, Mulligan told him the match would not be postponed and added that Hector & Chavo would be handcuffed to the Armstrongs at ringside during the match to which Madril screamed “I object”, Mulligan shouted back “overruled” and threatened to hold Madril in contempt which Madril dropped to his knees and sold like a babyface comeback. PWF TV Episode #7 - RECAP Airing on 12/21/89 The Sportatorium Tampa, Florida Hosts: Jim Ross & Joe Pedicino The show opened with a clip of Bill Dundee getting the win last week to secure his PWF Junior Heavyweight title match on this week’s show. Ross & Pedicino opened the show letting us know that Blackjack Mulligan informed them before they went on the air that the PWF Heavyweight title match at Christmas Homecoming between Dory Funk Jr and Kendall Windham will be a Texas Death Match! They also let everyone know that Top Gun has accepted the challenge from the Mercenaries last week and he will be facing Doug Gilbert on today’s show! Ross adds that he was pleasantly surprised to learn that Mando Guerrero did not try to fight having to defend his title this week against Bill Dundee and that Mulligan confirmed that Mando’s attorney faxed over the contract just before the show went on the air, so that title match will be happening as well! The opening match saw Rasta the VooDoo Mon makes his PWF debut defeating Billy Owens by submission. Before the match, Rasta tapped his “voodoo stick” as Jim Ross referred to it against his own shoulder and then pointed to Owens’ shoulder, Owens started touching his shoulder and struggling to move his arm before the match. This led to Rasta eventually making him submit with a simple armbar in 2:21 Then they went to a promo from PWF Champion Dory Funk Jr & Sir Oliver Humperdink who say that Kendall Windham must be adopted or “unloved” by his “Daddy Flapjack Mulligan” for Mulligan to put his own kid in an “unwinnable” situation like taking on a Funk in a Texas Death Match, Dory says his father invented the Texas Death Match and now Kendall’s father has sentenced him to death by putting him in one with a member of the Funk family. In the second match of the show, Scott/Steve Armstrong defeated Thunderfoots #1/#2. During the match, Pedicino announced that Scott/Steve will be facing Chavo/Hector Guerrero at Christmas Homecoming on Christmas night. We hear from Frankie Lancaster who says he’s heard that “Gorgeous” Jimmy Powers is mad that not only did Frankie beat him, but he beat his “flunky” Mike Miller too, Lancaster says he’ll gladly beat either or both of them again. Anytime, anywhere! In the third match: “Son of the Beach” Cannonball Grizzly pinned The Intern after the “Cannonball” senton splash from the top rope. During the match, Ross stated that Grizzly is more focused than he’s ever seen him leading into his “Beach Brawl Last Man Standing Match” with Rod Price at Christmas Homecoming. After the match, Pedicino was joined in the interview area by the Guerreros. Hector quickly mentioned that they will show the Armstrongs why the Guerreros are “the greatest family in the history of wrestling”. Mando says that “anyone who isn’t tall enough to ride ANY of the rides at Disneyland shouldn’t be given a title match” but since he's the greatest champion of this generation…he’s giving Dundee a shot anyway. After taking a few shots at the injured Mike Graham, Pedicino tried to wrap up the interview, but Mando mentions, “before I go, make sure that big dumb cowboy you’ve got running the place read over that contract my attorney drew up so he’s clear on all the details”. The Guerreros all walk away laughing. Pedicino mutters, “that can’t be good” as he pitches to break. When we return from the commercial break, Pedicino is joined by Blackjack Mulligan. BJM says he admits he “ain’t much of an office guy” and says he’s apparently been “who dood” by Mando Guerrero’s attorney. He says that Mando’s attorney did send over a signed contract for Mando to defend the PWF Jr title on today’s show against Bill Dundee and that he signed it and immediately had Dundee sign it and fax it back over before Mando could try to “weasel his way out of it”. Blackjack said he had “left his glasses in his pick up” when he read over the contract and what he thought was a 30 MINUTE TIME LIMIT for this title match actually reads 3 MINUTE TIME LIMIT. Pedicino then asks, “So, you’re telling us everyone has signed the contract that Mando’s attorney drew up and sent over and that this week’s show will feature a PWF Jr. Heavyweight Championship Match between the champion, “The Opportunist” Mando Guerrero and challenger “Superstar” Bill Dundee with a THREE MINUTE TIME LIMIT?? Mulligan replies, “I’m embarrassed as hell…but, yeah..that’s what I’m telling you. Mulligan hands the contract to Pedicino and hangs his head and starts to walk away. Dundee comes rushing out and tells Mulligan, “that’s just fine, that just means I’ll have to beat him fast…you keep those other Guerreros away from the ring and I’m still going to walk outta here the champ, brother!” In the fourth match, Top Gun came out to a big “pop” from the fans to the Kenny Loggins “Danger Zone” song. Mulligan, still fired up from the Guerrero contract debacle came out with his ax handle and told Humperdink and Ron Starr to “get their butts back to the dressing room if they know what’s good for ‘em!” Surprisingly, they left with little push back. Top Gun would go on to defeat “Dirty” Doug Gilbert by pinfall with a small package! After the pin, Starr hit the ring and attacked Top Gun but before the double teaming could really commence, Ricky Santana ran in and made the save! Ross says, “it looks like the Top Gun has a wingman, Joe!” We hear from Precious who says they accept Frankie Lancaster’s challenge to a handicap match and since he said anytime, anywhere..she said they want it at Christmas Homecoming. Ross says that Lancaster didn’t challenge them to a handicap match. Precious says, “watch the tape back, Ross. He said he’ll gladly beat either one…or both. So, let’s see him try to back up his back talk on Christmas night!” After the last break, they showed a quick highlight reel of the Richs vs. Tatum/Victory/Dark Journey feud leading up to the steel cage tag team title match at Christmas Homecoming. Then on to the main event! Mando comes to the ring first, alone! Mando announces “just to prove that’s I’m a brave fighting champion, I’ve told my brothers to leave the Sportatorium prior to this match.” Dundee then comes down and gets the mic and says, “Brave fighting champion? I guess that’s why you and your crooked lawyer set a three minute time limit? I heard your old lady said that even three minutes is more than you’ve got in ya, ya punk!” Mando is livid and tries to get at Dundee as the ref has to hold him back! Ross on commentary points out that this is a “genius strategy” by Dundee to anger Guerrero to make him come after him, rather than running from him for three minutes! MATCH #5 MAIN EVENT PWF Junior Heavyweight Championship ***3 MINUTE TIME LIMIT*** “The Opportunist” Mando Guerrero vs. “Superstar” Bill Dundee The moment the bell rings, Mando who only seconds earlier was trying to get at Dundee, laughs & points to his head and jumps out out of the ring to the floor. Dundee comes out after him and the chase is on! After a couple of minutes of running, ducking, and dodging, Mando finally gets caught by Dundee who is all over him and trying his damndest to get him in pindning combinations but despite Dundee’s best effort, the time limit expires, Mando retains! Mulligan comes to ringside and announces there will be a rematch for the title at Christmas Homecoming with a 30 minute time limit. Mando says, he’s attorney won’t allow it, he’s already made his mandatory title defense for this thirty days. BJM says, “we’ll see about that.” As Jim Ross is signing off, Pedicino interrupts and says, “Did anyone look at the signature of Mando’s attorney? Does that say what I think it says? Ross replies, “Are you kidding me? When did he go to law school?” Pedicino says “More importantly, when did he pass the bar exam?” Ross closes with “Fans, here’s a rundown of the full card for Christmas Homecoming this Wednesday night on Christmas. There will be a PWF Championship match between Dory Funk Jr and Kendall Windham and Blackjack Mulligan will reveal the stipulations next week. There will also be a ‘Last Man Standing Beach Brawl’ between Cannonball Grizzly and Rod Price. Plus an PWF Tag Team Title Rematch with Tatum & Victory defending against former champs Johnny & Davey Rich in a Steel Cage Match! More to be announced later in the show! Opening match saw the Great Kabuki w/Sir Oliver Humperdink over a local talent A new teaser video for Rasta the VooDoo Mon aired The Southern Rockers (Rex King/Steve Doll) got a victory over the Mercenaries (Doug Gilbert/Ron Starr) w/Sir Oliver Humperdink when a masked man that Jim Ross speculated was known as ‘Top Gun’ (due to it being air brushed on his t-shirt) came out and attacked Humperdink, causing Gilbert to come out and try to defend Humperdink getting him more of what Hump got as in the confusion Ron Starr got rolled up by King for the Rockers’ win! A backstage promo from Jimmy Powers and Precious protested getting put into a cage being hung up over the ring fell on deaf ears as Pedicino let them know it was coming up next! Frankie Lancaster pinned “Mean” Mike Miller with a backslide as Powers/Precious hung 15 feet above the ring in a cage After the match, we go to the interview area to an angry, screaming promo from Humperdink and the Mercenaries who are convinced that ‘Top Gun’ is Fidel Sierra and they call him a coward and challenge him to show up next week and face one of them in a singles match. Kendall Windham pinned Thunderfoot after a running bulldog Post match, Windham cut a promo saying regardless of the stipulation, the PWF Championship will be his Christmas present when he pins Dory Funk Jr and brings it home on Christmas night! In the main event- “Superstar” Bill Dundee pinned Chavo Guerrero to secure his PWF Jr Heavyweight title shot next week against Mando Guerrero when Scott & Steve Armstrong ran out and prevented Mando & Hector Guerrero from interfering on Chavo’s behalf!

PWF TV Episode #5 Airing on 12/7/89 The Sportatorium Tampa, Florida Hosts: Jim Ross & Joe Pedicino Before the show begins we see a promo for ‘Christmas Homecoming’ coming up on Christmas night in Miami, no matches are announced yet but tickets go on sale this Monday! We then see the opening montage and throw it to our hosts, Jim Ross and Joe Pedicino. JR welcomes us to another exciting episode of the PWF, he mentions the big Christmas Homecoming event coming to Miami on Christmas night that Blackjack Mulligan will be telling us more about very soon. Pedicino chimes in to remind us of the big six man tag team steel cage match that will be our main event here this week with Dark Journey’s team of John Tatum, Jack Victory, and Rod Price taking on Cannonball Grizzly and The Rich Cousins. Ross rolls his eyes as he tells us that Mando, Chavo, and Hector Guerrero will all be here this week and we’ll also see “Mean” Mike Miller in action seeking revenge for “Gorgeous” Jimmy Powers and Precious for last week’s loss against Frankie Lancaster. Ross then pitches to Joe Pedicino who has headed over to the interview area where he’s joined by Sir Oliver Humperdink and the Mercenaries! Pedicino points out that the Mercenaries were unsuccessful in the PWF tag team title tournament and that Ron Starr also managed to get eliminated from the PWF Heavyweight title tournament plus a loss to….Starr cuts Pedicino off and points out that ALL of the Mercenaries losses in the PWF can be attributed to ONE MAN…and he asks Doug Gilbert who that man is, Doug replies, “Fidel Sierra!” Sierra looks taken aback by this. Hump chimes in that he vouched for Sierra when Starr and Gilbert didn’t want him in the group to start with and he says that Fidel has embarrassed him for the last time. He says that this upcoming match with the Southern Rockers is his ONE CHANCE to make things right and show he can “carry his weight” in the House of Humperdink. Starr, Gilbert, and Hump head off towards the ring as Fidel Sierra looks puzzled and slowly starts to follow them. MATCH ONE- The Mercenaries (Doug Gilbert/Fidel Sierra) w/Ron Starr & Sir Oliver Humperdink vs. The Southern Rockers (Rex King/Steve Doll Ross says he never thought he would find himself sympathizing with Fidel Sierra but he kinda feels bad for the guy. Pedicino says, “perhaps, but they do have a point. All the Mercenaries' losses can be attributed to some sort of mishap involving Sierra. In this match so far, the Rockers have been in control and mostly against Doug Gilbert which Starr and Humperdink seem to be berating Sierra about from ringside yelling, “why aren’t you doing something?” Finally Sierra gets tagged in and he manages to take control after a stiff kick to the gut of Doll. The match goes back and forth for a few minutes until Hump distracts the referee allowing Starr to trip Doll. This brings Blackjack to ringside, in the chaos that ensues, Gilbert tells Sierra to hold Doll as he wraps a chain around his fist and goes up to the 2nd turnbuckle. Gilbert jumps off but Doll moves and Doug knocks out Doll with the chain!! King dropkicks Gilbert out of the ring as Doll covers Sierra for the win!! As Mulligan goes over to congratulate King and Doll on the win, Starr gets in the ring and starts to berate Sierra who is stumbling to his feet bleeding, Starr asks what happened and Sierra motions that Gilbert hit him with the chain. Starr asks Gilbert for the chain. Starr glares at Gilbert as he wraps the chain around his fist and just when it looks like Starr is going to blast Gilbert with it, Humperdink grabs Sierra from behind and Starr nails Sierra with a punch from his chain wrapped fist! Gilbert puts the boots to Sierra as Ross calls for a commercial break. COMMERCIAL BREAK As we return from the break, Mulligan has joined Pedicino in the interview area. Mulligan starts to speak about the Mercenaries when Johnny & Davey Rich come out. Johnny tells Mulligan they’ve been looking all over for him to see if he has any idea where Cannonball Grizzly is because he hasn’t arrived to the Sportatorium. BJM says he saw him at the beach earlier in the day and he seemed fine. Pedicino points out that this isn’t like Cannonball and that he knows for a fact Grizzly was counting the minutes until he could get Rod Price in that cage. Mulligan says if Grizzly doesn’t show up soon he will find a replacement, at that very moment Dark Journey strolls out alone and says that the contract states it’s the Richs and Grizzly vs. her men and if Mulligan changes ANYTHING about this match that he’s breaching the contract and that there won’t be a match because she will advise her men to leave the arena and sue the PWF for the money they are owed for this match. Mulligan’s face is turning redder by the moment, and before he can respond Davey Rich grabs Johnny and says, “We’ve got to go find Grizzly” and they leave the area. Mulligan threatens to bend Dark Journey over his knee, DJ responds “Don’t threaten me with a good time, Cowboy.” Blackjack fans himself with his cowboy hat as he walks away without a response. Joe then awkwardly pitches back to Jim Ross. Even Ross seems a bit flustered after that last exchange and says, “let’s take a look at this VTR of a strange man on his way to the Professional Wrestling Federation.” (A dark grainy video plays of what appears to be some sorta tribal ceremony taking place out in the woods, a large man has his back to the camera and it appears the ceremony that’s happening is honoring him as a bunch of “natives” with painted faces and such are dancing around him chanting. The camera pulls back as the large man with a painted face turns and stares directly into the camera then suddenly there’s a puff of smoke and he disappears followed by a graphic that says, “Rasta the VooDoo Mon is coming…to the PWF!” Jim Ross questions, “Rasta the Voo Doo Man is coming?” Pedicino responds, “MON, I believe it is.” Ross says, “Oh..well my apologies to Mr. MON.” We then head to the ring for the next match. As “Mean” MIke Miller makes his way to the ring with Precious and Jimmy Powers, Blackjack comes out and sends Powers back to the dressing room, Powers tries to argue by saying that he and Precious go everywhere together, BJM responds, “Good! Then go back to the dressing room together!” Precious tells Powers that it’s fine and sends him back to locker room with a kiss on the cheek. MATCH TWO - Frankie Lancaster vs. “Mean” Mike Miller w/Precious Ross says that it’s good to see Blackjack being proactive by getting Powers out of here as he doesn’t have a manager’s license or a reason to be at ringside. Miller tries to “big boy” Lancaster and push him around to start and Frankie isn’t having any of that and shoves him right back then fires up right out of the gate. The match gets going quickly with a collar and elbow tie up, with Miller taking Lancaster into a side headlock with Lancaster shooting him off into the ropes and but getting knocked down by a shoulder tackle! Miller turns to crowd to gloat but then turns back around into a dropkick from Frankie! The match continues back and forth in this fashion for a few minutes until Powers locks Miller into a sleeper hold, Precious comes into the ring and sprays Lancaster in the eyes with her air freshener! Powers then comes running in and they put the boots to Frankie causing the referee to disqualify Miller, until Mulligan starts coming towards the ring carrying an ax handle which sends Powers, Precious, and Miller scurrying from the ring. Mulligan gets a mic and says that since Powers and Precious like to interfere and Powers says they “go everywhere together”, next week they will go together into a shark cage and be hung 20 feet above the ring when Mike Miller and Frankie Lancaster have their rematch! (Powers and Precious are having a fit at ringside as the fans cheer) COMMERCIAL BREAK As we return from the break Jim Ross and Joe Pedicino are in the interview area, Jim Ross said that originally Blackjack Mulligan was going to make this announcement but he is currently in the back dealing with the “Cannonball Grizzly situation as well as the whole Precious and Jimmy Powers “ordeal” as he put it. Ross says that it’s his unfortunate duty to announce that during last week’s “farce of a match” between Mando Guerrero and Mike Graham who was blinded in one and eye and had one arm tied behind him, Graham did indeed suffer further injury during the attack by all three Guerreros, Graham’s shoulder dislocated from being driven into the mat while having that arm tied behind him and at this time, PWF doesn’t have an exact timetable for his return. However, it’s his pleasure to announce that the PWF has signed one of the top Junior Heavyweights in the wrestling world and in TWO WEEKS right here on television, ‘the Opportunist’ Mando Guerrero will be defending the PWF Junior Heavyweight title against “Superstar” Bill Dundee! (crowd cheers as Mando Guerrero comes angrily storming out with Hector/Chavo Guerrero) Mando: “What is this? I’ve never ever heard of a Bill Dundee? He’s never had a match in the PWF, how can he get a title shot?? I’m not defending this title against some nobody that’s never beat anybody in their life!” JR: “Give me a break, Mando! Don’t act like you don’t know who Bill Dundee is, he’s wrestled all over the world and has beaten some of the absolute legends of our industry.” Mando: “He’s hasn’t wrestled one single match in the PWF! How does that make him a contender??” JR: “He’s going to have a match here next week as a matter of fact.” Mando: “So if he loses that match, then the title match would be off, right?” JR: “That’s not something that’s been discussed but I would assume if Dundee were to lose that would have to be taken into consideration.” Mando: “Damn right, it would. Fine, then next week Bill Dundee faces my brother, Chavo and Dundee loses, his title match is canceled!” JR: “Well, I’m not the matchmaker…but we’ll run that up the flagpole as they say and see if Blackjack salutes. Meanwhile, Chavo and Hector have two formidable opponents, up next!” Mando: “Before I go, cameraman please zoom in tight on my handsome face. (cameraman gets a tight shot of Mando’s face) I just want to tell Mike Graham, I hope you get well soon and please, try not to be too depressed about being a half blind injury prone pendejo, I wouldn’t want you to do anything drastic….if you know what I mean. (all three Guerreros burst out laughing as Jim Ross calls them “disgusting” and pitches to the ring) MATCH THREE- Chief Joe Lightfoot/Chief Sivi Afi vs. Los Guerreros (Chavo/Hector) Joe opens with, perhaps we should call this team “Too Many Chiefs”, Ross congratulates Pedicino on graduating from the “Bill Apter School of Comedy with honors” in a moment that I’m sure confused most fans watching the show. A great TV match that saw the Guerreros cheat to control a good portion of it until a hot tag on Lightfoot saw him take control on both Guerreros before going up to the top rope, and coming off on Hector with a “flying tomahawk chop” to the head, as Chief Joe covered him for the pinfall, Ross noted that it appeared Hector tried pull Lightfoot off of him by the back of his trunks, as the referee raised the hands of Sivi and Lightfoot, Mando ran in and told the referee that Lightfoot used a chain and points to Lightfoot’s trunks, referee Mickey Jay checks the back of Lightfoot’s trunks and finds a chain sticking out and immediately reverses the decision awarding the Los Guerreros the win by disqualification (who all three leave ringside all smiles) Ross is livid on commentary saying how he can’t believe how far the once honorable Guerrero family has fallen and states that Gory Guerrero must be “rolling over in his grave” seeing his sons act this way. Pedicino interjects, “Actually, Gory Guerrero was pretty well known for being a rulebreaker, Jim.” Jim Ross sighs audibly before saying, “We’ll be right back.” COMMERCIAL BREAK When return from the break, Joe Pedicino is joined by Blackjack Mulligan. Blackjack says that so far they haven’t been able to track down, Cannonball Grizzly but he suspects that Dark Journey’s guys have something to do with his ‘disappearance’, he says he’s tried to change the match to get the Richs a new partner or make a two on two match but Dark Journey has him over a barrell with the way the contract is worded so the only choice was to either let Johnny and Davey face all three guys in a handicap match or cancel the match and he says that both Johnny and Davey insisted the match not be canceled. So, we’re moving forward with the match as promised. MATCH FOUR- MAIN EVENT SIX MAN TAG TEAM STEEL CAGE MATCH “Hollywood” John Tatum/Jack Victory/”California Stud” Rod Price vs. Johnny/Davey Rich & “Son of the Beach” Cannonball Grizzly Price, Tatum, & Victory anxiously await as Johnny & Davey Rich make their way to the ring. Pedicino says he’s convinced that Dark Journey has something to do with Grizzly not being here as he has been “chomping at the bit” to get his hands on Price. Ross begrudgingly agrees with him. The Richs enter the cage as the heels swarm them, Johnny and Davey hold their own for a few moments but it doesn’t take long for the three on two disadvantage to overwhelm them and it turns into a bloody two on three beatdown of the Rich Cousins. Ross says at this point is doesn’t even seem like “Tatum and the boys” are even trying to win the match, they just want to hurt Johnny and Davey Rich in this scenario where no one can stop them! Ross says they are going to take the last commercial break of the show and hopefully this match will end soon before any long term injuries can happen to the Richs COMMERCIAL BREAK Right as we come back from the break, we see Price has Davey Rich in an over the shoulder back breaker as Tatum and Victory give Johnny a spike piledriver. Suddenly there’s a commotion as a bloodied Cannonball Grizzly in ripped up clothes and a handcuff around his wrist (with the other cuff missing) comes stumbling out to the cage…he demands the outside referee unlock the cage and let him in! Mulligan runs down and shouts at the ref, “LET HIM IN THERE!” Before Cannonball enters the cage, Blackjack reaches behind his back and hands Grizzly a large ax handle! Grizzly enters the cage and begins to clean house as Blackjack re-locks the cage! Ross reminds everyone that this is a cage match so there’s no DQ! Grizzly goes to work swinging the ax handle with reckless abandon until he has Price cornered….Price drops to his knees and begs for mercy as holds the ax handle high over his head preparing to swing…until Tatum crawls over and hits him with a low blow! Grizzly drops the ax handle and falls to the mat….Price goes over and picks it up and wails on Grizzly several times before finally rolling him over and pinning him with one foot on his chest. Ross says, “My God, look at the carnage!” As Dark Journey comes to ringside to congratulate her men on their victory. Ross reminds everyone that next week, it’s “Mean” Mike Miller vs. Frankie Lancaster with Powers and Precious hanging above the ring in a cage as well as “Superstar” Bill Dundee vs. Chavo Guerrero with Dundee’s title shot against Mando on the line plus, the first match announcements for Christmas Homecoming! Pedino adds and hopefully heath updates on Mike Graham, the Richs, and Cannonball Grizzly. Ross closes with “So long from the Sunshine State!”

I agree with Spaldoni, great to see the hair stipulation get paid off in Memphis as they were infamous for not following through with stipulations in real life like the infamous Lawler "head shaving" that was essentially a trim. Good stuff all around.

PWF TV Episode #4 Airing on 11/30/89 The Sportatorium Tampa, Florida Hosts: Jim Ross & Joe Pedicino Show opens with random highlights from ‘Thanksgiving Homecoming’ ending with a still shot of Dory Funk Jr wearing the PWF Heavyweight title belt with Sir Oliver Humperdink raising his hand, then go to the opening montage, then the camera pans the crowd where two lively fans in lucha style masks in the front row are causing a stir and then over to our hosts Jim Ross and Joe Pedicino. Jim Ross welcomes us and says that PWF fans are still reeling over the shocking conclusion to Thanksgiving Homecoming that saw Dory Funk Jr seemingly align with the House of Humperdink. Pedicino says perhaps that’s what those two ‘lucha fans’ are so riled up about then he points out that perhaps Dory was a part of the H.O.H. all along as it certainly seems looking back on it, Kabuki took out Mike Graham intentionally to pave the way for Funk to breeze into the finals having only wrestled one match to Kendall Windham’s THREE! Ross agrees that certainly seems to be the case as he points out that we’re scheduled to hear from Humperdink and Funk later in today’s show. Pedicino adds that we’ve got a huge grudge match in this week’s main event as “California Stud” Rod Price has demanded a match against “Son of the Beach” Cannonball Grizzly as their game of oneupsmanship finally went too far as far as Price is concerned at Thanksgiving Homecoming. Ross says that Hiro Matsuda has spoken to the ‘PWF Board of Directors’ about all the interference that has been running rampant here in the PWF and he says that Mr. Matsuda has a big announcement in regards to that later in this program. MATCH ONE- “Gorgeous” Jimmy Powers w/Precious & “Mean” Mike Miller vs. Frankie Lancaster Ross points out that Lancaster has been beside himself since losing to Powers recently here on TV. Lancaster gets things off to a quick start meeting Powers center ring with a dropkick to start the match! Lancaster controls the first couple of moments of the match until Miller trips Lancaster as he was hitting the ropes. Powers quickly takes over and dominates for the next couple of minutes. “Gorgeous Jimmy” shoots Lancaster into the ropes and hits him with a dropkick. Powers struts around the ring, then primps his hair for the close up from the camera. Powers then struts over and picks Frankie up off the mat, he signals for the ‘Brainbuster’ but Lancaster quickly scoops him into an inside cradle for a 1-2-3!! Lancaster rolls out of the ring and celebrates with the fans while Powers has a complete break down in the ring. Precious tries to console him but Ross tells us it’s time for a commercial break. COMMERCIAL BREAK As we return, Joe Pedicino says that since we just saw Mike Miller interfere in the last match, Hiro Matsuda says he moved this segment up in the show. He says that Mr. Matsuda and the PWF Board of Directors have deemed it necessary to bring on someone to help “enforce the rules” here in the PWF. So at this time welcome our new PWF Commissioner, Blackjack Mulligan! (Blackjack Mulligan comes out in his typical western style attire with what appears to be a badge with ‘PWF Sheriff’ on it) Mulligan says there’s literally a “new Sheriff in town” and he’s here to restore order to the PWF before things get out of hand. He says that it was “dadgum ridiculous” how much interference there has been in PWF matches recently, especially in a prestigious tournament like the PWF title tournament. He says that guys like Sir Oliver Humperdink and the “so called ladies” like Dark Journey and Precious are about to become very well acquainted with him if they continue to interfere in their wrestler’s matches. He shakes hands with Pedicino and heads out as the two lucha masked fans yell and “boo” at him. MATCH TWO- The Armstrong Brothers (Scott/Steve) vs. The New Breed (Chris Champion/Sean Royal) Ross spends the first couple of minutes of this match putting over Blackjack Mulligan being “the right man for the job” to restore order in the PWF. Pedicino says that while Scott Armstrong’s partner Tim Horner has seemingly left Florida, his brother Steve is a more than adequate replacement in any instance. Ross provides some background on Steve Armstrong. Pedicino chimes in that the New Breed got off to a great start in the PWF but recently lost to the Southern Rockers and seems to be shaken by that loss. Champion used a familiar tactic of pulling down the top rope causing Scott Armstrong to go crashing out to the floor. This brings Blackjack Mulligan down to take a seat at ringside. Royal and Champion are both quite distracted by this and seemed visibly annoyed by it, as they each take time to trash talk him in between kicks to Scott Armstrong who eventually uses their distraction with BJM to roll to the corner and get a tag on his brother Steve who comes in and takes control…and after a few moments scores a pinfall on Royal with a sunset flip! COMMERCIAL BREAK As we return from the break, PWF Junior Heavyweight Champion ‘the Opportunist’ Mando Guerrero joins Joe Pedicino and says he’s spent the week thinking about Mike Graham’s challenge and that he’s decided he accepts it, but if Graham is going to get a shot at his title, it has to be RIGHT NOW! Not next week or two weeks from now…but right this minute! Pedicino points out that Guerrero knows that Graham was nearly blinded by Kabuki at Thanksgiving Homecoming and that he’s still experiencing issues from that incident. Mando points out that was “days ago” and if “Mikey really wants a shot at this title, he will ‘grow a set’ and come get it, NOW!” Pedicino says that Mando is being ridiculous. (Mike Graham makes his way out, he still has a patch over his right eye and isn’t dressed to wrestle) Pedicino interjects before Mike can speak that “this isn’t a good idea, Mike.” Graham responds, “I don’t need vision in both eyes to wrestle this coward. I could beat him with one eye and one armed tied behind my back.” Mando grabs the mic, “Challenge accepted! Tie his arm behind his back and ring the bell!” Joe says, “Come on Mando, that wasn’t a challenge…he was just saying that….” Mando once again grabs the mic, “So who’s the coward now, Mikey? You come out here shooting your big mouth off and you can’t back it up, typical Graham bravado. Like I said last week, You’re a coward just like your…” Mike snatches the mic away, “Don’t you dare finish that sentence! If that’s what it takes to get you in the ring for the title..FINE, tie my arm behind my back and get your a** in the ring! I’ll show you who the coward is!” Mando heads to the ring but Blackjack Mulligan comes out and says this isn’t happening, not like this…not today! Graham actually shoves Blackjack, “Did you hear what he said about my Dad last week? This can either happen in that ring..RIGHT NOW….or it can happen in the parking lot or at the Waffle House but it’s happening and if I have to fight YOU first to make it happen…as much as I respect you, Bob…..I’ll do it!” Mulligan takes a moment to consider this….and finally says, “You heard the man…tie his arm up and let him fight….or try to anyway.” Blackjack heads to ringside to take a seat. Mando is shouting taunts from the ring as they tie Graham’s arm up behind him. MATCH THREE- PWF Junior Heavyweight Championship “The Opportunist” Mando Guerrero vs. Mike Graham Our two vocal masked fans are giving Mando all sorts of grief from the front row. Ross suspects they “got into the Cervesa before they got here”. Pedicino says he’s lost all respect for Mando and suspects his family is ashamed of his behavior as of late. Graham makes his way into the ring as Mando immediately goes on the attack, however Mike Graham is holding his own despite having a patch over one eye and one arm tied behind him. Finally, Mando just pokes Graham in his “good eye” and manages to take control. Guerrero works Graham over for a bit and then he goes up to the top rope, Mando taunts the fans (especially the two in the front row in masks) as well as Blackjack who is sitting in a chair at ringside. Mando then comes off the top rope with a splash but Graham rolls out of the way! Graham gets on top of Mando and starts wailing on him with his free arm when suddenly the two masked fans run into the ring and attack Graham!! Ross exclaims, “What the hell are these two fans doing!?! Why the hell are they helping Mando Guerrero?? Blackjack jumps up out of his chair, he makes a move towards the ring, then looks down at the “badge” and heads back to the back. Mando recovers as he and the two masked men stomp away on Graham, suddenly Blackjack returns with the Armstrongs in tow who slide in to make the save causing Mando and the two fans to quickly exit the ring. Mando holds his championship belt up over his head as the two “fans” remove their lucha masks to reveal their identity……Chavo & Hector Guerrero!! Ross points out to Pedicino that it appears the Guerrero family may not be as ashamed as he thought. Pedicino adds, “That appears to be the case, let’s take a break.” COMMERCIAL BREAK MATCH FOUR- The House of Humperdink (PWF Champ Dory Funk Jr/The Great Kabuki) w/Sir Oliver Humperdink vs. The Southern Rockers (Rex King/Steve Doll) Humperdink joins Ross & Pedicino on commentary. Ross asks Hump point blank if Funk was a part of the H.O.H. all along. Hump responds, “Well Columbo, look up in the ring right now….what do you think?” Pedicino asks, What was the point of Funk coming in and leading people to believe that he was going to wrestle by the rules and do things on his own. Hump tells Joe that he should ask the champ himself and see what happens. Ross talks about how well the Southern Rockers have done in the PWF so far but wrestling these two guys will be there toughest test to date. Hump adds that these guys are no test for his team as they will just be two more young punks that are in over their head wrestling ‘future hall of fame wrestlers’. Meanwhile, King & Doll are holding their own against Funk & Kabuki but eventually Hump would leave the desk and head back to ringside which brought Blackjack Mulligan back to ringside to warn him to not get involved, as the referee looked to see what was happening with Hump & Mulligan, it allowed Kabuki to hit Rex King with the nunchuks which Funk quickly capitalized on and got the pin. COMMERCIAL BREAK After the break, Jim Ross was joined by Johnny/Davey Rich who promised they are hot on the trail of Tatum/Victory and that they will not rest until those PWF tag team championships are back around their waists! MATCH FIVE- MAIN EVENT GRUDGE MATCH “Son of the Beach” Cannonball Grizzly vs. “California Stud” Rod Price w/Dark Journey Price was waiting in the ring as Grizzly’s music started to play but this week there was no surfboard nonsense as Cannonball rushed the ring and the fight was on! Ross says, “Who would have thought that these two men would be engaged in what is perhaps the most heated feud in the PWF today!” The fight goes on for a few minutes until Grizzly clotheslined Price over the top rope! Cannonball goes out of the ring and the fight continues on the floor as the referee Mickey Jay starts to count. Grizzly and Price duke it out on the floor as Jay hits the dreaded 10 of the 10 count…..as the bell rings, Tatum & Victory run out and jump Cannonball Grizzly but within seconds Johnny & Davey Rich are there to even the odds….as all this is happening, Blackjack Mulligan comes out and gets on the mic and demands the fighting stop immediately or they will ALL BE FIRED!! This brings the fighting to a pretty quick stop. Mulligan announces that next week’s main event will be a six man tag match between these six men….INSIDE A STEEL CAGE!! Then Mulligan adds, “Oh…and there will be a special referee inside that cage…..ME!” Ross: “Fans, you don’t wanna miss next week’s show as we are going to see these six men face off in a steel cage and Blackjack Mulligan will be the special referee!” Pedicino adds: “Also Jim, I’ve just been handed a memo that Blackjack has signed another match with Scott & Steve Armstrong taking on Chavo & Hector Guerrero and if the Armstrongs win, MIke Graham will get a rematch with Mando Guerrero for the PWF Junior Heavyweight Championship with a stipulation of his choosing….but if the Armstrongs lose, Mike Graham will not a get rematch with Mando for 90 days!” Ross: “Make your plans to join us, folks…….the PWF just keeps get wilder and wilder each and every week. SO long from Florida!"

PWF THANKSGIVING HOMECOMING ‘89 PWF Heavyweight Title Tournament The Fairgrounds Tampa, Florida Thanksgiving Day- 11/28/89 Bell Time: 6pm (This was not televised anywhere but the matches were recorded to be used on the TV show for highlights) Ring Announcer: Joe Pedicino PWF Heavyweight Title Tournament Round One: Johnny Rich pinned “Hollywood” John Tatum w/Dark Journey with a small package “Rotten” Ron Starr w/Sir Oliver Humperdink defeated “Son of the Beach” Cannonball Grizzly by DQ, when Rod Price hit the ring and punched Starr, just to get Grizzly DQ’d and eliminated from the tournament. At first, Starr got up very heated at Price..but Hump realized what the deal was and he quickly rushed Starr out of the ring as Price quickly departed followed by Cannonball chasing Price up the aisle and out of the building Kendall Windham pinned “Mean” Mike Miller w/Precious after a running bulldog “Gorgeous” Jimmy Powers w/Precious pinned Steve Armstrong with his feet on the ropes Dory Funk Jr. pinned Chief Joe Lightfoot with a rolling cradle, Funk shook hands with Lightfoot before and after the match “White Lightning” Tim Horner vs. “California Stud” Rod Price w/Dark Journey Ring announcer Joe Pedicino lets us know that Tim Horner who was signed to be in this match, has left the promotion unexpectedly. However, after being involved in a fight in the parking lot with Cannonball Grizzly after his previous interference, local police have removed both men from the property, therefore Dory Funk Jr will get a BYE in the next round The Great Kabuki w/Sir Oliver Humperdink defeated “High Cheif” Sivi Afi by count out when Hump held Afi’s leg as he tried to return to the ring after fighting with Kabuki on the floor. Mike Graham pinned Jack Victory w/Dark Journey with a backslide PWF Heavyweight Title Tournament Round Two: “Rotten” Ron Starr w/Sir Oliver Humperdink pinned Johnny Rich after using a chain that was given to him by Hump at ringside Kendall Windham pinned “Gorgeous” Jimmy Powers w/Precious with a sunset flip off the top rope Dory Funk Jr received a BYE to the semi-finals Mike Graham defeated the Great Kabuki w/Sir Oliver Humperdink by DQ when Kabuki sprayed Graham in the eyes with red “poison” mist! PWF Heavyweight Title Tournament SEMI-FINALS: Kendall Windham pinned “Rotten” Ron Starr w/Sir Oliver Humperdink after botched interference from Fidel Sierra Dory Funk Jr vs. Mike Graham Funk came to the ring first. Graham had to be led out to the ring by his friend Scott Armstrong due to the mist to the eyes in the previous match from Kabuki. One eye was completely covered with a bandage and while the other eye wasn’t covered but it was clear Graham was having problems seeing out of it. Funk seemed to express concern over Graham’s safety if he were to compete. Hiro Matsuda came to ringside and ruled that Graham “could not be allowed to compete in this state” and ordered that Funk be declared the winner by forfeit resulting in Dory Funk Jr’s 2nd BYE of the night through no fault of his own. Announcer Joe Pedicino announces there will be an intermission and then a tag team match before the finals take place for the championship. SEMI-MAIN EVENT TAG TEAM CHALLENGE MATCH The Southern Rockers (Rex King/Steve Doll) defeated The New Breed (Chris Champion/Sean Royal) after Doll pinned Royal with a flying crossbody off the top rope! MAIN EVENT PWF Heavyweight Title Tournament FINALS: Dory Funk Jr. defeated Kendall Windham to win the championship! A highly competitive and scientific match throughout the 27 minutes they competed. The match started with a handshake and things got intense at times but no one ever broke the rules, finally Dory went to apply a spinning toe hold on Windham who kicked Dory off into the turnbuckle, as Windham got up off the mat, Sir Oliver Humperdink came down to ringside and began shouting at the referee who went over to see why Humperdink was out there, as Windham approached Funk in the corner, Dory kicked him right between the legs, dropping young Kendall instantly. As the referee turned back around from being distracted by Hump, Funk was now able to apply the spinning toe hold. Due to the pain of the low blow and the spinning toe hold as well, Windham succumbed to the pain and submitted, giving Dory Funk Jr the win…and the championship! Humperdink came into the ring and handed Funk the PWF Championship belt and Dory Jr embraced Humperdink! Perhaps, Graham being blinded by Kabuki was no coincidence!?!? Tune into Saturday’s PWF episode to hear Dory and Humperdink’s explanation!
