That was a good promo battle between Eddie and Mox, but the whole thing is a silly arc for the tournament to take imo.

If there’s one thing Jon Moxley needs, it’s legitimation in the eyes of the fans. He’ll certainly benefit from a match against Eddie Kingston or Bryan Danielson, it won’t at all be an example of a top guy engaging in masturbatory spot preservation.

Alexander Hammerstone finished up with MLW. Idk if WWE are interested in indie wrestlers right now, but he’d be a good addition for either AEW or WWE.

Page had one absolutely fantastic babyface promo before he won the world title. Dude has it in him in spurts, but he can’t keep it up consistently. My prediction would be that Swerve beats MJF, then feuds with Will Ospreay.

The ratings are not doing very well, there’s a YOY decline in 20 of the last 22 weeks. They need to get the title off MJF if he’s just gonna fuck around hurt with dudes in devil masks, and as much as some people might like the tournament, it appears to be doing more harm than good in terms of retaining the audience. Get the title on Swerve and figure out a hot feud for him ASAP.

Well I’m not as into the AEW house style as some, so I’m probably an unrepresentative person to include in the sample. I will say, my dad is pushing 70 and when I complained about too many near falls in the Mox/White match, he said, “Oh, that’s all they do on AEW!” Mox and White at least had some energy and no gratuitous bleeding from Mox, I enjoyed that match somewhat, and I would have enjoyed Briscoe/Lethal more if there hadn’t been the trapping of “Who’s going to have more than zero points in the tournament” weighing it down.

That was not a good episode of Dynamite, but Moxley vs White was aight, albeit way overreliant on near falls as usual for AEW. Komander is startlingly incompetent. I do not get Toni Storm doing a bad Norma Desmond impersonation, and I cannot imagine wanting to see Riho ever. Briscoe vs Lethal was fine, they’re both extremely competent workers, but kinda weird to be told from the outset that a match is basically meaningless. Rush vs Swerve was mediocre. MJF as a weird tweener babyface in an incomprehensible Black Scorpion-type storyline has completely ruined him. Hope a few weeks of pops for childish comedy segments with Adam Cole was worth it! I’m sure glad MJF will be here for three more years!

I wouldn’t mind it if it was Ridge building himself up as a heel and being like, “Yeah, I broke his neck, and I’ll break yours, too!” Doing it with him being weepy and sullen in the corner and the announcers not saying anything is just cheesy and melodramatic.

“Tavion Heights” is as WWE a name as I’ve ever heard, but he seems reasonably talented.

I more just meant the basics. They’ve got some good double teams, power moves, but things like strikes, selling, etc they still have a fair bit of learning to do.

Creed brothers have potential, but they still come across as pretty green to me. Hope they work a bunch of house shows and get their reps in.

Apparently PWInsider reported that WBD did in fact request a meeting with WWE to discuss buying Raw broadcast rights, so we may in fact be in the funny timeline where CM Punk believing, justly or falsely, that the Bucks started or enabled a rumor about him retaliating against Colt Cabana’s TV presence led to AEW losing their major network partner.

WBD picking up Raw because Punk is *that* much of a selling point to them would be funny, but I have a hard time believing that.

I think Gunther gets points for me because he does so well working a style that would be fundamentally similar in any epoch he could have possibly worked in.
