  1. Rampage is a really good show that I feel consistently delivers week to week especially with straight up in-ring action. Case in point, this weeks Eddie Kingston vs. Konosuke Takeshita match. It was 15 minutes of them just beating the ever living crap out of each other. Last week with the Royal Rampage was really fun and I like that they use Rampage to experiment with different things like that too.
  2. I second all of this. I used to like the Drive-Thru when it was a strict Q&A show and I could learn and listen to him talk about history and his experiences. Occasional rants were fine but not the constant negativity he uses to drive his podcasts now. I still subscribe to the YT channel so I can pick and choose the things I want to listen to. I'll have to listen to the tape discussion soon. Side note ... Brian Last is fine is parts too but I find too much of him goes a long way. He comes across with a very elitist or better than you attitude. That being said, I did like the 6:05 when he was doing the long form interviews because I learned a TON from those.
  3. Agreed. This looks like a FANTASTIC card! I’m sure we’ll get more match announcements tomorrow night on Rampage. Side note: They keep saying PPV and Bleacher Report. Guessing that means no Honor Club or FITE streaming?
  4. Against All Odds last Friday was a pretty good show. Definitely recommend checking out Speedball vs. Trey Miguel and also the MCMG vs. Ace Austin & Chris Bey match. Moose vs. Sami was a wild, chaotic, weapons filled brawl and I expected nothing less from it. Side note: I did watch the show live on Friday but had a huge seasonal allergy flare-up and was really groggy for the back half of the show thanks to some Benadryl. Anyway, went back and watched the whole show again today.
  5. I still say Becky is winning the Women’s MITB match. If not her, then my backup pick is Asuka. For the men’s match, it would make sense for Drew Mac to win and use it to challenge Roman at the UK PPV. Dark horse pick would be Riddle. For the rest of the card, I say all champions retain.
  6. SMASH Wrestling Super Showdown VI Watched this the other day after sampling some SMASH stuff on Impact Plus (namely the Rosemary vs. Allie No Holds Barred match). The whole show is pretty fun but there's two matches on there that are really, really good. First is the opening match, a last man standing match between Sebastian Suave and Tarik. Just an absolute emotionally charged bloodbath. The whole story is built upon the fact that Tarik "can't win the big one" and constantly comes up short, with Suave's manager Anthony Kingdom James pretty much calling Tarik and insult to this family because of this. There's weapons, there's a ton of blood and it's an absolute knock-down, drag out fight. The other match worth checking out is the Tables, Ladder and Boxes match between Well Oiled Machines (Pepper Parks (aka The Blade) and "Psycho" Mike Rollins) vs. The SSB (Evil Uno & Stu Grayson). It's a really fun and unique twist on the tables, ladder and chairs match. The boxes are wrapped up and could be anything. There's some fun and goofy spots, wild bumps and just an overall crazy match. This definitely has me wanting to check out a lot more from SMASH. Looks like there's a bunch of free shows and matches on their YouTube channel and a bunch of their TV on Impact Plus. Anyone have any other recommendations about what to check out from SMASH?
  7. I fell asleep watching the damn cage match last night but caught most of it. I'm going to go back and watch it tomorrow afternoon sometime. Meant to today but was busy with a bunch of other stuff.
  8. Queen of the Deathmatch 2007 To start the show Ian Rotten gets on the microphone and says "there's only like 50 of you here so please make some noise because these girls are gonna beat the shit out of each other". The whole tournament was a weird round robin deal and I liked the way it was set up with the ongoing story of a possible Mickie Knuckles vs Lufisto finals. There was one match were I just thought Mickie Knuckles was going to absolutely murder this poor girl named BB Walls. It was several minutes of Mickie beating the hell out of BB with stiff punches and every weapon she had at her disposal. My one complaint with the show is that the ropes were wrapped in barbed wire for every match, which eliminated the possibility of running the ropes at all. The finals were as expected with Mickie vs Lufisto and it was quite good, although by that point everyone was exhausted and the two competitors were beat up and covered in blood. Fun show though.
  9. I think a lot of people are clamoring for Cesaro to be the mystery opponent and I can see why. He can work pretty much any style and has a good history with Danielson. Other options could potentially be Chris Hero or Jonathan Gresham. Personally, I'd lean towards Gresham because if he beats ZSJ (who I honestly don't know much about), then that'd be a big springboard towards a potential ROH re-launch and would help get him back on the map as I feel he's sort of fallen off recently after TK bought ROH and hasn't made as much noise in the Indies like he did at the beginning of the year. Wheeler Yuta might be another choice too since he's already aligned with BCC and is the ROH Pure Champion. Heck, they could even make it a title match if that's the case. Chris Hero would be cool too. One thing to keep in mind thought is that whoever fills in against ZSJ will also most likely be the fill in for Danielson during Blood & Guts.
  10. Watched the IWA Mid South 2015 Queen of the Deathmatch tournament. That was … really … weird. The setting was like a backyard show, with houses in the background of the hard camera shot and the ring set up in the parking lot of the American Legion hall. The matches were not good. The only two people I actually kind of liked in the tournament were Sage Sin Supreme and Sabrina Sixx and neither made the finals. The non-tournament match with Bryant Woods against Green Phantom (or Green “Phanthom” as it was spelled on the lower third) was probably the best match.
  11. Ric Flair’s “last match” has been moved from the Nashville Fairgrounds to the Nashville Municipal Auditorium … https://www.f4wonline.com/news/other-wrestling/ric-flairs-last-match-moving-to-bigger-venue-nashville-municipal-auditorium
  12. A bunch of WCW Saturday Night episodes from late 93/early 94 were uploaded today. Nice to see old WCW TV getting updated finally!
  13. Tim White was one of the referees I always remembered from when I started watching the WWF in 1995. The last match I remember him being the referee for was Chris Jericho vs. Christian at WrestleMania XX in 2004. Don't have many memories of Dave Hebner unfortunately. He was retired as a referee before I started watching wrestling. I mainly remember him as the guy who looked like Earl Hebner who would run down to the ring alongside Rene Goulet and Tony Garea to break up fights.
  14. It does look like a fun show tonight but I'm gonna wait to watch it when it shows up on Impact Plus in about a month. I can't justify dropping $40 on FITE right now for a PPV.
  15. Well, at least it’s a stipulation match and not just a straight up 1-on-1. Still not super excited about it though.
