  1. Shit, Bix told me to watch the woman's match and I got called away.
  2. Miz vs. Curtis Axel - Besides Heyman getting tossed, I don't remember anything about this match.
  3. Heel Money in the Bank - Holy shit, I was cheering for Cody Rhodes by the end. Really smart ending. Really solid work that kept the crowd into it even though the entire group were heels. I enjoyed it.
  4. Pre-Show--The Shield (Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns) © vs. The Usos (Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso), - Ths Shield should win but some podcast (forget which one, maybe LEs Thatcher?), said that Vince is cold on one of the Shield members so I could see the USOs getting the upset. Still picking Shield. AJ Lee © vs. Kaitlyn - I'll be pissing Curtis Axel © vs. The Miz, - Axel Chris Jericho vs. Ryback - I say Ryback loses by DQ or interference... hugs Vickie after. Alberto Del Rio © vs. Dolph Ziggler, World title - Del Rio retains. John Cena © vs. Mark Henry, WWE title - I think Cena retains. Wade Barrett vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Damien Sandow vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Fandango vs. Jack Swagger vs. Antonio Cesaro, - I really want Antonio to win this one. CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton vs. Sheamus vs. Christian vs TBD vs. Rob Van Dam - RVD gets taken out by whoever he is feuding with next. DB is already getting the Summerslam build. Punk doesn't need it. They are cold on Sheamus. I am going with Orton.
  5. My point is that even if it is out of place for Shawn Michaels but that it wasn't uncommon.
  6. Hogan based his entire first world title run on out-heeling the heels. Dusty and Ron Garvin were complete dicks in their matches. It isn't a new concept or one that was unique to Michaels in this one match.
  7. And I am still sticking to the position that you are wrong. Good deal.
  8. Why isn't it a very good narrative? The babyfaces finally get the heels in a cage where the heels can't use the things heels use to take advantage. They have no where to hide. The faces prove they are better when the heels can't cheat or have outside interference (Sherri was great here too when she was so helpless to help) or abuse the ref. I thought the structure was weird but didn't think it was a detriment. When faces are able to control a long portion of the match in a cage free from interference until their hubris costs them and turns the tide of the match, that is perfectly acceptable storytelling. You say the Rockers were working as dick heels. I believe they were working like every other over-babyface in the 80s who would beat heels by being meaner than the heels. Nothing wrong with that. Add in the points I make under Dylan's thoughts and it only makes the match better in my view. These were my initial thoughts that were reinforced when I watched the match on the podcast... These were Dylan's initial thoughts in nominating the match... Dylan does more play by play and lists specific spots and moments he thought looked great so now not only is the structure not a problem (for me, it never was) but their are specific points he makes where the actual execution/camera shots/sequences make this a great match in my view. On rewatch, I agreed with my initial assessment, Dylan disliked it more on repeated viewing. You gave the match a B+. What is that in star rating terms? Matt D's comments make it appear like he thinks it is one of the worst matches on the set. I think it is one of the best. You may not like the structure (again, still don't buy the argument that the faces were dick heels) but you clearly are more in the "I liked this" camp than the "I hated this" camp.
  9. My argument from the first time I saw the match was that the structure itself was not a detriment to the match. That is the argument between myself and Matt D. I actually agree with Dylan that wrestling can be analyzed and be about emotion. We did that. We marked out (emotion) and said WHY we liked the match and why we thought the criticism was horseshit (analysis). Maybe we didn't do a good enough job because we moved on to the next match which was also awesome.
  10. The results of the older 80s projects are saved through mookieghana. It might suck to lose the posts but the results will survive and that ultimately is all that matters. Once it gets back on board, I'll talk to Phil and Kris and we'll see if we can set a final date for AWA voting and start lucha pimping.
  11. This is a fascinating little project. It's a shame so little of this sort of thing will ever be done. Jim says Mark and Jim have come up with solid plans for 3-4 similar collaborations. I am looking forward to this but I already paid for the Memphis 1977 book. That needs to get done ASAP!!!!
  12. I think we have to stand firm at 30 discs. We are making hard cuts as it stands. If we do the supplemental, we can always include stuff that got the axe or was overlooked the first time around.
  13. I love Piper in the 80s WWF stuff I have seen so far. Also enjoyed him well enough in Portland. When we do the DVDVR redo, Piper will definitely be well represented.

  15. Got around to listening to this today... The Fuji story may or may not be true but they did something similar on Primetime when Earthquake fed Vince "Snake" burgers, implying they were eating Damian. Also, there is no way they allow Jarrett's contract to expire and let him keep the IC belt. I don't think JR gave Jarrett a pocket veto. It's possible that creative and Ross were not on the same page and that is how the screw-up happened.
  16. John Cena would be a star in any era you put him in. He seems like a big enough politician to survive a toxic political climate, he has the look and he can wrestle. He could have been a top drawing face or a cocky heel coming into a territory to challenge the top babyface. Hell, Kerry Von Erich in 1983 vs. John Cena 2007 feels like a dream match. He works really well with smaller wrestlers (Punk, DB) so I could see him facing Lawler at his peak or even the New Japan roster. We've seen him have really good matches with monsters so I could see Cena working a great match with early 80s Andre or a bloody match with One Man Gang.
  17. PG-13 Eaton & Condrey Guido & Smothers (w/ Tommy Rich) Rock N Roll Express Kawada & Taue
  18. I will set a deadline once we finalize the list of lucha matches that will appear on the lucha set.

  20. Nevermind, read the review from Dylan where he teams Zenk with the corpse of Benoit.
  21. What happened to Tom Zenk?
  22. Not likely but we will have plenty of Naylor news in the days ahead.
  23. For ECW, I am using Tajiri vs. Corino PPV match and a Guido vs. Tajiri vs. Crazy TV match.
