It's really not worth arguing but the entire arena was chanting for Ryder... not Steve Lombardi.
-
I think you meant any less of a joke. It is just about giving the crowd a reason to cheer. Simple as that.
-
I had no idea. Not a Ryder Twitter follower.
-
3MB vs. Miz, ADR, Brooklyn Brawler - This is why people get pissed off at WWE. The entire fucking crowd was chanting for Zach Ryder. He could have eaten the pinfall. He would have gotten the hometown pop and everyone would have been happy. They take a decent ADR face turn from earlier and make it into a joke. I guess they needed a buffer between world title matches.
-
The Big Show vs. Sheamus Chairs Match - I enjoyed the match but it felt like the chairs broke up the action more than they added to it. At least it ended with the GIANT CHAIR so at least it had that going for it. Awesome WMD off the missed Brogue Kick.
-
Eve vs. Naomi - This was bad. They need to stop having women's matches.
-
Pretty sure the plan is HHH-Brock part 2 and Taker vs. Punk.
-
Ryback, Kane, Daniel Bryan vs. The SHIELD - Holy shit, this was pretty fucking great and may be the best thing I think Kane has ever been a part of. This was just random violence and the strategy of the SHIELD was pretty genius. I was going to make a post earlier about how nobody ever feels like they hate each other. I got the vibe that these 6 men hated each other. No spots that took forever to set up or that came off convoluted. Nothing that took away from the aura of the match. Awesome, awesome brawl.

Kofi Kingston vs. Wade Barrett - I don't understand this company. I keep hearing they are going to push Wade strong but he loses clean as a sheet to Kofi here. I guess you can't have both Euros going over 2 African Americans but it just didn't feel right. As for the match, it feels just like any other midcard WWE match.
-
It probably didn't come across in my post but I enjoy 3MB. Jinder completely makes the group.
-
Would take balls but this company has none.
-
3MB on the Miz Show - Miz is a horrible babyface, blah blah blah. 3MB are actually pretty entertaining as ignorant kliq. Don't mind the ADR face turn at all if they go full steam ahead with it since he is stale as fuck.
-
Antonio Cesaro vs. R-Truth. - Just a match. I did enjoy the banter between the commentators about money.
-
I missed the Sin Cara/Rey Mysterio vs. Rhodes Scholars Tables Match except for the very ending. How was it?
-
Don't know if it has been mentinoned in the thread but the best TNA match I can recall is the Kurt Angle-Jeff Jarrett street fight. I haven't watched Bubba-AJ yet but the Angle-Jarrett fight may be my favorite match from either guy and I don't care for either of them.

I have him in my Top 5 and I know Dylan's brother once said he was in his Top 5. I will let Dylan speak for himself. I do know that Dylan has said he was arguably the greatest worker straight from 1977-1982... an incredibly long stretch.

I think this was a case of me forgetting which match had Doc and Gordy winning the tag straps so I included both matches as JIP since the tag change was considered lackluster. At the very least, the hot action here made you guys seek out the full match.

PTB - Kevin Kelly discusses 1997 WWF Part 2
goodhelmet replied to Bigelow34's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Been going through the interviews lately and have a couple of comments on some of the interviews. If you haven't heard the Bruno shows, listen to him talk about Fritz's reaction to Mike Von Erich's suicide note. Holy Shit. Also, the Tony Falk stories are gold. If they have been told before elsewhere then I apologize but I thought they were great. I get the vibe that Kevin Kelly does not respect women in wrestling. Just saying. Stevie Richards seems like the most well-adjusted former wrestler ever. I also listened to the show where one of you went on a political rant but we don't talk non- Linda McMahon politics on this board so i will leave that one alone. -
So Rose in his little territory was able to sell out buildings on a week to week basis but Stong as the major face of a national company had trouble dropping 500 people into a gym when he was on top?

I am still waiting for the Best Shoot Promo from a Worked Wrestler and best Worked Promo from a Shoot Fighter.

I am behind and just read the last couple pages of this thread. However, when did ROH ever come across as old school in its presentation or booking under Cornette? Pushing the wrong people and featuring lame or boring wrestlers isn't a staple of an old school product. It's the staple of a bad wrestling product. I think there are tons of us ROH bashers who would have been thrilled if ROH was actually booked like an old school territory with interesting characters.
