  1. I think the answer is the Best Wrestler who can't actually draw money.
  2. I would have loved to have seen Technical Ted Dibiase win all of these awards in the early 80s when he was mainly involved in bloody brawls involving gimmicks and a loaded glove.
  3. These are the matches that received enough interest at the time to get put on a MOTYC set.... Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton (SD! 4/4/06) John Cena vs. HBK vs. Edge vs. Randy Orton (Backlash 4/29/07) John Cena vs. Randy Orton (Summerslam 8/26/07) Randy Orton vs. Triple H (Last Man Standing) (No Mercy 10/6/07) Randy Orton vs. John Cena (No Way Out 2/17/08) John Cena vs. Randy Orton (I Quit Match) (PPV 9/13/09) John Cena vs. Randy Orton (Ironman Match) (PPV 10/25/09) CM Punk vs. Randy Orton (Mania 4/3/11) CM Punk vs. Randy Orton (Last Man Standing) (Extreme Rules 5/1/11) Randy Orton vs. Christian (SD 5/6/11) Randy Orton vs. Christian (Over the Limit 5/22/11) Mark Henry vs. Randy Orton (NOTC 9/18/11) Out of these matches, I would say the Mark Henry match is a legitimately great match. The Christian series was hurt by having 30 matches on TV and PPV over a 3-4 month span. I enjoyed the Punk matches more than most but it has been awhile since I saw either. All of those John Cena matches are blurring together for me.
  4. If you enjoyed the Show Sheamus match from this show, you will absolutely love the HIAC match.... guaranteed.
  5. Love this show!!! Been going through the archives while working on the 1991 yearbook.
  6. Were they doing flag matches back then?

  8. CM Punk vs. Ryback vs. John Cena - Punk's facial expressions were the best part of the match prior to the taking out of Ryback. Also, if you are going to take Ryback out, good to introduce some NXT guys, call them NXT guys and take out the monster in a big way. Better finish than last month but they gotta get Punk away from Ryback and against someone he can beat in the ring so these finishes don't piss people off so much. Maybe Ryback can go 1 against 3 next month and destroy the NXT guys before they even have a shot.
  9. I know. Instead of creating another forum that competes with the Mega Thread and this one, a thread would nicely link to any of the other threads that happen to fall under the category.
  10. Team Orton vs. Team Ziggler - Another good Survivor Series match and it was nice of them to give Ziggler a pinfall victory. I enjoyed the match but as I said last month, until any of these guys begin to matter, it doesn't really make any difference who wins or loses. The only thing that would have shocked me was maybe DB or Miz going 4 on 1 and coming back to win.
  11. Actually, we can just pin this to the top and let Jerry edit in threads in the first post.
  12. Sheamus vs. Big Show - This was as good as the last match leading to the finish but the referee stuff and the reverse decision happened way too soon to meet the standard of last month's match.
  13. Woman's Match - I am ignoring these until they radically change the way they approach them. I had to step out. Did I Miss Truth vs. Cesaro?
  14. Rey, Sin Cara, Clay, Kidd, Slater vs. PTP, Puerto Ricans & Tensai - Man, fun trainwreck leading to Brodus planting Tensai on his face. Oops! Now Tensai is out so it is down to the tag teams. Good enough for me. JBL mentions Colon still owing him money. Awesome. From a booking standpoint, I guess they don't care about their heel teams but it was fun seeing the faces clean up on the heels.

  19. Hiding the chain is awesome. On the 80s Texas set, Lawler hiding the chain was a thing of beauty. If this match is anything like that, I imagine I would like it just as much.
  20. Yeah, watching the show, I was more offended by the film of dead Lawler than I was by the angle itself. The angle was more of an eye roller. The film was more WTF?
  21. She was still hoping to write a victory speech on election day? It was clear well before that she was going to lose. I get putting on the brave face, but come on... John Read it again. It looks like she was going over the speech she already had prepared.
  22. Dave sees Edge in the same light as Kurt Angle and Chris Benoit, as a super worker with multiple **** matches while working on top. While we shit on Edge, Dave praises those same matches. Ironically, it is one of the reasons I think that Buddy Rose should be in. If you are going to push guys as HOFers because they are super workers, nobody deserves to be in more than Buddy Rose.
  23. You know, if Patera does hit the ballot next year Dylan, you should send Dave one of those long write-ups for him to post on the main site, similar to the type of bios that Steve Yohe would throw in every once in a while. I think if there was an article on the main site or even in an issue of the Observer, he might have not been so easily dismissed. The fact that Don Owen isn't in the HOF speaks volumes about what the voters know about Portland Wrestling.
  24. Dude, Hogan was foreshadowing the WCW feud from 1998.... fucking MAGIC MIRROR!!! Best feud ever!!!
