  1. Floyd, I know you are EVIL~! and trying to fuck up our nice clean polling results but how about some actual discussion of the matches?
  2. What do you want the title to say?
  3. Yeah, What he said. But to lay down the law, if you have beef with another poster/message board then take it somewhere else.
  4. Go back and watch the Feb. match in a couple of months when you are disconnected from it. It is a match that deserves a 2nd chance.
  5. Childs, I think alot of people have the same initial reaction I did when I watched it a year ago. However, I thought the September match was the best and the May match the weakest so I can understand how many other people would feel the same way. If people rewatch the series later on, I think they will come to love it like I did. With that said, only one of the matches has a crack at my Top 50 and even that isn't a lock.
  6. Are these matches you have actually seen? I want you to go one by one the same way Childs did and explain why they SHOULD have been on the set. I am still waiting. For everyone else, I would love to get your comments on the set if it has arrived yet.
  7. Give us some background
  8. Dan Ginnetty would have Volume 193... since it is his set
  9. The Fantastics describe this story in their Straight Shootin' Interview if yo ucan get a copy of it.

  11. Well shit...
  12. Still the plan.

  14. I want to bump this because after working on the New Japan set, Junior-era Fujinami is clearly not working the same style as Tiger Mask or any other junior. It isn't the style that is at fault, it is clearly the wrestler.
  15. You know, before the Memphis set, there was a lot of Lawler pimping going on much like the Fujiwara stuff now. I kinda thought, eh, don't see what's so great about Lawler. Then my ballot had him in like my top 8 or 9 matches. The beauty of these sets is the re-evaluation that goes on regarding "best ever" talk. Replace Fujiwara with Fujinami and the Lawler comparison is more accurate. Fujinami was the king of the 80s in New Japan.
  16. Liger will be released before the end of the year, maybe as soon as November.

  22. I am putting 8/8/88 in purgatory. No more 8/8 talk until the errata set. It was boring. MOve on. To be clear, we nominated a ton of matches. We had to make cuts. Just because a match doesn't appear doesn't mean we didn't like it. Alot of the matches above were nominated. However, we think the ones on the set are better. Dusty-Backlund was nominated. I was the lone Backlund rep on the panel and the sole reason there is any Backlund on this thing. Backlund-Hogan was left off because that match will be represented on WWF. I thought Hansen-Backlund was good enough to go on and I loved Backlund-Choshu rolling around on the mat... more then the low-level endorsement I gave Backlund-Dusty. We enjoyed the 1982 Choshu-Fujinami matches but the match-up appears 7 times in total. Those were the weakest of the two. We put 4 DK-TM matches on there. I think that is a pretty damn good representation of what the feud is about. I liked the 10/21 TM-Kobayashi match. It didn't have enough support to make it on and I wasn't going to use a personal pick on it when we already had the matchup twice. I am in no way, shape or form part of the Fujiwara is the Best camp. On this set alone, I like Fujinami, Choshu, Murdoch and Liger /Yamada better. I think Jumbo is a better wrestler. However, the majority of those Fujiwara matches are pretty fucking great. Maybe 5 or 6 are ones I wasn't crazy about.
  23. He also doesn't understand that said bullshit is fine in small doses.
  24. The set is modified. We had three matches listed twice. Thanks to John for making us check on those.
