  1. I liked this a lot better than the 2/3 falls, and I think Loss nailed it about Austin's confidence. He looked so much more confortable, but then again, 12 minutes is much easier to fill than 30, especially when he's worked with Windham plenty already.
  2. A decent little TV match, although it's clear that Lee is mostly look and little else. Orndorff's mean streak is really a sight to behold. Too bad Lee didn't eat a piledriver.
  3. Great promo from Cornette, Lane, and Prichard, basically saying that the Fultons girlfriends are begging them not to hurt them anymore, and also that their girlfriends are uggos.
  4. Dutch is pretty funny here, and I thought Barry did a good job too, "I thought it was about 25, not so many."
  5. I know he's the babyface, but Lawler is really being a dick to Eddie the last few weeks. First the whole Missy Hyatt deal, and now claiming the loss last week was the highlight of Eddie's career.
  6. Eddie continues to cut these awesome promos. I wonder if there are any attendance figures available for their MSC shows? I can't imagine them not selling out with this Gilbert/Lawler issue.
  7. A blatant rip off of Sting, with a goofy name to match. I can't imagine why this guy didn't set the promotion on fire.
  8. First a WBF promo! Savage cuts a nice promo explaining why he bent the rules to win the title from Flair, and how he's not stupid, and that people will do anything to win the title, so he'll do anything to keep it.
  9. Nothing surprising here, Warrior cuts a rambling, seemingly drug induced, promo.
  10. I like a bunch of these guys, but, as a whole, this really didn't do much for me. Plus, I hated the finish with each side unmasking someone and the ref's arguing about who actually won.
  11. Some quickie comments, as I'm a bit more halfway through the WCW Timeline with Russo: It's really nothing new as far as Russo goes. He comes across much more genuine and humble, but it's the same Russo, blaming everyone else for failures. He constantly harps on the notion that he's not doing another wrestling interview. The highlights, thus far, are his burying of the younger generation of wrestlers, namely Generation Me (IIRC they were the Young Bucks), on how Russo would tell them to slow down and work more on their character, and they were more concerned with getting a four star rating for their match in the WON. He also knocks Christopher Daniels for that same mentality, which is hilarious since Daniels and Kazarian were one of a very few entertaining acts in TNA.
  12. A very good match from two good workers. It's not exactly state of the art for the time period, but they pull it off very well. Terrible finish though.
  13. I've noticed lately, that a decent amount of posts on the board have contained links for groupon, with random words in the post being linked. I took a screen cap and posted it below. You'll see that the word "YEARBOOK" is underlined in the forum description for the 1990 section. Is anyone else getting these, or just me?
  14. Madusa looks seriously do-able here. Great segment that would look right at home in the WWF in 1999.
  15. Landell is gold here. Talking all kinds of trash and then when Horner comes up to him, he's all "Hey buddy." Nice touch with the audio going out.
  16. Loss wasn't kidding about that toupee! Cornette cuts a promo about Jackie Fulton needing to go on welfare.
  17. Ron Wright is hilarious, and DWB is great too. Kev put it best, that it's really too bad they didn't have a better babyface to work with.
  18. An excellent promo from Eddie is followed by a classic promo from Lawler. I'd be shocked if this MSC show didn't sell out.
  19. Lots of nice touches from Gilbert, namedropping World Class, AWA, and Andy Kaufman. The magazine bit is interesting, although they didn't really zoom in all that well.
  20. Hall claims that Vince hadn't ever see Scarface and that a lot of this stuff were his own ideas. It's an interesting vignette, makes him seem like a big deal. Much more than however many weeks of these silly Crush vignettes have accomplished.
  21. Gene gives a nice recap of Shango's cursing, and then Shango gives a goofy but intense promo. Gene overplays his hand, and Shango curses him too.
  22. Wow, this was 50 different types of awesome. I really loved how Misawa and Jumbo, who were magnificent as always, left things to Taue and Kobashi. It reminded me a lot of the 12/93 classic, with Misawa stepping aside to allow Kobashi to get the glory. The near falls toward the end were awesome, especially after Misawa had to save Kobashi four or five times, but when Jumbo had him tied up, Kobashi still managed to kick out of the powerbomb.
  23. This was good, but not near the level you'd expect given the people involved. There were smart touches from both, like the way Hansen blocked the enzuigiri, and Kawada switching things up and using a lariat to drop Hansen when the kicks weren't getting the job done, and Kawada takes a monster bump off Hansen's lariat.
  24. I haven't watched this yet, but when I saw this, I had to jump in: Honestly, John, I gotta disagree with what you said here. I would find it more likely that Misawa drops the fall to Taue. It sets up Taue's challenge for the TC on 7/31. Meanwhile, Misawa unseats Stan in August, and Taue is right there as the logical first challenger. Instead of Taue in Feb '93, slot in Doc or Gordy based on the tag titles win over Misawa/Kawada.
  25. I liked this OK, but it doesn't really hold up well in a yearbook setting alongside so many other great workers and matches.
