  1. A Brody to Brodie comparison could be fun.
  2. This wasn't at the level of their Super Junior final, but this was still pretty damn awesome. I love me some good limb work, and Lyger working over Sammy's arm was awesome, and Sammy brought some damned good selling, even when he was in control of things. The finish comes off like a fluke, but it still works.
  3. I sometimes have trouble getting into these sorts of matches, but not this time. The reversals and counters kept this exciting, and I didn't see the finish coming at all. After Vale won in FL, I expected Fuj to get the win back here.
  4. Whenever regular tag partners work each other, they seem to kick things up a few notches. These two cut a great pace, and didn't seem to give any concession to their partnership at all, even though working each other in this manner could jeopardize their title reign. I like Pete's Kawada comparison to Yamada, especially when it comes to her strikes. She's the perfect counterpart to Toyota and her love for suplexes and big spots. There was one thing that struck me odd, and I actually rewound to make sure I didn't miss something. Toyota pulls Yamada close to the ropes before a vertical suplex attempt, which Yamada winds up escaping and landing on the apron.
  5. I thought this was tons of fun, with the way Bull and Hokuto teed off on Takako. They pretty much just outclassed the Inoues.
  6. This really didn't do anything for me, which surprised me because I usually like Aja's matches. It had the brutality I'd expect from Aja, but seemed to meander at times.
  7. "We were running 4 towns a night, seven nights a week"
  8. I'm glad this got cut down to the last few minutes. It's not a bad match, although the booking sucks, but their Clash match is much better. There's really no good reason for the draw. Doc and Gordy were winning at the Clash being shown two days later, so it wouldn't hurt them to have lost to the Steiners here, especially with them taking the WCW straps from them a few weeks later anyway.
  9. This was excellent, and considering who was involved, that's not a surprise. But, I had a few problems with things. The big one was Steamer getting pinned early by the Rude Awakening, and then another later on not getting the job done, which seemed like it should have been done the other way. Another one was Steamboat kicking out the piledriver, despite Rude working the neck, but then Rude gets pinned with the Tombstone. But, things like that are the exception, not the rule.
  10. I've always found this to be overrated. I liked it better than I recalled, but I still don't think it's anything special. It's more or less a big bump exhibition, and while, yes, Sting takes some good ones himself, Mick is clearly doing the heavy lifting.
  11. Nice promo from Arn, making the Sting challenge out to be a big deal. To bad it didn't go anywhere.
  12. Madusa's reaction was great here. I don't get why they were already setting up a Nikita/Rude program, before Rude/Steamboat ended, even if the PPV match was non-title.
  13. Nothing to add here. Decent promo, but nothing special.
  14. This was awesome. Great promos from Eddie, and some good angles. I've seen the car angle before, but everything else was fresh to me.
  15. The Lance Russell line about Corey Macklin was the highlight here.
  16. I love Lawler's promos bringing up things from the past, considering the mentality of the time frame was to forget the past. This is the sort of angle that would probably never get over today. I see the HORNET~! is still around.
  17. Razor shows off his ride, which is another Tony Montana ripoff.
  18. Fun segment to get over Shawn's character, but this does next to nothing else. A total waste of Sherri.
  19. This was a lot better than I remembered. The amateur stuff on the mat was fun to watch, especially as things heated up between Doc and Rick, and the segment softening up Scott's knee was good too, especially the clip on the floor, and a nice logical finish.
  20. I'm a bit surprised that this made the cut, while the Low Cowboys/Freebirds match and the Rhodes/Windham vs. Anderson/Eaton match didn't. No doubt that this is good, but it's not much more than just good. Wellington couldn't really keep up with the other three and dragged things down.
  21. This was taped before Beach Blast, but it aired afterwards. Stings cuts a fired up promo to hype the Vader match, and says that when he's all fired up and has the Stingers cheering him, he doesn't feel like an underdog.
  22. Rude brings the goods on the mic, not having been to bed, for sleep, since '72, and ponders about Steamboat's seahag and little lizard.
  23. A cruise with the Freebirds from their heyday would have been a wild ride. From this time, probably not so much.
  24. I like these sort of "control center" segments, but this didn't do much for me, except for the Paul E. promo.
  25. I always get a kick out of them introducing the new executive VP as "Cowboy" Bill Watts. Ole still cuts a mean promo.
