Triple Threat or tagging with Lesnar vs HHH and someone.
-
Seeing a recent photo of Taker, I think it is safe to say he is sitting out this year, if not permanently.
-
I would imagine for marketing purposes they would be. The NBA is very individual driven as far as marketing goes. The only teams to be pushed as a team is Los Angeles and Boston and lately, Miami.
-
The thing about WWE pushing the stars of the yesteryear over the current talent isn't just a wrestling thing. Look at ESPN.com where they devote absurd amount of coverage to the idea Michael Jordan at 50 is still better than anyone they got playing in NBA.

"He's ambitiously stupid" - Why Scott Keith's new book is scary bad
Slasher replied to Bix's topic in Megathread archive
For posterity: http://www.rspwfaq.net/2013/02/bret-questions-for-blog.html I never understood what was so hard for Scott to understand. Bret was supposed to win the title and go to Mania to face Shawn. When Shawn couldn't work Mania they still had Bret win and then lose to Sid to set up the last-minute 'Taker-Sid main event. To be fair, I never understood the logic of that. Why put the belt on Bret if the title match becomes Taker/Sid? Why not have Sid take Taker out of the Final Four PPV and win the strap himself, setting up the Taker challenge? You still get to do the Hart/Austin match in that scenario. Putting the belt on Bret just to yank it off as quickly reeks of a "We're going to fuck you around" mentality with WWF towards Bret. -
I do like the idea, only because it is Mark Henry. I do just think that Dolph is probably permanently damaged. His real name isn't marketable and it would be insincere to repackage him as any other name. He has also been in or near the main event level for long enough, people know who he is. If he suddenly showed up after a hiatus as Nick Fury or something, it won't work. He can change his character though but even with time off, he needs heavy dosage of character rehab. It isn't like Henry where he returns with this kind of steam, because he is coming back off the Hall of Pain/title run. Dolph either has to have some success before getting written off, a sort of a cliffhanger push, or they need to expect a good 6 months to year rehab when he does return.
-
Dunno. I don't think it is in WWE's design for Dolph to hold the briefcase for a damned long time only to get destroyed when he finally cashes it in. I think they did the Cena DQ thing to get the whole "MITB winner loses" scenario out of the way. I think the future is rosier for Dolph and the next couple of MITB holders.

Wasn't really the question Jingus was asking, JVK. I assume the money went to his wife but I can't say with any certainty.

When you're getting a top star level WrestleMania payoff, you're going on last. I am more interested in the part where Bruno basically has Hunter agree to admitting his grudge with Vince was completely justified. I mean, really? Maybe it was but that comes across as incredibly petty to insist on that.
-
Wait, you mean you adult males here don't find the constant euphemisms to his penis to be a funny Santino gimmick?

I admit to being a crazy fuck when it comes to wrestling but I loved WCW in its dying days. Much moreso than WWF, in that era anyways. I only jumped over to WWF when Benoit did, but even then, WCW was the show to watch then, for me.
-
Thanks Dylan. After seeing that, I concur. That was just simply awesome. I don't like Sin Cara or Rey, so that was doubly pleasurable to watch.

Didnt see the show, what did Mizzark do?

A thread in which Dylan compares various wrestlers to HHH
Slasher replied to JerryvonKramer's topic in The Microscope
Dude, you have a Flair avatar. Of course it comes across a tad bit more petty calling anyone stupid for having a low opinion of Flair. You are also one of the BIGGEST Flair fanboys around, especially in this sort of community. Whatever you say carries just a bit more weight as a personal bias than what goodhelmet may say about Kane. Just the way it goes on the internet. For a while, on TSM, I would get derided for defending University of Southern California in their football threads, despite being reasonable about it, simply because I had the USC jersey as my avatar. It just goes with the territory. No need to get overly touchy about it Does this make you a fan of horny officials? Yes, Dylan, I am. In all seriousness I think I put that avatar up shortly after the outrage over Donaghy and the NBA scandal, but after all that replacement ref debacles and Super Bowl refs thing this year, it is topical again -

I meant no offense, honestly. I think anyone and everyone should feel free to be whoever they want. If you want the avatar (which is actually kickass), go for it. Screw other people. -

Gotta agree with Dylan here. Santino seems to have the better knack for getting big crowds involved with his act. I don't think Colt would get over a green sock acting as a cobra as a finisher.

I don't think anyone in the company has the uber protected finisher anymore. Maybe Orton but I dunno.

I don't know. You guys have a point there about the tag being more appealing, so I will move from that topic, but now I want to rebut the idea that Taker should only wrestle Cena. Yeah, it's a HUGE HUGE HUGE Mania "dream" match, with the Undertaker defending the streak against the guy who WWE has made obvious they are the most behind as ace. However, Cena lost to the Rock. Cena lost to Miz. Even if Cena wins the title from the Rock at Mania, he's just not as strong as he should be heading into a potential Taker Mania match. HOWEVER, since they seem to favor teasing or advertising one match a year out, what they could do is somehow end the show this year with Cena holding the belt staring down Undertaker. You can make Cena the man of destiny for 2013, having him go through the roster in a strong way, while teasing Undertaker elements here and there throughout the year, building to his return in 2014.
-
Although no one really expects Punk or Brock to go over HHH or Taker at Mania in their rumored matches, there is always room for that element of surprise. Booking a tag match involving Taker takes that completely out of the equation. Might as well construct a flashing neon light sign pointing at Brock and Punk "Jobbing Tonight". No way they end the streak in a largely meaningless tag match.
-
I would leave Ryback out to do the Show match, but logically Hunter could always ask Shawn to come back for one night to help defend the McMahon family honor against Heyman's big two. I like Shawn staying retired because it adds to 'The Streak'. now what he should do is go to The Undertaker, his toughest opponent, for help. Brock & Punk v. Triple H & Taker, Street Fight. I'd buy it. Well I was operating under the assumption that Taker is not working Mania this year. If he was, I would opt for Punk OR Brock vs Taker straight up.
-
Cesaro's awesomeness makes me even more amazed how long it took WWE to finally get him on board, even with the visa issues.

Cena also said last year he needed to beat the Rock at Mania... didn't happen. Point being, just because a guy says something, doesn't always mean it gets written in stone. Rock could just say that to boost interest in his continued involvement with the WWE as not to cause burnout and/or diminishing returns on his comebacks.

Well, why not? Who else is there? You prefer he name Triple H?
