  1. If you have CBS Sports Network they are currently showing the 1979 World's Strongest Man featuring Bill Kazmaier and CRUSHER BLACKWELL
  2. The first episode of Total Divas airs in two weeks...so they have 2 more weeks after that of those shows and 3 episodes of RAW/SD each to work with after that. I think regarding Axel it was wrong place wrong time with DB....they may do a TV match or two but I don't think a feud is in the works because with Axel he can't go over Bryan if Cena is in the cards.
  3. The storyline is there with the Bella Twins
  4. The deal with DB winning is that he's getting the SS match anyway so he didn't need it. It cheapens the MITB when someone wins it and wants a match weeks away....you cash it in on the spot.
  5. As much as I don't give a fuck about Orton, I actually have zero problem with the decision. Orton is a guy that needs something like MITB to justify a title run or any interest in a title match. He's just that stale/overexposed. A MITB cash in is also probably the best possible way to turn him heel which desperately needs to happen. I almost expect Bryan to somehow beat Cena and have Orton cash in on him immediately in your Hardy/Punk 2.0 scenario. As a match I agree that it was longish, but Sheamus being the bump freak of the match was awesome. Also Bryan was the most Mark Briscoeish I've ever seen him here. On Henry v. Cena I thought it was an awesome match, but it's exactly the sort of match that will have almost no resonance to people who aren't Henry or Cena converts. I'm not sure it's my WWE MOTY (I definitely can't see it ahead of Ohno v. Regal if you consider that WWE and you should), but WWE ppvs have been unusually dismal this year and this is probably the best WWE ppv match I've seen this year if nothing else (Elimination Chamber Shield Six-Man would be a contender). I also have zero problem with Henry losing and this is coming from a guy who turned down free tickets to Mania because I hated the way Henry was booked going into that show. I would ave preferred him lose by pinfall, but that's a relatively minor complaint. I had work and missed the majority of the show, but it seems like it's worth going back to check it out so I will You are on the money with Cena/Bryan.....Orton cashing in after DB beats Cena would be the ultimate heel move.
  6. The idea sounds good in concept but it looks like they were trying a little too hard. NOAH set the template for this type of show on the 12/24/02 show at Differ Ariake.
  7. And don't sleep on his JCP run either.....great matches with Flair, Slater, & Valentine will be on the set.
  8. Around the Horn & PTI both asked the fix question yesterday
  9. Showtime was seen as being way below HBO in terms of boxing especially after Evander & Tyson quit so them aligning with Golden Boy Promotions & Al Haymon was a huge deal plus they are shelling out more cash now than ever for non-heavyweights. They have come a long way from the days of being Don King's network showing mostly lopsided matchups. Showtime is also making HBO step up their game to create new stars which they are trying to do in a big way with guys like Gennady Golovkin, Mike Alvarado, Bam Bam Rios et al.
  10. I also remember the days when Dave was the reason why New Japan wasn't getting any love because he was pimping NOAH.
  11. I have noticed a groundswell tonight on Twitter among casual fans of UFC that don't follow wrestling that believe that the fight was "suspect"
  12. The latest from Rippa
  13. Biggest difference in UFC and boxing is of course boxing is spread out over multiple promoters and networks while UFC is pretty much a monopoly these days and has exclusivity with FOX. One promoter acting as a league can control whatever he wants while multiple promoters with multiple networks putting up the cash can spread the money around. The thing about titles is no one really gives a shit about titles anymore it's about the big fights. The only title that really matters these days is the Ring Magazine title plus the fact you have guys fighting in different weight classes like Floyd who can fight anyone from 154 down to 140 pretty much. Boxing's biggest problem is that there are no US heavyweights that are on top but even that doesn't matter too much because Wladimir Klitschko & Alexander Povetkin announced yesterday a megafight in Moscow on 10/5
  14. Promoters are shelling out the cash with help from the networks et al... There is a bidding war now even more than ever between HBO & Showtime and with Showtime going with a lot of Al Haymon guys and he gets his guys paid whether you like him or not and I can't stand him but he does his job as good as anyone.
  15. Holy shit the Matt Borne obit in this week's WON was awesome.
  16. Well you have more "rogue" fans now than ever. You watch wrestling from even 20 years ago....fans cheered for faces and booed for heels now of course there was some that went the other way on both sides but now it's cheering for whoever you want and it depends on the cities at times on who is over and who is not which can affect pushes as well because if you are hot somewhere then you go somewhere else and not over enough you could get depushed. Perfect example is Fandango...dude was hot as fire on the RAW after WM and they almost had something there but the crowds in the other cities didn't play along and it basically killed his upward momentum.
  17. TV level boxers get paid more than UFC fighters by a large margin

    Current WWE

And that NHL game did the best rating they have done in 19 years. I wouldn't worry about Bryan too much because he will get his match with Cena and you can best believe that they will make that work the best way possible.
  19. Uh wow http://www.tmz.com/2013/06/26/cm-punk-wwe-...r-mother-court/
  20. John & Nikki are still together and they have been filming scenes together for that show.
  21. They have already run through all the top guys except Punk which I'm sure is coming soon, Del Rio, and Trips which I hope never happens so once you have beaten all the top guys you have to start facing guys below them. Kane is in a holding pattern waiting for Taker to come back for the Summerslam match and I think it won't be too long after that that we will either see the Shield split or go babyface to feud with the Wyatts.
