  1. The hot talk is that Deuce will reveal that he is officially Jimmy Snuka's son and will be Ted DiBiase Jr.'s partner on Sunday.

  3. If it isn't live then it won't be the A show.
  4. Regarding Lawler and JCP, Lawler had a deal set with Crockett early in 1985 to get the world title before the end of the year. This was before the TBS merger and they did do co-promotions later in the year but by that time the plans for Lawler were squashed. Lawler wouldn't have made his retirement guarantee early in 1985 if he thought he wasn't getting the NWA title so after he didn't get it, he went on TV in December saying that he wasn't going to retire.
  5. HA I wonder how Zach feels about his former minion having more success than him.
  6. Is this the same Randazzo of the Randazoo 100 fame circa 2002.
  7. Sgt. Slaughter's face turn in 1984 in WWF was molten hot and people forget that he was as popular if not more than Hogan.
  8. Solie never worked for Vince although they did commentary together on a HBO special in like 1975 from Atlanta. Gagne worked at MSG a few times for VJM.
  9. Crockett hired the Birds in June 1984 and brought them in for TV which they worked a couple of tapings and house shows where they were positioned in semi-main events against Koloff & Kernodle for the NWA World Tag Titles. The problem was they were out of their mind on their vices and they made a scene in a locker room one night involving I think Buddy pissing all over the place. They were fired and would go to WWF soon thereafter. I was at that Horsemen/Freebirds match and yes it was awesome as the Omni was nuclear for the Birds and that's the thing, the Freebirds could be heel everywhere but Atlanta. Gordy's love for the Japanese money kept him obligated to going over there although in fairness to him of the regular gaijin, he worked the most over here pretty much especially in 1985-87 but after him & Buddy walked out of JCP in 1987, his Japanese runs multiplied. Crockett could've used the Birds in a big way when they took the TBS slot and Hayes was spotlighted the first few weeks as they were running basically a separate circuit for months there and you could really tell it by watching the TBS shows and their syndicated shows. Birds could've been big babyface draws against the Russians and the Andersons.
  10. Continental was drawing huge houses in Knoxville at that time thanks to Doug Furnas & Buddy Landell.
  11. Warhol was a wrestling fan, he would attend MSG shows even in the 70's
  12. Plus Rude had either Hart or Neidhart as his main manager as Garvin had Precious or Sunshine as his main ones.
  13. Cool. Also there's note about Piper ready to come in to the PNW at the end of this last update (posting next). Think Dave forgot that Piper was working for Vince at that point? No Piper worked for Don Owens a couple of times while working for Vince and wouldn't work Portland for Vince due to his loyalty to Don. Piper was awesome for that.
  14. Piper was working for Vince and doing shots for Maple Leaf who was still aligned with JCP so that was the deal with the match against Kernodle. Franklin Hayes = John Tatum BTW
  15. Ross' WSB show lasted for almost 2 years and it was great stuff because Ross would talk about anything in wrestling with no barriers. Michael Hayes was always the best guest because he would just say what was on his mind. Whenever Ross was busy with WCW commitments, Joe Pedicino took his spot. Good times.
  16. Adamle brings credibility too because he has done NFL & College football telecasts for well over 20 years and him being a solid broadcaster helps his cause.
  17. This generation of wrestlers mostly were fans of ECW and Japan stuff with guys getting dropped on their heads and the use of weapons so most of them are making their mark trying to outdo their heroes.
  18. Yeah I always love the talking point about wrestlers working for WWE being stuck low on the card could be doing so much better working indies. Oh really, I would much rather get paid what Londrick are getting paid than to be getting paid what say a Nigel makes working main events for ROH plus their workload is lighter and less hectic.
  19. I think a crowd could/should be understanding if a guy can't work due to a concussion and the promoter should pay them regardless if they can work or not.
  20. IIRC Roop worked totally different as Maya Singh than he did as himself.
  21. CSS is now showing Brody/Dory from AJPW on 5/8/82.
  22. Kurt was on local radio here last week spewing all kinds of bullshit about how he left WWE and how every wrestler in TNA loves being in the company. My favorite was him saying that Spike dumped WWE so they could pick up TNA because they saw that WWE was going down and TNA skyrocketing.
  23. They have been pimping the Chase website and have thanked Larry for the stuff so I guess they got permission.
  24. Bert Prentice has been airing Chase matches in his time slot with wraparound promos for his local shows with his new boyfriend Matt Boyce on CSS for the past month.
