Do you have a link to the Ole thread? Sounds interesting...

Slam! Wrestling article on anti-semitism in pro wrestling
Isaacduke replied to Bix's topic in Pro Wrestling
Coulda been Steve Williams. He never actually discusses this on the shoot, just that Williams was an asshole and he talked about Jesus constantly. Also Snow was an asshole, although I'm not sure of his religious beliefs. From his description of Robert Gibson, if it were him he would have just said it as a bad joke though. -
I don't think so. The man's 82, dementia happens. I doubt you hear much about this outside of the Minnesota/old AWA territory area.
-
That is a very 80s name, though. Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake. "Hot Rod" Roddy Piper.
-
-- Larry Finnegan, a former WWF jobber, is being charged with murder for stabbing and strangling a 20-year old woman after she bit him while they were having sex in his moving van. How is everyone sleeping on this? I can only assume she was blowing him and he hit a pothole or something. Was he found guilty?
-
What "top star" was he talking about that left for 8 months?
-
If I'm not mistaken, isn't ECW one of, if not THE, highest rated shows on Sci-Fi? Why would they cancel it?
-
Maybe he had a legit reason for having it. He sure seems like a woman with all his crying and drama. "I HAD A STAPH INFECTION AND I ALMOST DIIIIIIIIEEEEED." Oh lord. To be fair, staph infections ain't nothing to fuck with.

At this point, yeah, I say either Best Memphis Wrestler or Most Average or Worst Wrestler polls would be a hell of a lot more fun. But I agree Loss, I just can't get up for wrestling right now, and haven't for a while. I have a stack of DVDs that recently came in that I haven't even bothered to flip through, and if it weren't for Crazy Max guys having $1 sales, I wouldn't even bother with tapes now.

I know that this may sound like a joke question, but when he wrestles for ACPW in Clinton, NC, does he actually get paid as a worker, or is he a silent partner in the promotion?

So, I'm working my way through the entries in this year's Super 8, and I've lined these three up for interviews. All three are based out of the northeastern indy scene, so if anyone has any questions for them, feel free to post them here. Also, if anyone knows any good matches featuring any of these guys, that are readily available, please let me know. Thanks.
-
You know, if you want him for your show, I could probably set it up while I do my thing. I'm just saying....
-
Rob Conway has agreed to be interviewed for my still in the works, perhaps never to be seen site, prowrestlingtoday.blogspot.com. So, anyone have any questions for Rob Conway? Also, off the top of your head, does anyone have any favorite matches involving Rob Conway?
-
I have a short interview lined up with Matt Cross, and was just going to throw this out there if any of you had a question for him. Also, I'm probably going to link to 2 or 3 of his matches at the end of the post, so does anyone have a suggestion as to some of his better matches?
-
I am interviewing Human Tornado for a wrestling blog, so if anyone has a question or two for him, feel free to post it.
-
How much longer until it is officially announced? Also, I remember The Rock being a shoo-in this time, but were there any other surefire candidates up for the first time this year? If not, I'm thinking the Rock n' Roll Express may have squeaked in this year.
-
I am old enough to remember this, but for some reason I can't. When they made Fuji a manager, did they ever come out and say basically, "Yes, he was once a bad-ass wrestler"?
-
You know, if Orton hadda beat Cena a month ago for the belt, at least they would have had a "face chases heel champ" angle to maybe help the ratings a bit. And god knows I didn't start this thread just to fantasy book, I'm just throwing that out there in regards to the whole ratings scenario.
-
I was just looking at the new Entertainment Weekly's list of things to watch and was thinking that I will be taking up my both channels on my TIVO just about every night recording either new shows or new episodes of shows that I already know I like. That being the case, it looks like if I watch any wrestling it MIGHT be SMACKDOWN and that's about it. Just wondering if anyone else had thought about this, and how bad do they think RAW ratings might be this year. Keep in mind Monday Night Football is also always a threat to them this time of year.

Yeah, the Fujinami match is on a Best of the Jr. Heavys AJ Classics, and I believe the match Bix brought up is Diamond and Jerry Lawler vs Dick Slater and ? (maybe Bob Orton, I can't remember). Don't suppose anyone knows anyone with Florida footage from 79-80 and 82?
-
Don't ask me why, but it is now in my head that I must find all the footage I can of Don Diamond. Doing research online has yielded very little on where he worked (Florida in 79 & 80, then back again in 82, and Mid-South in 84). Off the top of everyone's head, do you remember anywhere else he showed up?

August 5th Loser Leaves Town Podcast w/ Dutch Savage
Isaacduke replied to Bix's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Quoted for truth. I would love to hear a group show involving Goodhelmet, Rob Naylor, and whoever else. Actually, I was thinking the other day about how you should do an Indy summit. Basically just get a bunch of guys that are all over the boards (Brad Stutts, Preston Quinn, etc.) that work the indies to basically compare their schedules and various working conditions. -

I want to join the club, but would also love a copy of the first disc. If it's possible to get a copy of #1, can I pay for both at the same time? Hell, now that I think about it, do we pay for each month's DVD on a month-by-month basis, or is it $30 in advance for a 6 month subscription?

Hey guys, I just wanted to point out something. Xanax keeps getting mentioned as an anti-depressant. It's not. It's actually an anti-anxiety med, which makes sense if Benoit was playing Spy Hunter everytime he left the airport. Zoloft IS an anti-depressant however.
