Is it odd I find Asuka's 10-15 seconds on the mic. more pleasant than most of Ronda's more extensive promos?

He didn't wrestle in small venues in Indiana in front of 25 people for IWA-MS for free because Ian didn't pay him nor did he do an extensive New Japan tour that consisted of him having Meltzer six star matches against Kenny Omega and Juice Robinson?

This. Agreed entirely. No matter how WWE try to spin Ronda, she's still going to get a horrible rep. amongst a lot of people. Same thing with Conor.

Upon initial watching, this is another great Johnny Gargano match and up there with the Andrade Almas championship match from the previous TakeOver event. I would love to read someone's review upon having re-watched it.

The eyeliner?

This match rules. Everyone came to fight as the majority of them are wearing torn up jeans, boots and beat up tank tops and some of them are already bleeding before the match or have a bandage over their covering up cuts from previous matches. This is a tornado tag street fight and there's just brawling all over Korakuen Hall while the crowd goes bananas. Early on in the match, Tanaka takes a wild piledriver from Hido on a table. When the guys get back to the ring, this turns into a bomb fest and Hosaka pulls off a really cool sitout spinebuster counter to a tornado DDT from Tanaka. They get some great near falls in the finishing stretch, however the ref. botches a count and accidentally counts to 3, but says there was a kickout and he allows the match to continue. Really great stuff and everyone looked really good aside from Kuroda who was actively bad whenever he the guy featured on video. He hit Hosaka with some embarrassingly bad strikes, but Hosaka was smart enough to no sell them.
