I don't mind any chants aside from "You Fucked Up". I like hearing the crowd get into a match, wether or not I think the chants are clever.

Holly was pissed at Juvi because Juvi used the Alabama Slam after being expressly told not to. I believe he also did a 450 Splash on London where he landed his knee into London's face.
-
I'm in shock. God, I'll miss him. Rest in peace Eddie.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Jericho suffering from a concussion during that match with Rhyno at Sumerslam 2001?
-
It would explain why they stopped selling the Captain Charisma shirts before he left. Even when they were selling them, they were hard to find at house shows. They didn't have any at the house show I went to in Vancouver.

The Hardcore Openweight title was I believe started by Jun Akiyama. All title matches have a 15 minute time limit and if time expires then the Champion loses the match and the belt. Scorpio is fairly over in Japan still, having just held the Tag Titles with Doug Williams not to long ago.

Yeah, which is why I offer Meltzer a hearty "fuck off" whenever I see him get all lovey dovey about Angle's in-ring wrasslin skillz. Yea d00der! Fuck, the only time I *ever* thought of Angle as an actual Olympic Gold medalist in a WWE ring was when he worked against Chris Benoit in their Wrestlemania 17 match. Funny enough, Benoit, the fake wrassler, was doing most of the actual leading on the mat. That was the only time I actually thought Angle looked like a legit wrestler. It also doesn't help he's a goofball too for some real wrasslin killer. Both Benoit and Angle have stated that Kurt lead that match.

Undertaker may not be a great worker but he's likely been more effective as a big man (at least in North America) than any modern worker. When it comes to ranking the best big men I think you have to look not just at his in ring ability but how well he plays the role. Undertaker, especially when he first debuted scared the shit out of people. Undertaker hasn't needed to be a great worker because his brand of "charisma" is so effective that when he sells or loses a match it's much more impressive than what you see from other workers.

And the new lead announcer of RAW is...
MyOwnSummer replied to goodhelmet's topic in NMB Wrestling Archive
Not only is he lead announcer but he's doing it solo right now. EDIT: Lawler is there now. -
Well my brother's 16 and after the segment he phoned me and was marking out for The Iron Claw and bitching that Dr. Death didn't do anything. But he's not your typical kid.

I'm glad I stayed spoiler free. I admit I marked for "team sd". It was certainly an impressive debut show. I hope they can keep it up.

Matches Announced for "Bound For Glory"
MyOwnSummer replied to sek69's topic in NMB Wrestling Archive
I think that there's a decent chance of Lyger putting over Joe. Didn't he lose to Juvi on Nitro by getting hit in the head with a Tequila bottle? -
But didn't Vince give Shawn permission to mock Hogan? I recall reading that.

Anyone else miss fat guys in wrestling?
MyOwnSummer replied to Loss's topic in NMB Wrestling Archive
At least there's Samoa Joe for you Loss. -
He was at the hotel with his gear, and never showed up supposedly.

Now THIS is my new favorite wrestling picture
MyOwnSummer replied to silverwidow's topic in NMB Wrestling Archive
I think that my favorite wrestling picture(s) at the moment are from one of Liger and Muta's matches; -
I think Jericho is just doing an excellent job manipulating everyone trying to see what kind of offers he can get, and how his fans would react if he went to TNA.

My thoughts; Orlando Jordon? Vs. Chris Benoit; US Championship I don't get why they jobbed OJ so fast but I'm glad Benoit didn't job twice in a row to him. Edge w/ Lita Vs. Matt Hardy They had a good brawl going until the awful finish. Far too short also. Kurt Angle Vs. Eugene w/ Christy Hemme Well Angle looked dominant... Eddie Guerrero Vs. Rey Mysterio; Ladder Match I haven't seen the GAB match so I can't say wether this was a better wrestling match but they did have some good spots WWEbooking aside. The big spot with the backdrop off a ladder onto the bridged ladder was insanse and I thought both of them were dead. The Undertaker Vs. Randy Orton I thought this was the match of the night actually. Orton impressed me, the finish was a little obvious but I enjoyed it anyway. John Cena? Vs. Chris Jericho; WWE Championship This was pretty good. Not much to say about it pass that. Batista? Vs. John "Bradshaw" Layfield; World Championship I was really suprised that this didn't go longer and that JBL got beat like that. The powerbomb on the steps was sick. Hulk Hogan Vs. Shawn Michaels Shawn bumped like nuts and managed to get all the (canadian) fans at the theater on his side but Hogan going over left a bad taste. I know they want to do Hogan/Austin but I was unhappy. Shawn shouldn't have shaken Hogan's hand because now he's back where he started.

I went to a WWE houseshow in late May and they didn't have his Captain Charisma shirts their either despite their being a big demand for them (it's Canada after all.). I recall reading house show reports saying that they weren't available at some other shows too.

Sorry, just got answered.

I started watching NOAH with the 03/05/05 show. I went in only really having seen Misawa and (very little) Tenryu. I'd honestly never even heard of Kobashi before I watched his match with Rikio. Kobashi impressed me then, and has continued to do so at subsequent events. I also got ahold of his match with Misawa in '03 that Loss mentioned and a few other of his title defenses. I can't really say wether or not he's regressed since 1998 but I can say that he entertains me more than most of the guys in North America right now. I've also became a huge fan of KENTA, Akiyama, SUWA, and... Bison Smith. I'm seriously looking forward to this show and I just hope that Kawada/Misawa deliever the goods.

10 Things You'd Do To Improve Current WWE
MyOwnSummer replied to Loss's topic in NMB Wrestling Archive
Well I didn't mind it for ECW because ECW normally catered to the Metal crowd. And didn't they use "Bodies" asa theme music during the Invasion until 9/11. -
I watched the ppv in the theater as usual. Everything but the last three matches was either crap or completely forgetable. I'd say 10 or 15 people left right after after the HBK Vs Angle match which had by far the most heat at the theater. I liked Angle/HBK at WM better than this match if only because Angle went over in that match. Cena/Christian/Jericho was good but not spectacular. The HIAC was far better than I expected it to be but definetly didn't live up to the hype.
-
I was watching the show with my family and I can still remember all of us breaking down, and the next day at school everyone being in a deep funk, even if they didn't really follow wrestling.
-
I did, I watched the show at the theater. It was certainly entertaining and both men, especially Cena got some good colour going. Angle/Booker was nothing special, and the angle surronding it was embaressing to watch. Chavo/London was entertaining though it had it's flaws. London was making everyone in the theater pop, and he got some huge sympathy groans as well. Eddie/Rey was my favorite match of the night. I didn't mind the DQ ending at all, and Eddie did a bunch of little things that really added to it for me, such as rolling Rey in and out to break the count, and dropping down to avoid the West Coast Pop only for rey to hit a Diving headbutt. MNM vs Haas/Holly seemed to have been rushed but Haas brought his A game hitting some good spots. Holly getting thrown into the post shoulder first looked strange because he went sailing past it while trying to turn himself into it. Heindreich vs Jordan was painful. The Heindreich walk looks like he's paralyzied on one side. Big Show vs Carlito... not as bad as the Heindreich match, but that's all I can say.
