  1. At least when Vince promoted God for a PPV, he actually appeared to show up. This is pointless. As a 19 year old mark, I thought it would be possible Vince would show up. Still a year and a half away from being a WON subscriber and dumb as shit.
  2. This would have been better with Hector. Mando didn't seem like he had been following anything.
  3. This reeks of desperation. The wheels are falling out the nostalgia/hip nwo train. Sorry, Eric.
  4. Jamie Dundee being Jamie Dundee.
  5. Enjoyed the setup for the match and Candido is miles above Storm on the mic.
  6. Never liked the Dudley's and didn't like this.
  7. Great segment and really good match to boot. The WWF is definitely on a roll. I underestimated 98 WWF. It's 99 that is the shits. I guess I was thinking of 98 WCW.
  8. The match that would main event two of the next three WrestleMania's not given a second thought here.
  9. I had enough of this gimmick in ECW, where it was performed much better, and here it is in WWF.
  10. It was as they were pushing him main event as he comes in and attacks Austin during the main event. I'll take this Dustin over the "he's coming back" Dustin.
  11. I had hoped Waltman's response would have been more biting. He isn't very good at comebacks. It was cool that he was able to respond within minutes of Bischoff's attack.
  12. All I could think of is how the affect of the CNN blowing up looks like something out of an AVGN episode.
  13. Weird to see Pat out here for this trivial problem when he has the main event to worry about. That ginger security guard looked like he went to the gym and just benched for a year straight - no leg work.
  14. Lawler trying to talk himself out of it is the best part.
  15. I noticed all the viagra references as well. Sable's implants are beyond fucking ridiculous at this point. Perfect for 19 year old me, but 37 year old me knows it is quality not quantity. I think they need to change the saying from, "Like nails on a chalkboard" to "like Sable talking on the mic" I wonder how Brock deals with it.
  16. More exceptional work from Austin and VKM/stooges.
  17. With all the talk about Patterson doing rear end work part-time here, I always wondered who worked on the front end? Seriously though, very funny stuff.
  18. Just two years later, Mr. "dark and mysterious/tortured soul" would be playing kazoo's and posing for five seconds.
  19. "Kevin Kelly ain't worth a damn!" - Steve Austin. Well said, Steve.
  20. It was around this time in 1998 that the ever confident smark in me mad a list of the Top workers in the WWE. At number one was, Al Snow. My friend scoffed at it, but I was proud to think I was more knowledgeable. In hindsight, what the fuck was I thinking?

    WWE TV 8/29-9/4

    Post of the year.
  22. Nothing is more sad than Piper coming out with what he thinks is killer material only for it to fall dead flat. It's like he went to make They Live and came back for the rest of his career thinking he's still got it. Well, even more sad would be the build up for the main events at Slamboree.
  23. Loved everything about this. Also enjoyed Gene pulling the mic away from Joe before they lost the crowd.
  24. Nash getting in his digs while he can before he tries to go toe-to-toe with the Rock and gets handled. Hogan's comebacks are on par with the ever popular, "No! You are!" After the little pissing contest we actually get to the story line and ends with Giant out as an nwo member. Here comes smoking on his way to the ring, Giant.
  25. Nitro Parties go the way of "1 800-collect road report with Lee Marshall." A complete afterthought.
