  1. Hogan gives Vince his blessing that if Stevie Ray gets out of line tonight, he can pop him. Vince is such a loyal soldier.
  2. This is not great stuff as both of these people were still learning but hey if someone looked like Torrie was proposing things to me, it would be tough to resist.
  3. Quick graphic up for the Renegade's passing.
  4. Vince might have well be stroking his penis during this whole segment because he is at his pompous best here. The interviewer was brutally bad with his "tough takes" and trying too hard. Bischoff seems really phony and bush league. Vince's president line is the icing on the cake.
  5. Bradley coming out to the WarZone theme was WTF. This also exposes Hat Guy as he sat there politley and watched the action instead of being a cheering bumbling fool at ECW when he knows the camera is on him. This wasn't great but as someone that watched a handful of US indy stuff vetting for this set, this was the best of the bunch as it at least had some resemblance of a storyline. Bradley wins. **1/4
  6. I don't like Styles but this was him at his absolute worse. The visual of Callis in the crowd was cool but its not like he is some huge star anyway. I really liked this once the brawl started as Francine speared Jason to a huge pop and Douglas/Dreamer embracing felt like a burying the hatchet moment.
  7. King comes out for a tag match and is flabbergasted that Mae has inserted herself into the tag match. He tells her to make sure her Medicaid and Medicare is all in order before it starts. The tag match starts and I love when Stasiask and Brian flaunt for the women in the crowd to the dismay of Dave. The Memphis announcers are the best at acting disgusted at heel tactics. Mae joins them on commentary and Corey fishes for an apology that doesn't come. Mae gets all revved up again and she enters the ring to put the boots to Lawler. Her an Stacy have a pull apart and this is just great stuff overall. 1/2*
  8. I have been sold on this angle but adding Mae just put it over the top. I don't know if there was a better Memphis angle since 1993 as this is gold with Mae ripping on Stacy and beating up Corey Maclin with her purse.
  9. Hayes has been the Tony Atlas 1990 standout so far and this was another good edition to the canon.
  10. I loved the stuff in the opening with Santo and Casas interacting. The match had two good falls but it is the third that really sets this across. The dive stuff was set up wonderfully as I was wondering why Bestia was acting so lackadaisical and then bam, Santo runs right into Casas. A little later, Santo is out of the match and the crowd really rallys behind Casas. He gives a valiant effort only to be fouled by Scorpio and the rudos win and nearly start an Arena Mexico riot. Stuff gets pelted and words are exchanged. Give me more please. ****1/4
  11. Agree with the length comments but I thought this was great and showed four hungry guys giving it their all in a foreign type environment and mixing in wrestling and crazy spots. I may be overating this but it was so appreciated to see them try all this different stuff and not get discouraged with things didn't execute exactly right. Virus and Ultimo carried the other team in my opinion. Glad this made the cut. ****
  12. No problem with this being given away as taped earlier since we had the Disco production stuff. I liked this a lot and thought Hogan really excelled as Flair and gave a gutty performance even doing mannerisms like Flair slamming his coat down exactly. Nash as Arn is mean spirited but still funny. Hall seemed to have moments but was weaker overall. Surprised this isn't remembered more.
  13. Kind of funny watching this and the dateline special coming up where Bischoff talks about WCW being sanitized. This didn't leave a whole lot to the imagination.
  14. I think this match should have been what the hot tag should have been in the tag match. A great example of being selfless for a bit can provide something great for everyone involved. Nash saying Liz wouldn't wear the mask at first says a lot. Nash sold the shock well and this was a fun match. *3/4 Konnans video was well done. I don't know how endearing he looked to certain parts of the region (Im grouping Alabama where I lived at the time) but it was effective to a projected audience.
  15. I liked this match and it was nice to see Bret fairly motivated since when he staggers out he has the biggest "what the fuck am I doing here" look. Bret worked over the leg well and made Booker's comeback and the finish feel well earned while at the same time keeping Hitman strong. In some ways, this was like him working Davey Boy but it didn't have the atmosphere to overtake that series. ***1/4
  16. Dumb vignette for sure but kind of a guilty pleasure for me because Pump and Buff are so full of themselves.
  17. The teddy burning is a iconic image that still resonates fifteen years later. The actual match looked a little more spirited than the usual Kane vs. Taker affair but this is mainly here for the finish and what would come as a result.
  18. Odd match. Both guys worked their ass off but the weird start was too much to overcome for the match overall for me. I don't know if it was just both guys going into the themes they were most comfortably with or what but it was really weird for Hogan to be the defacto face and the fact that we had a relatively tentative start to what was a blood feud. And yeah that finish.... just awful. Woflpac completely dominated this show. I have a whole lot to say about this show whenever we get there on WTBBP,. but it was interesting and depressing to revisit. **3/4
  19. 27 seems to be taking too much of a beating to me. I was at WM 27 and 29 and Im not sure which show overall I liked better. 27's main event of Cena vs. Miz isn't good but neither is Cena vs. Rock at 29. I don't think anything on either show was as bad as the Lawler vs. Cole segment but HHH vs. Taker is my favorite match of both shows (yes, above Punk). I also don't think 29 had a Punk vs. Orton type match that is good from an undercard perspective. I have no problem calling WM 27 maybe a bottom 10 WM, but I don't see how it is worse than 4, 9, 15, 2, 1, or 11. I also think it is interesting that you listed 6 in the bottom 10 as I could see that being a point of contention even from a match quality standpoint, it is a one match show.
  20. Big night for Hall for some reason. No heat for this at all and Roddy gets much more of his heat back in defeat than Rey did because Roddy is a young up and comer to push. This is terrible stuff. Also noticed no Bam Bam vs. Goldberg which shows how they squandered that once hot feud.
  21. One of the dumbest things in wrestling history and I mean that sincerely. I can't see how anyone justified this nonsense and the way it went down was so embarrassing with Rey completely punked out and lost his identity. Fuck off WCW.
  22. Good action at finish of the first match even though the crowd doesn't care much. Second match really never gets going as Barry uses his belt to choke Malenko and win the tag straps for him and Hennig. Tim, this was a double elimination tournament and Hennig/Windham had 0 losses while Benoit/Malenko had one going in.
  23. Maeda gets his send off here and actually stayed true to it. Touchy stuff with the My Way video. So long Akira.
  24. I thought this was actually pretty great. Douglas looks sincere and Francine continues to be an excellent second. He gives a great send off promo only for Credible and Storm to leech off the heat. Good business on the way out and the attack on Francine was brutally violent.
  25. Dudleys pretty much end PE run of relevance anywhere in the wrestling scene. We then get Mustafa turning on New Jack which is the latest in a feud of former tag partners that no one really wants to see.
