  1. Tenzan and Kojima have a pull apart and are just tagging up. Shibata and Honma do their cool odd couple stuff as a tag and arent tagging here on the big show. Even though Tanahashi vs. Yano and Fale vs. Okada are played out and boring, those factors along with Komatsu getting some serious offense on nagata had me hopeful. That card looks like a step back. I really don't know what will happen in the main event as it seems weird timing for either one of those guys to lose.
  2. They are still doing this heel JR stuff huh.
  3. This is the money angle Mania has been missing as everyone has a purpose and comes out and we get a classic segment with tons of stuff going on and culminating in the beer bath which can be replayed to this day. Money segment in every sense of the word.
  4. This match is ok but they didn't mesh as well as I would have thought with the Ricky Morton template there for the match vs. Flair. Some miscommunication and ugly spots prevent this from being much more than a history antidote of these two guys facing each other. I remember as a teenager thinking Flair in the pool made him look foolish and dumb booking. ** 1/4
  5. Bret plants seeds for a GOldberg feud and buries the WCW for their efforts in booking him. I actually think Bret is showing more fire here in his delivery than he did throughout most of 1998.
  6. NWO looks too cool for school again with a bikini contest when the Miss Nitro selected by WCW is wearing pants. Nash does get in some funny lines but main is his booking looking more and more like lip service to himself lately with this shit.
  7. Agree that this was basic Rings action and it felt like Tamura playing with Kanehara until he did the cross arm breaker and took this home. That being said, Tamura by the numbers still makes for a good match when given time and they did stay true to the storyline they crafted out here. Disappointing for RINGS matches but still good overall. ***
  8. This looked like a lot of fun with Tenkoji rising up the ranks. In fact, I kind of have to question them losing here. New Japan continues to be ridiculously annoying in the editing department of these matches.
  9. COmplete lack of heat to the finish of this. Taz wins to solidify himself as the ace of the promotion once and for all. Again, the handshake at the finish was played like a big moment but the crowd didn't really care all that much about it.
  10. After watching the Hardcore Heaven match recently, I thought this was way better than that and do think the match is good overall even if the transitions are really aimless. It is essentially an extended spotfest that tries to be dramatic and epic. An annoying style that doesn't hold up well at all. The restart was a tease at getting the crowd invested only for RVD to retain the tv title. ***
  11. Taz gives us his game plan going into the match tonight. Good promo but a weird setting with the beach in the background.
  12. Worldwide feels like a fun corner around this time to maybe investigate. This was a blast with Kaz bumping like a loon and Raven looking vicious for once. Hudson on commentary was good too. **1/4
  13. Blah match that we have seen a million times in ECW. They try to make the Sabu vs. Taz altercation feel really special but it doesn't have any effect.
  14. Stacy has brought in the Fabs and can do things on her own. She again seems to be at odds with Jerry.
  15. Kurt cant decide if he is a heel or face here as he riles the crowd up talking about the USA but then with his tone and cockiness they are unsure what to think. He is wearing some black gear and looks fairly different from an overall presentation standpoint as he would 10 months later.
  16. The feud has ended and Stasiak is gone. Kind of sudden as I still wanted a bit more stuff with Mae Young. Stacy helped give Jerry the win to finish off the feud and send Sean packing.
  17. Incredible match and my #2 MOTY so far. Frantic action and tons of highlights showing a great violent wager match spectacle in a tag setting. The masked wrestlers paired off here and so did Casas vs. Bestia.Cases dive to the outside was great and we had some sick shots and mask ripping from Santo and Scorpio. The ending with the rudos being completely pissed and removing their mask and haircut in disdain was great and visceral. Awesome stuff all around. ****1/2
  18. Another awesome match and I thoroughly enjoyed this show overall. This felt like a great thinking mans match with counters and each person not wanting to get caught. This match didn't last very long but packed a lot of stroyline and grappling into the twelve minutes it lasted. Hash winning feels like one of the career highlights for him. ****
  19. This was great. Tenryu was a complete dick and Fujinami dipped into the fountain of youth and may have turned in his best performance of the 1990's. Short match but really great why it lasted and full of fight. A vicious spectacle that adds to both GOAT cases. ****1/4
  20. Fun spectacle type match. It got a little long in the tooth but the visuals will stay with me for a long time as both Shinzaki and Muta delivered some stuff that really played well on a big stage like this. Good match and a memorable one making it a success for what they were trying to accomplish. ***1/ 4
  21. Agree that this isn't as good as the 94 stuff, but I still thought it was a really good match with some interesting intricate mat work and some insane dives to the floor. I guess the dome crowd being less than enthused doesn't have as much bearing on me. Felt like a big win too at the finish. ***1/2
  22. Great match with the underlying feel that nash can bolt at any time. This had some controlled spots that looked reckless like the powerbomb through the table that has the headsets popping off King and Vince. The Vachon spot is awesome and incredible dickish and really leads us right into the finish. Nash looks good leaving the promotion but Shawn continues to be at least impressive in the actual PPV matches this year at being an effective babyface. ****
  23. Really good match while it lasted and Tony and Dusty calling this are vastly superior than the Nitro crew right now. I like that WCWSN has their own feuds going on and this one is hot at the moment. **1/2
  24. I enjoyed this and the build as Diesel has some legit claims but still comes across as a dick based on his delivery. They really set up the match to be really personal and a good brawl.
  25. New intro with some wretched singing. This looked like something from 95 WWF and not the company that has been showing signs of an edgier product.
