  1. This was fun to see the whole roster get intertwined and argue over the awards. Good cap to PPW which actually had more good stuff than I thought.
  2. I always like when Memphis does these as it makes me nostalgic for the year and you get the timeline of the year as a whole.
  3. This action looked good even with a shitload of people on the outside. Test was pushed hard and looked good here even though he had to be saved by Rock after eating the pedigree. This breaks down and the lights go out with Kane to a huge pop. Kane attacks DX and looks to have joined the Corporation.
  4. Yep, we are to the stage of throwaway end of the year Raws and this got WAY too much air time. The stuff with D-Lo was amusing but this just pushed the envelope as much as they could because they could. Match was nothing 1/4*
  5. Dont Piss this man off with semen stained dresses.
  6. LOD look like two geezers arguing at the nursing home here over a game of chess. Hawk fingers Droz as the pusherman. Yippee.
  7. Windham not joining the NWO but doing their dirty work is a little odd. Flair whips his ass and gives him multiple punches to the nuts and fights dirty. I loved the Horseman sneak attacking the NWO coming down and Bobby rightfully says this is what they should have done all along. Tony pointing out that its dumb they are getting restrained by security shows how effective he still could be at this time when allowed to do his own thing. Remember we are only two weeks away from his most regrettable call as an announcer and where people have constantly said he had checked out. Tenays new favorite saying is "LET THEM GO" Flair comes back into the ring and gives maybe the promo of the year. This has been a great year for mic work and this was so amazing with him mixing in swears and displaying emotion you just don't see much. I felt chills when he was talking about Reid and how his message to him is to never give up. That is haunting stuff.
  8. I thought this was great. Eddy is really turning it up late in the year and was awesome here. Larry gives a groan inducing line on commentary that says he could break both of their necks if he wanted to. Tony appropriately tells him to pound sand and he is "needed here". The work on Rey's leg was great and Rey has regained his swagger mixing in great highspots with his awesome timing. Finish was fine to me too with Rey and Kidman having some beef now heading into Starrcade. (***1/2)
  9. Well, I maybe can forgive the previous week as this was captivating. Flair being inspirited and lively is amazing and his promos are still spot on this late in the game as he riles the crowds up to a frenzy. I think this should have been the swan song for the NWO and Bischoff as a character if he loses. They could have done something like Hogan and Bisch getting into a bit of a skirmish about Hogan not caring anymore. Hell Hulk vs. Flair here could have worked. Anyway, I loved this for Flair.
  10. Nash finally delivers a great money promo but it feels a little too late and this build has had some great elements in this and the Wrath squash but the Bam Bam distraction has been overpowering and this certainly was not the right time for what was about to happen.
  11. For four minutes, this was spectacular with Mini Max showing a ton of moves and Torito being a great base. I could have watched at least 6-7 more minutes of this. (**1/2)
  12. Mini Max Claus has big heat.
  13. I love segments like this. It gets me in the Holiday spirit and we get the big tour of Jerry's home before the Christopher and Stasiak stuff. I guess they walk around in their gear. I loved that Lawler threw a fireball in his house.
  14. I am a bit confused as to the timeline of Santo being a tecnico or Rudo but damn if him and Casas aren't a great team. I watched this before the set came out and loved it as a sprint brawl with tons of stiff shots, mask ripping and overall chaos. The time and cohesiveness prevents it from being an all time classic but it was a great end to 1998 lucha which when it cropped up, impressed me quite a bit. (****)
  15. This was a good debut but the styles clash at times did throw me off. Candy really tried to bring in the air moves and Yoshida grounded her at every corner. As an introduction to the style, it was good but I am hoping for more uniformity in 1999 Arsion. (***1/2)
  16. Agree this is rougher in retrospect. They took a very personal slant on this angle and probably should have just let it stay with the wrestlers. This did get heat but at what cost.
  17. They show Brady's picture from his wrestling days and referee days.
  18. The low blow nearfall was good and a nice callback to SSlam. The action here looked good and HHH was put over strongly. Test makes his debut and the Corporation keeps growing.
  19. Mainly here to see Foley take the big bump and the stooges to clown around a lot. Vince is in his black sweatshirt wrestling gear.
  20. I really liked this segment. Especially Shane asking for another chance and drawing #1 again. VInce saying WCW never fails to make me laugh. He gets #30 and Austin has NO CHANCE IN HELL! Give me Vince vs. Austin still over Austin vs. anyone else.
  21. The Corporation gets a stronghold on all the major titles with Shamrock and Boss Man winning the tag straps here.
  22. We have the sexual Chocolate theme now and Mark talks about his exploits of Chyna from last week.
  23. I dont know if this was better than The Nation parody or not. Jason Sensation was my highlights having Shawns mannerisms down. HHH as The Crock just isnt very funny and way too generalized. I did love The Rock here going through the series of catchphrases until he found his. Shawn next to the Rock is a lot of fun.
  24. This was tasteless but their was attention and care to detail here that has been absent at points in 1998 WCW causing them to lose focus and overall the war. I did like that Eric had street clothes on for instances.
  25. Bret and DDP are continuing their endless feud that helped neither. Giant chokeslams DDP from the Nitro stage through some of the plunder. Probably the last significant thing Giant did in WCW.
