Exile on Badstreet #11 (The Most Known Unknown)
ZThomas replied to KrisZ's topic in Publications and Podcasts
I n the begining you talked about how Bret thought Memphis wrestling was hokey and I kinda had the same opinion grewing up although I was never really exposed to it. I got me educated about it through this board and DVDVR and have become more intrigued by it. Memphis wrestling seemed to be the most consistant with angles and feuds than any other terriitory ever I really want to see Koko Wares work in Memphis as well as Eaton Can wait for part two -

PTBN Reaction Show: NXT Takeover Brooklyn

I took it as Hunter trying to get a pop from Pac Hall & Nash -
The tv has still been good with some of those guy being slowly phased off, granted all of them have still been featured even Owens who signed his main roster contract in May but I imaging after Saturday the wont be on NXT nearly as much. As for Zayn Im sure he wouldve been on Raw regularly if he didnt need sugery after the Cena match, So I believe he'll be on the main roster after he heals even though they left it open for he and Owens to finish there feud in NXT. Even Charlotte still has a feud open with Dana which is smart.

I'd chose NXT for the Brooklyn show but I the future it would depend on how good the TV and who's on the Card. If NXT runs Survivor Series Weekend in ATL when ROH runs I might not chose NXT if Sasha isnt on the card. I do believe that with HHH on the defensive as far as ROH SainClair may put more money behind ROH than they would have otherwise which is great for ROH

Exile on Badstreet #10 (The Battles of Backlund)
ZThomas replied to KrisZ's topic in Publications and Podcasts
This has gotten me to go back and listen to the titans of wrestling episodes on the early 80's WWF -
-Dave Meltzer revealed on the last edition of The Wrestling Observer Radio that the finish on last week’s edition of Smackdown did not go as planned. The match reportedly got cut about several minutes shorter than it was originally supposed to go. It was also supposed to get another TV segment. The match ended when Naomi reversed a small package by Charlotte for the win. Naomi looked like she was upset after the match was over. Meltzer criticized the reaction since Naomi should have looked happy because she won the match. The match did get cut short, but it did give the Divas a goodDEAL of time on the program. The bout started as a singles match before it turned into an impromptu tag team match. It added up to a total of 20 minutes of TV time for the Divas on the show. This Week in Wrestling for August 8, 2015
ZThomas replied to Grimmas's topic in Publications and Podcasts
I caught up on my WWE TV mainly to listen to this, Ive been watching Raw and SmackDown more consistantly for last 3 weeks and its been over a year a half since I watched a full Raw consistantly and I'm enjoying WWE thats why I like to hear Johnny speak positively on WWE. I've always loved Paige I got a soft spot for 2nd and 3rd generation wrestlers anyways but Austin seemed legit facinated by her and I loved it -
Watched the Team Bella vs Flair & Lynch and I see that Charlottes execution of her moves are dangerous, Fox bumps like a maniac so that doesnt help and thinks she is still the best out of Team Bella. Charlotte is going to get exsposed but the thing is She is who the want to push the hardest out of the 3 new girls even though Sasha is running the hardest with the ball she's been given. Lynch have been good but you can tell she's the 3rd wheel right now

Exile on Badstreet #10 (The Battles of Backlund)
ZThomas replied to KrisZ's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Im half way through this and I was thinking that Backlud during his title run reminds me of Bryans ROH title run. I watched a few of Backlunds title matches a few years ago and he was able to work differently with diffent guys and even the return matches where diffferent. Now I want to see his matches with Orton, Ortorn was able to have some really good matches on some of the house shows even after he split with Piper during his second Run that air on WWE COD. WWE Nework needs to add more of the houseshows from the early 80's because the few the have up now is wack. -
If he ditches the missle dropkick, The Dive to the outside and that Razor Ramon Backdrop off the tope rope the he'll be fine. He didnt you alll thoe 3 moves in every ROH match, so I never understood why he used those 3 moves so often in WWE? If that whole Dr Ammon/Punk thing wasnt going on then he'd be back in the ring. I think Bryan knows that if he was to work outside WWE then he'd be making alot more than Styles Overseas and Indies but you know WWE wont let him go even if they know they wouldnt use him as a top guy again
-
I image they'll use Owens Becky Charlotte and or Sasha for the Texas shows b/c they are going to need more established names against ROH. last weeks NXT Zayne nentioned Owens in a promo saying they arent done so Owens still has a tye in to NXT after Brooklyn

Im not saying he couldve lived upto his worth but That havint booked him like he's worth 5 mil, likey Dylan said, He lost his firsr match for Cena's sake because They didnt want Cena to lose 2 PPVs in a row loses to HHH at the next big PPV only because they wanted to set up a rematch at Mania so its like he wasnt the biggest priority in terms of investing. I agree that Bray Wyatts biggest herdle has been the booking same with Reigns. I've had to explain to people during Mania season why he was getting rejected by the fans, they dont really follow at all but they liked Reigns I get the feeling that alot of the boos is just a trend in the Smark towns because he has won me over and I never really rejected I was just waiting to see how he develope as a performer and he has

Listening to the begining which that talk about R-Truth and New Day as black stereotypical charactors and I was thinking about how Sasha Banks has come in with a ready made charactor and how lucky she is that she didnt have to worry about being stuck with a stupid gimmick. Its reminds me of The Rock during his run in the Nation because he developed a persona that was his and he took control of it. As long as she is able to take control of how her image is portraid then shes good because we know she is excellent in the ring. She has that presence like she owns it when comes out to ring talking shit to the camera and even to her oppenents during the match like Mark Henry or Owens.

From what I cant tell, Sasha is a student of the game, She lives wrestling, she studies it. On Sunday the day of Battleground she tweeted about Dynamite vs Tiger Mask and the day of the last TakeOver she tweeted about watching Dean vs Eddie matches to prepare for her match. She'll tell you in a heart beat that She wasnt a fan of the women growing up, She is influenced by Eddie and Dean ect. She could get by off here charactor and looks but she really wants to be a good worker and she has gotten a chance to grow in NXT on top of the fact that she did spent time on the indies prior to getting signed, But long before this whole Revoloution thing some of the Divas have tried to put more effort in their inring work, I remember reading about the Bellas studing Joshi which is no surprise because of Bryan. Even before that during Eve Torres run I heard the Divas were watching shimmer so its not like these other Divas dont want to be good. I think you are only going to get better by working guys better than you so I think Becky, Paige, Bayley and Sasha ect will be a benefit on top of the fact you got Finlay and Del Rey as agent with hopefully more time to work with bell to bell

I'll wait till i go back to work tomorrow to listen this is the main reason i watch the WWE PPVs. Im watching a few matches from Dominion just to listen to that reaction show.

Flair's podcast (WOOOOONation)

Flair may have the best podcast of all the wrestlers, I goes by so quick that he forget to ask alot of questions. Like he could have Steaboat back on and it would be completely frest to me. -

This makes me want to get the Portland 80's set, I first discovered DVDVR and this board around the time it was done and it led me to go search Portland on Youtube. I'm not familiar with Luke & Butch outside WWF except a bit of stampede footage and Bret's first DVD. Dylan & Kris needs to do an Exile on Bandstreet for Portland at some Point- 12 replies

WWE The Beast In the East Special... Live As It Happens
ZThomas replied to goodhelmet's topic in WWE
This Japan show was booked towards the internet/NXT fans and the commentary reflected that by the acknowedging NJPW and Dragon Gate heavily and even a bit on New Japans title history. It would be too much work to run house shows like TV any way. Just Run then like the old MSG, MLG and Sectrum shows back in the day plus guys like Byron or Rene would get better with commentary in that environment -
Im thinking about canceling My WWE network for a month or 2 before the end of the year so I can just focus on alot of this Houston footage, Im not that familiar with anything pre-WCW much less anything pre JCP tbs NWA era so this would be really enlightening for me. It would be great if he made it so we can costomize playlists of matches kinda like you can on Youtube
