in a way it reminds me of old SNME's with very little wrestling but with good hype to make you pay to see wrestling at WM
-
They did the old SNME intro with rapid fire cheesy promos with corny music playing in the background. I loved it but i've already read other boards and the fans who weren't around back then were saying it was lame and embarrassing. Not a good sign.

Wrestling thoughts that probably don't deserve

After watching SD tonight I have to say Vince's ego has reached new heights when they had Melina tease that she was going to masturbate to pictures of Vince in Muscle and Fitness. Because as we all know hot young chics pleasure themselves to pictures of orange 60 year old men -

I think I posted this before, but here a post from Meltzer at Wrestling Classics basically summarizing why 92 was doomed to fail financially.

you have to love the way WWE comes up with ways to bury Hardy. I'm assuming he's going to qualify for MITB. He has no chance in hell of going over. All he'll do is risk injury while taking big bumps for the other wrestlers while not getting over at all in the end

I was just thinking that maybe Austin only agreed to come back if they let JR return
-
Meltzer: I hope he made them give him a sweet deal. Vince always comes calling back

Fans Respecting wrestlers in the WWE
Strummer replied to Resident Evil's topic in NMB Wrestling Archive
If you look back, I would add Andre to the list. He was well respected by fans even after his heel turn. They were booing him but in a way it was out of respect and fear. Of course he lost the respect of smart fans during the 80s boom, but he generally was well thought of his entire career. -

Another thing, and I know smarks generally don't like to talk about this stuff, is the lack of character development. In 1997/98 they kept building Austin's character with what seemed like "throwaway" segments but were actually helping define his character. Hell they did the same thing with Snitsky and Heidenreich last year even if the premises were completely absurd. Say whay you want about the "lame" skits the WWF did in the 80s but they helped the fans identify with a certain character and their mannerisms. George Steele? Oh yeah he likes to eat turnbuckles. People remember that 20 years later. Brutus Beefcake? Oh yeah he cut hair. It really doesn't have to anything with in ring work, it's about creating unique and memorable characters. -

Stacy Keibler will be at the Oscars tonight. Apparently she was seen flirting with Jamie Foxx at a party last night. You know thinking back you could really see Stacy desperately wanted to go to Hollywood a few years back. Back in 03 when Rock came back she was made fun of for "acting like a mark" around him and being in awe of his success. I think she saw what the Rock did and wanted the same thing. -
source: MySpace.com -- Below is Marty Jannetty's explanation of why he will not be on RAW this coming Monday: OK, for my fans, family and friends, here is the situation....Due to travel restrictions I have as part of a probation agreement, I was denied travel this week to Birmingham, Alabama for Monday Night Raw. As you could or should imagine, this is a disaster for WWE as they now have to go back and rewrite a major portion of their show in which I was to be included in, and with less than 3 days notice. The fact that this could happen again at any given time my PO decides against me traveling, is good reason for WWE to be concerned in another major disaster especially with WrestleMania coming up. Could you imagine that 2 days before that show I'm told I can NOT go to Chicago. Please understand WWE's position, and believe in them as they have not closed the window of opportunity yet. We are working hard right now on getting all travel restrictions lifted. It is a good possibility that it will happen. If you really care and are concerned, believe me when I say, prayer works and is greatly needed and appreciated right now. I'm getting tons of e-mails from friends and fans hating Vince and the WWE right now. They are not at fault!!! And, they are supporting me on this, so no more hating on them, ok?? I thank all of you for your support, cares and concerns. I love you all!!! I do have a strong gut feeling everything is going to be fine!!!!
