Great to hear Will back after his partner flew the coup to work for the Fed, brother

Jason Powell said that WWE staffers have been told that they wouldnt get paid extra for WWE Network work. A situation similar to what happened in 1999 with Russo & Ferrera not being paid for writing Smackdown.

whoops

It is a bit Enron-y too.

It was a running joke on Paul's youtube channel. He took bottles to the bottle bank and said he earned more money. It is kind of hard not to portray Quackenbush as some entitled rich kid when talking about him. But the impression I get which is heck from everything Chikara does and communicates is that Quack is very well connected along with having a committed "staff" that comes from the hard working hustling DIY culture. Gabe in 2011 just seems to be a guy operating out of his suitcase/bedroom.

John no one is saying it is ok or Gabe is wrong for speaking out. Going strictly on this interview Gabe took no responsibility for his own strategic or creative mistakes. No mention was made of own background coming from the largest "analogue" Pro Wrestling pirate of its time. Then on the board he played a weird dishonest game trying to portray he started working for RF in 2001 when he is all over ECW fancams, shoot interviews etc.

Feinstein used share his Lamborghini with Axl, Guido and EZ Money, Keith.

Gabe goes into a detailed explanation about how pirating is hurting the business with specific examples of how it's caused them not to be able to run as many shows, pay the wrestlers as much, afford better buildings, etc.. Board response = Gabe's a bitter cry baby, boo hoo. Pretty hilarious to me Not going to pretend I don't pirate stuff too (not Evolve/DG since not a big fan but I DL lots of things in general) but i'm not delusional enough to not be able to see things from the othuper side as well. Look at the reasons people are giving DGUSA has had major booking, marketing and distribution issues. Gabe has owned to all these issues, mostly in other interviews. They are valid criticisms. Your initial post was fairly simplistic about the situation. For those who dont know Gabe is stuck in a real catch 22 situation with internet piracy as he pays relatively significant amount of money to get links taken down but on the other hand by taking down he kills most of the online buzz about his promotions. A very 2011 problem.

Not really

Not credible and muddied the super serious business of Pro Wrestling history. Not Dave Meltzer essentially despite having far more reach and influence on common or garden fans especially pre-internet.

Wouldnt mind outsourcing watching or downloading duties to someone.

The past two years have been pretty hectic for me time wise and financially doing a Master's, beginning an accountancy qualification and starting a graduate programme but still I feel desperately guilty about my set watching. I've been stuck on the NEW JAPAN! 80s set and the Death of WCW set. Good news for tape traders is that this month is the first month I am totally debt free and today is pay day! Still manage to barely keep on top of Raw is the only weekly show I watch on a regular basis. I watch two or three Smackdowns or Superstars in row when I have a spare morning or night. I fell about six months on NXT sadly and keep swearing to catch up. I watch all heavily pimped Indies and Puro. Like people have said as with procrastination the best cure is picking what you want done the just sitting down and doing it especially if your time is at a premium. A really bad habit I've picked up due live tweeting/posting Raw, PPVs etc is having the laptop open when watching on a TV or having a browser open when I am playing a DVD. Resulting probably not getting the benifit out of what I am watching than I would if I gave it my undivided attention.

I don't think so. To be blunt, F4WOnline.com a completely ineffective website in 2011. They've largely abandoned Dave's better known brand to the point it exists mainly as a forwarding domain and the name of a few pieces of content on the site. They first added "Share on [X social network]" buttons a few weeks ago. There is literally no search engine optimization, something that is of utmost importance to all sites nowadays. Until you see the internal stats, you don't realize how much traffic on wrestling sites comes from people searching for WWE, TNA, CM Punk, Jeff Hardy, etc. on Google News. They've largely been siphoning unique visitors for well over a year based on the public traffic estimating sites (which, in fairness, can be inaccurate but are the only gauge we have). They're too complacent and need to figure out that they need decent free content with good SEO to push the pay site further. 18 months ago they raised the price a dollar to employ Admin Tony FULL TIME

I don't think that explained the reference but Rob being a news item in the WON is fantastic. Yeah by that logic Art Donovan is going to be signed too.

Didnt Phil or Dylan or someone do a Money Mayweather Gordy list on DVDR once? Let's update that as this is what it has come to. Heck when is Sonnen going on the ballot.

Off the charts WTFness throughout: http://www.f4wonline.com/more/more-top-sto...of-chris-kanyon Staggeringly lack of self awareness in things like:

What is untrendy about what you listed? 80% of Shawn/Bret is profoundly boring few rate it even back in the day.

MMA is Pro Wrestling, Jerry. Have you watched MMA, Jerry?
-
The Lesnar vote will probably end up being a referendum of sorts on the Pro Wrestling = MMA view point.
-
Get with the times, Dylan. Any marketed and promoted conflict between two or more individuals ending in an athletic contest is Pro Wrestling. * * Except Kickboxing most of the time, Boxing or any other sport Dave doesnt have time to cover.

Did the Rock's movie success play a factor in his HOF induction? It's hard to say whether or not that was a factor with some voters. Having said that The Rock is an obvious HoF candidate no matter what. If he died in a fire, quit to sell insurance, moved to India to follow a guru, et he still would have been a slam dunk HoF candidate. It is possible that there were some people that voted for him because they thought he was good in Walking Tall, but I think there numbers would be small and I don't think anyone would point to that as the strength of his candidacy. With Brock his MMA numbers would be the strength of his candidacy. Without them he's got less of a case than Bill Goldberg. That's well explained Dylan as always but I was half referencing Dave on the radio show with Bruce & Bryan formulating a talking point of Brock as a drawing card in UFC drawing more wrestling fans to purchase Pay Per View than any other (full time) wrester in this era as a means of providing a case for his induction as a Pro Wrestler. How far can that logic stretch, you know? Then you have the fact Sakaraba is in due to the fluidity of MMA and Pro Wrestling had for a stint of time in Japan.

Did the Rock's movie success play a factor in his HOF induction? I had the same issue. I wish more was written about Doc's defining in ring moments and matches.

Not my Hall of Fame lads. The Hall of Fame itself has been around for a long time now and the arguments why certain acts are and arent in are as old as the hills. The Murdochs and Rock n Rolls are such yearly footballs of discussion I am just taken a back on a forum like this that someone doesnt know their status and the generalised reasoning they havent made it in. I should have said "really drew" not just simply "drew" in the previous post.

As they only drew in one major territory for a limited amount of time.
