The best part of the slo-mo of Jarrett's walk to the ring is the guy in the Alabama t-shirt just behind him. This is all stars and stripes and is to "America the Beautiful", because when we think of patriotism, we all think of Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett does a series of really American things -- play basketball with black kids, pet a dog, wear a suit and stand in front of a building and wrestle for the USWA.

Same video as the '92 Yearbook. Thankfully now that Slaughter's retired, Duggan's crippled, Smothers' flag is toast, and we've seen this video again, the rest of the year should be smooth sailing with regard to flag-waving stuff...

Jarrett with one of the Hanson brothers behind him. Looks similar to the ones from '92. Mixed in with patriotic clips. Awful. Can't imagine how this worked. Are those actual family clips or random people?

Since this is essentially the same video as we saw in '92, I'll repeat to the best of my ability what I said then: This video would have made some sense if Jeff had ever been pushed as a patriot, or if he was debuting for Vince or Turner and they wanted him to be an all-American babyface. But this is just the same old Jeff wrestling as usual for dear old Papa. He'll always be, at best, number two behind Lawler in the hearts of the Memphis fans, and he could slide up and down in a given week depending on who else is in the territory. If he needed a push as something new, they should have let him try out Double J the country singer as a babyface and see how that went. Probably not well, but at least it wouldn't have looked as desperate as this does.

Oh well, any excuse to hear Ray Charles is better than none, I suppose.
