Kevin Ridge
More sad then Warrior leaving WWF at the time. Jake seemed to have a lot more potential in WCW.
PeteF3
Watts with a surprisingly straightforward announcement about Jake. Some people in charge would have talked about how Sting beat Jake up in a parking lot and sent him running.
WingedEagle
Watts says Jake is out of WCW to deal with personal issues and Barbarian is taking his s place in King of Cable tourney. Real disappointing as there were a ton of potential for him in WCW following such a strong debut.
garretta
I'll bet that Watts talked the way he did out of respect for Grizzly Smith, Jake's dad, who was in the WCW offices at the time. Either that or his statement was "suggested" to him by Turner's corporate lawyers. I don't know why he just didn't go with the standard "He couldn't take the competition" line that he used for most of the wrestlers who left Mid-South. Granted, that kind of stuff was way outdated by now, but I doubt hat would have stopped him if that's what he wanted to say.
