Typical Hogan/Savage promo. Not much to it. But the Hogan Hotline commercial was glorious.

 

"It's got 8 incredible options, like Beat The Hulk, Hulk Trivia, and one of my great Hulk messages!"

 

There's no way Hogan realizes how desperate he came off to rape and pillage WCW at this point.

Sad to say that the only time I ever called a hotline, it was for the Hulk one although it was the WWF 1991 one. I can't remember much of it except Hulk blabbering on but my parents gave me this look afterwards of , "were not wasting our money on that shit ever again" so that was that.

Is this worse than the Hulk Hogan vitamins? That promos seemed like it lasted 10 minutes instead of 5.

Brother called WCW Hotline when he was 7-8 years old. Left the phone off the hook, wound up with a 200 dollar plus phone bill.

"Jimmy Hart my man, you squeaky little mouse..." What a friend Hulk is. Jimmy isn't as squeaky as Johnny Grunge, at least. Savage doesn't do anything except recite the names of the people involved in the main event. I'm happy for him that he was wrestling again, but Savage is already being wasted in this role. Hogan and Savage are the only things in WCW--nothing like coming out in the open and saying it. This is so, so, SO dated. Even Diesel and his '70s TV references seem more with the times.

I called the Hogan hotline in 1991 without permission. All I remember is some goofy "Wrestle the Hulk" challenge. I only rang up a 14 dollar bill, but at the time that was a ton of money for a 9 year old.
