Loss
Talk about it here.
Loss
SULLIVAN. SULLIVAN. Anyway, Sullivan says NO ONE can beat Hulk Hogan and he doesn't know what else to do. After a sudden burst of fire, Kevin Sullivan is wearing a red and yellow robe, has a face paint design and is called The Taskmaster. We see someone lurking in the shadows. Is that supposed to be Hogan spying? I couldn't tell. Pro wrestling.
Tim Evans
Kevin's mean face looks like he's trying not to bust a gut laughing. Just awful.
El-P
This is glorious. I don't know who the fuck thought it was a good idea, but if we're going into comic book territory, at least let's go full fledge. Yeah, Sullivan was just doing his best but you can feel he's not ¨really* into it. Just compare this with the awesome vignettes and promo he was doing in SMW a few years earlier. He was a trooper though. GIVE HIM THE BOOK NOW !
Loss
Sullivan has explained the DoD as nothing more than an attempt to give a gimmick to Hogan's jobbers so the matches would be more interesting. I understand that, but this is what he thought of? Kevin Sullivan had so many great ideas. Kevin Sullivan had so many awful ideas.
El-P
He wasn't booking at first when the Dungeon of Doom was created though, was he ? (in a way, it's not "that bad" when you think of them going the Hulk vs Monsters comic book way of presentation. I mean, it sure beats Da Butcher & Dave "I want to be a Hulkamaniac" Sullivan. Sure, it's goofy as hell, but as a pure cartoon character way to feeding Hogan...)
Loss
Kevin Sullivan tended to always have great input into his own stuff, no matter who was booking. Flair had the booker title at this point, but wasn't really getting anything he wanted at all because of resistance from Hogan and Savage. Sullivan took the booker title officially in July, but was sort of doing the job before that.
Zenjo
How did Curtis Iaukea get through the entire day of filming without losing his voice? He was so awesome in this series, and yeah I'm loving this shit.
PeteF3
What I wouldn't have given for a Bob Backlund-Curtis Iaukea Straight Shootin' DVD.
BruiserBrody
Based on his smiling TNT interview, Iaukea would be a good humored normal human being to listen to shoot the shit.
