Owen is much better when not doing promos in front of a live crowd. He probably had some good coaching here, but whatever he did, it worked. This is solid.

Watching this couldn't help but think about how when Bret starting doing promos he put sunglasses on to make it easier on himself. Owen follows suit here.

Pretty good promo by Owen here. I continue to enjoy this feud.

Least favorite promo by Owen so far but still very well done and he knew how to play this role well.

Owen plans to surpass everything Bret's done in one night, just by beating him.

I thought this was Owen's best promo since the turn. There was no whining about living in Bret's shadow, no talk about how Stu and Helen liked Bret (or anybody but Owen) best, just a simple promise to upstage Bret by beating him at Mania. He wasn;t even particularly heelish here, which may be a good thing since he needs to look like an adult and an equal to Bret instead of his whiny asshole of a kid brother in order to be taken seriously.

 

I liked the shades, but did Owen have to wear the wraparound kind like Bret does? Couldn't he have found an old-fashioned pair with stems? It's a nitpick, but Owen has to differentiate himself from Bret as much as possible between now and Mania.

The wraparounds were worth it for Owen approaching kids at the guardrail to hand them over, then snatching them away and tearing them up.

I didn't know he did that, Pete. This is the first time I've seen this footage in depth. In that case, complaint withdrawn.
