Mama Cornette has offered Dick Murdoch a lot of money to come back to SMW. For once, it wasn't Bush or Reagan on the line! Bob Armstrong should look in his car, his closet and his house to make sure Murdoch isn't there waiting to ambush him.

Murdoch is a pro and it is full on display here. I bet if Murdoch was still around today and cut a promo on the WO HOF voters on why he should be in he would be in. Just a classic heel promo and a nice piece of business.

Man, how funny would it have been to be a fly on the wall if Murdoch ever sat down to dinner with Regan and Bush? If they met today, it'd be three straight hours of talking about how Obama is ruining the country......

Actually, it proably wouldn't be that funny since I am able to hear that conversation whenever I have dinner with my parents or in-laws!

Did Mama Cornette ever make a live wrestling appearance in character?

I suspect that Mama Cornette and Maris Crane are the same person.

I love Murdoch treating Cornette as sort of a nephew--"don't be thinkin' about hurtin' that boy!"

Murdoch is the happiest man on the face of the earth because he didnt know Christmas would come around a second time so soon! He was sat at home in Texas the other day when his phone rang, and this time it wasnt George Bush or Ronald Reagan, it was Mama Cornette offering him a lot of money to come back to Smoky Mountain Wrestling. Shes paying him a tremendous amount to protect her little Jimmy and once he gives his word you can bank on it. He tells Bob Armstrong to look over his shoulder, look round the corner, under your car and in your closets as there is no way of telling where hes going to show up. He promised Mama Cornette that he was going to take care of Jimmy and make sure that nothing happens to him. Armstrong needs to get it out of his head about hurting him or laying a finger on him and hell see him in the very near future.

I know the purpose for bringing Murdoch back, but this feels like a retread so soon after Christmas Chaos. I'm really struggling with the whole Armstrong vs Cornette feud now, though don't think it'll be ending anytime soon.

Magnum's right; we really need Corny to find other people to go after Bullet Bob. It seems like we're stuck in a loop of the Funks and Murdoch, and while all three are fine choices, switiching things up would give SMW a real shot in the arm. How about Eddie Gilbert? Was Austin Idol still around? The pool of classic Southern heels was dwindling, but it wasn't quite dry at this time. All Corny needed was some imagination (which he definitely had) and a reasonably fat checkbook (which he didn't; that's probably why he's using the same guys over and over again).

The actual promo was good, and I want to see how Captain Redneck fares this time around, which means it did its job. I hope this is the last time we see this matchup for a while, though.
