Loss
Talk about it here.
Loss
Hogan is feeling better physically, but "emotionally and psychologically", he is still recovering. Perhaps he's embarrassed that a guy gently sitting on his chest sidelined him for the summer. Tugboat sends a message of thanks to fans for their cards and letters. Joking aside, this is a nice piece of hype that buys time and builds anticipation for Hogan's first appearance post-injury.
PeteF3
The latest on Hulk Hogan: he's feeling better physically. Did he get his ribs broken, or a busted sternum, or what? Give us some specifics here, Gene. Emotionally and mentally, however, he's a long way away. Tugboat does a phenomenally cheesy and over-the-top promo spot reading a Hulkamaniac's letter, encouraging us to keep writing and buying Hulk Hogan Friendship Bracelets. Wow, I vividly remember Tugboat reading the letter but do NOT remember him being that ridiculously perky about it. Maybe did more than one of these where he was sadder. Tugboat is pretty much a lost cause at this point.
soup23
I may or may not have written a letter to the Hulkster. I take great solace in the fact that Tugboat probably read it.
shoe
They really are milking Hulk's return. Sure it's hokey, but this is a nice piece of business.
Kevin Ridge
Hogan is feeling better but his emotional recovery will take a long time according to Gene. Tugboat reads one of the get well soon Hogan letters. I’m shedding a tear. Keep those letters coming. They interview some fans on whether Hogan should come back. Some nice hairstyles. garretta
I know we like to pick on Tugboat around here because he would be the Shockmaster later on and because he's Dusty's brother-in-law, but let's cut him a break. This was supposed to be a cheerful segment that told the little Hulksters that their hero was on his way back, so his mood fit perfectly. If anyone was the downer, it was Okerlund with the "mentally and emotionally, it's going to take time" stuff Anyone notice the address? P.O. Box 911 (which is universally known as the emergency number), Venice, CA (Hogan's worked hometown). Talk about not missing a trick when it comes to advertising. If only Vince had paid this much attention to marketing his other stars, maybe Warrior wouldn't have bombed so badly.
GSR
Gene Okerlund is still wearing his Hulk Hogan friendship bracelet, just like millions around the world are! He says that the Hulkster is feeling better physically, but emotionally and psychologically it’s going to take a lot of time. The cards and letters mean so much to him and they’ve a video from his protégé, Tugboat, to show some that he’s received. Tugboat thanks everyone who’s written a letter to the Hulkster, and it makes him feel so proud seeing the ‘big guy’ with a smile on his face after he read those letters. He’s in the gym pumping iron, taking his vitamins and saying his prayers. The guy that he’s always known is coming back and it’s because of all these people at home! He reads out a letter from a fan who loves the Hulkster, who cares about him, who is taking his vitamins every day and won’t take off his friendship bracelet until he returns. When he comes back to face Earthquake he’ll be there for him, just like Hulk Hogan has always been there for him. Tugboat says that it doesn’t matter if you’re a little Hulkamaniac or a great big one like him, they’re all on the same team so keep those cards and letters coming in! We then get some interviews from a few fans but it’s 50/50, with some wanting him to come back and get revenge on the Earthquake, but the others think he should retire so that he doesn’t get hurt any more. Gene gives us the address to send the letters to and says that there will be more on Hulk Hogan next week. This was a pretty cheesy piece and not a patch on the music video they did from the week before.
