Loss
Talk about it here.
Loss
The Rockers are really good at taking on bigger teams. Crush is even worse than Warlord, as Warlord could at least time his spots with the Rockers, while Crush is slightly off during this and they have to work around him. The match is still worth watching, as Smash is game when he's in, and Michaels and Jannetty are both in top form, and I do like a good switcheroo finish, but I do think it had the potential to be much better. After the match, the Hart Foundation come down to point out what happened and the Road Warriors eventually come out as well before Demolition bails. PeteF3
This was a disappointment especially in light of the POP match earlier, which may not be totally fair. Crush blows a lot of things, even his normally reliable tilt-a-whirl backbreaker, while Smash doesn't offer a lot besides ax-handlery. Ax as the outside man is honestly the best worker of the team. The Rockers themselves are fine but I can't call this one of their standout performances, either. I do like the finish which is maybe a bit Memphis heel-ish for what are supposed to be big bruising tough guys, but gets the advantage of having three men over. Ax's interference is protested by both the Harts and LOD, to no avail. Also, "A LOVE TAP??!" Vince's incredulous reaction cracked me up. Highlight of the match, hands down. soup23
The Love Tap freakout was best part of match. Crush was complete ass and added nothing. What the Rockers did was good bumping off of him and they salvaged at least a decent match.
shoe
I thought this was solid. Crush was really bad here.
Kevin Ridge
Ax sitting this one out as Crush tags instead. Crush levels Michaels with a clothesline. Ugly looking sunset flip by Marty on Crush. Ax gets involved with his own clothesline. Jesse repeatedly reminds Vince that Demolition only have two wrestling in match. Crush with the power moves. Always liked his tilt a whirl backbreaker. Jannetty does the Bret chest bump into the turnbuckle. Rockers real close to getting the pinfall but Ax gets involved. Hart Foundation and LOD both come down to complain about the finish. Rockers deserved a tag title run.
aethelred
This match was enjoyable but it's all down to the Rockers. Quite a poor performance from Demolition actually.
garretta
I really don't get the Crush hate. He wasn't silky smooth, granted, but he was no worse than either Smash or Ax was in this style. We've seen both Barry Darsow and Bill Eadie work a hell of a lot better matches than this in other personas, but clubbering and power moves are all you need out of the Demos. Give Adams time to master the style and he'll be fine. The Rockers were at their best here. I don't exactly know why Vince went back to the Harts as champions and killed Bret's singles push to do it, but it wouldn't have been a bad idea to put the Rockers in their place at SummerSlam. Of course, it would have all gone for naught with Shawn getting hurt, and they'd have probably had to sub in the Harts anyway unless they wanted the LOD to get the belts early. Vince and Jesse's act was a bit tiresome by now, but here it served the purpose of getting over the advantages of the three-man Demolition team. Vince went a little far, sometimes even criticizing legal moves and tags from the Demos, but that was par for the course with him, as his slide downhill as an announcer had already started. I liked Jesse tacitly admitting that the Demos' win was illegal, but saying in so many words, "Live with it!" More heel announcers needed to do that, at least occasionally. From the Poor Stupid Babyfaces Dept: If you know your opponents are using "Freebird rules" to get a third man on their team, why don't you add your own third man to make things even instead of crying to the referees about how unfair your opponents are? drew wardlaw
There was a scary sunset flip that Jannetty hits on crush. Outside of that, I don't know, this was okay. Was it Demolition that had that good match against the Rockers earlier in the year? I can't remember, but that was better than this one. Still though, The Rockers looked good and had some good double team moves, I didn't think Crush was awful, just kind of off.
Beast
This isn't anything special, but is another example of a decent 80's/90's tag match that people would be freaking out over if The Revival aped spots from today. Not to totally knock them, but it's a shame we don't see as many of these types of matches anymore.
