Dusty is better than he really has any right to be. Give him something to talk about, and he can talk. He actually made me interested in this feud.

Dusty is bedecked in a polka-dotted jazz funeral outfit. Spectacular. They actually give Dusty time here, instead of a quick soundbite smothered with canned noise.

 

"You have paid the price for Dusty Rhodes, and that price is gonna be...that PRICE is gonna be...THAT PRICE IS GONNA BE PURE, HELL BAY-BEE."

 

Every bit as good as "It's gonna be SHAAAMEFUL" from when Baby Doll turned on him. The storyline isn't much but Dusty's mouth can carry just about anything.

I have no idea what Dust is wearing but this is a hell of a promo.

Thought that was Papa Shango. Dusty again states that he can never be bought. The price DiBiase will be pure pain. I liked the Savage feud more but Dusty can still talk it up.

Another tremendous Crockett-style promo from Dusty.

 

I wonder if the whole Sapphire being bought thing was his own idea, because he's turned things up to a level that we haven't seen from him in the WWF. Even though he's eventually going to lose this feud in the ring, he's showing that he's got more than enough life left in his mouth. It's a shame there wasn't more of a call for babyface managers, because he'd have been perfect in that role for either one of the Big Two.

Wow another fired up Dusty promo. Is this the first time he's really passionate and angry in his WWF run? I'm on board for him vs. Ted.

Gene Okerlund is joined by Dusty Rhodes, and no more yellow polka dots for the Dream. Its red polka dotted poncho and a top hat, to which Bobby Heenan quips ‘nice garb!’ Gene says at Summerslam, what the Million Dollar Man has been saying all along was true, and that is that everybody has a price. Dusty says on that hot August night at Summerslam he felt humiliation, rejection and betrayal when he saw Sapphire standing with the Million Dollar Man, and saw what dirty money can buy. Confusion reigned in his mind, but now he’s steady and knows what has to be done. The American Dream cannot, will not and never will be bought, to which Heenan chimes in ‘who’s want him?’ He’s paid the price for Dusty Rhodes, and that price is going to be pure hell!

 

I shouldn’t care one iota about Ted Dibiase buying Sapphire, but just like the interviews in his feud with Randy Savage, the Dream hooks you in again. Good stuff from him here and an outfit change for the better!

Dusty delivers big again with a promo. And you know, Dusty vs. Ted doesn't sound like a bad matchup in-ring at all. Even without the great promos involved.
