B. Brian Blair throws a few insults at Dan Spivey, claiming he hasn't been as successful as Sid Vicious. Spivey responds by throwing water on him in a short and lame segment.

Always a brilliant idea to outright say that your talent isn't as successful as comparable talent in the other promotion.

Personal shots taken between Blair and Spivey who then snaps and beats up Blair. They managed to make each other look minor league.

How else are you going to build up a feud between two guys like this? They have no real reason to be rivals or interact otherwise. Maybe you could say that the Killer Bees were better than Rotundo and Spivey in the WWF, but that's about it. If I remember correctly, Abrams didn't crown his first singles champion for several months, so they didn't even have a belt to contend for yet.

 

It's a new promotion, guys. Let's let the dust settle for a week or two before we start calling things lame.

I don't know, I didn't think this was that bad. It was kind of budget looking, but whatever, it's a cheap tactic to set up a match. I'm okay with it.

This was not great. But as mentioned above, if there are no belts what else are you going to use to set things up? I do agree that basically calling your guy a chump in relation to some other promotion's guy is probably not the best idea.
