Even though they've been feuding for months, I think the Lawler/Gilbert match has never felt more fresh than it does right now. He hypes an upcoming coward waves the flag match against Jeff Jarrett. Great, great interview.

Gilbert is on the short list for promo man of the year. I honestly think they're rushing into the barbed wire match, and it's been my one constant complaint about this feud--sometimes they draw things out slowly and then one week just completely bombard us with all kinds of crazy stuff. They could run 2 weeks of "straight" Lawler/Gilbert matches while Funk is in Japan before going to the crazy stips.

Gilbert vs. Jarrett coward waves the flag sounds awesome too. Craig's sweater was hideous here. Gilbert does another amazing promo.

Eddie plugs a match with Jarrett where the second has to wave a flag for their man to lose. Similar to towel match. Flag is nice cause it makes for a better visual of your second having to wave it front of everyone.

This is a side we don't often see of Eddie in promos: serious, gritty, and determined. There's a bit of bragging, but no flash whatsoever, and it's very compelling. I definitely want to see the Jarrett/Gilbert "coward waves the flag" match now, because I absolutely believe that Eddie's crazy enough to instruct his second not to wave it under any circumstances. An absolutely amazing promo in a run that's chock full of them.

I'm all for Eddie as promo man of the year. He's been killing it since he got back to Memphis.
