Loss
Nash and Syxx do their famous "road full of potholes" promo shooting on Flair and Piper to hype Slamboree. Syxx points out that Flair stole his entire gimmick from Buddy Rogers. Nash cuts the best promo of his career, although considering his future career trajectory he might as well have been talking about himself. Still, this is the Nash we needed to get all the time. Kevin Ridge
Wow. Nash talks about how Piper said his generation paved the way for the younger guys. Nash disagrees and feels the older wrestlers took everything, stripped the business and were too busy putting their sons in the top positions. Interesting stuff. He refers to them as the “New Generation”.
soup23
In some ways seeing the promo by nash here, you can see how both WWF and WCW later on tried to get behind him as the man. This was fabulous work as everyone unimportant stayed out of the way and let Syxx and Nash spotlight themselves to hype Slamboree. I should have mentioned this in Mysterio vs. Syxx but Tony also mentions that Ray Traylor and VK wallstreet are no longer NWO or something. El-P
First off, why the fuck are Vince, Norton, Bagwell and fake Sting in the ring anyway. Second, I love the fact that 38 year old Nash refered to himself as a young lion. And I just realized I reached the same age, and I certainly don't feel like a young lion. Anyway, Waltman cut an excellent promo and Nash simply cut a money promo. Too bad half of it was basically a babyface promo. But it was still great and probably heartfelt. I got a kick out of him saying that back in the days in WCW he was still pretty *green*. Terrific segment, right out of he best of ECW's Shane Douglas material, with still a problematic aspect of it being too much babyface-like (especially the bits about traveling coach and sharing rental cars). Damn, WCW was still steamrolling despite the few missteps here and there.
PeteF3
Yeah, that was probably Waltman's best promo, too. Nash calls out Piper for being scatterbrained and then calls out Flair for stripmining the business for himself and the pushes of various sons instead of everyone else. The hypocrisy-in-hindsight is pretty hilarious and this is a total babyface promo, but I like the fire and seriousness that Nash is bringing for once.
