Raven finally breaks his silence. Gene's facial expressions when Raven is speaking his gibberish crack me up. I am laughing even more because I used the word "gibberish" before Gene did (well, not chronologically, but you know what I mean).

 

Stevie says Raven should share the announcement tomorrow on Nitro and Raven beats him up.

This was a blast. Gene starts off saying he isn’t aware of Raven being a part of WCW but the skeptic in me thinks he’s probably already hawked Raven’s arrival on the WCW hotline. Okerlund does his pondering facials when he tries to put over someone’s promo as deep in thought.

Gene clowning on Tenay was the highlight of this for me. I think they did announce that Hennig was DDP's partner ahead of time (may be wrong on that) but it felt pretty anticlimatic on what purpose Raven served them.

Yeah, Gene could be great still. "Alan Poe gibberish" indeed. Raven backslaps poor Stevie. Raven was the greatest passive-agressive character ever.

Every Raven ECW promo would be improved about 2000% if they also involved Gene Okerlund. That was tremendous. Richards encourages Raven to talk about an announcement tomorrow on Nitro and gets smacked again.
