Hogan and Savage are out, Savage in a neckbrace from the big angle last week. Bischoff plugs Assault On Devil's Island. He encourages fans (in an indirect way) to sneak signs for this into RAW. Heh. He says Piper is out of control. Hogan promises that DDP and Piper will be assaulted before night's end.

Was this the promo that had Hogan saying, "I'll be sitting next to Ted Turner at the Oscars" in reference to Assault on Devil's Island? That line still makes me laugh and my dad still references it to this day.

I’m going to be paying close attention to WWF shows to see signs for Assault on Devil’s Island in the crowd. Hogan again talks about being the Icon of professional wrestling. Savage with neck brace didn’t say anything.

Really liked how cohesive Macho and Hogan have been and miss that. Feels like they should have been the two vs. the Wolfpack in 1998 if they were going to do a split. This is a good promo to give a hook for the rest of the show that an attack on Piper and DDP will occur.

That was a hoot. Bischoff really was overconfident at this point, he shouldn't encourage people to go watch red hot DX and Steve Austin.

Savage is sullen and pouty in a neckbrace, still selling the Diamond Cutter from the previous week. In a clever bit of continuity, Piper still has Hogan's title belt after using it to clear the ring the previous week. Hogan vows vengeance on Piper and DDP. All in all a fun segment, but we now have top heels on both shows constantly crowing about how much money they draw in comparison to their opponents, which has never been something I found particularly compelling as a wrestling storyline.
