Loss
Talk about it here.
soup23
I would be curious to see how many Thunder appearances Hogan made over the years. This starts out as NWO theme music and segues itself into Bischoff's theme and eventually Hendrix. Hogan and Bischoff give a generic promo saying that the tape from Starrcade will show that Hogan did indeed get the 3-count on Sting and is the rightful heavyweight champion. Hogan and Bischoff are still getting some heat and we are only 10 days removed from Starrcade, but it does feel like some luster is lost and Starrcade 97 should have even more been the end game to the main NWO storyline arc. Kevin Ridge
Hogan has some fun with mimicking Nick Patrick’s count from Starrcade. Bischoff proclaims Hogan to still be World Heavyweight champion. Hogan steals Bret Hart’s line to try make sure he is the greatest and not Flair or Hart. Hogan mentions he just just too damn tanned and poses.
Loss
The announcers are talking about problems in the NWO, but they are booking a breakup with more of a slow build. I don't think WCW realized how imperative it was to move on from the NWO and go for a new direction at this point, because instead of taking a new direction, they just doubled down on it. I like Hogan's undeserved gloating here, but it was near the time for yet another reinvention.
PeteF3
A split in the NWO was due by this point, but yes, they're hedging their bets too much. Hogan's creative control was always going to be an issue no matter what, but in an ideal world he easily could have been occupied by a MegaPowers vs. Outsiders feud for a good six months, while we get the theoretical ultimate dream rivalry between Sting and Bret, co-headlining shows. TravJ1979
After a loss, Hogan sure is determined to bury and undermine anything to make sure he stays on top. He mocks Bret's catchphrase oh so subtly, mimics a slow three count ad nauseam to beat it into our heads that he didn't really lose and obnoxiously praises himself. RATING: Maximum Insecurity
