soup23 Posted July 28, 2014 Report Posted July 28, 2014 Douglas gives a promo trying to explain the turn and it still makes no sense to me. He seems like the one that has the issue with Taz, not Bigelow who has the PPV main event coming up. In fact, Bigelow doesn't even speak in this promo so he has been phased out. Candido gives an excitable promo giving a rant to how gullible and stupid Storm was. I didn't dig this at all either. Quote
Migs Posted August 10, 2014 Report Posted August 10, 2014 I love Douglas' hat here. A decent Douglas promo, but not his best. Quote
Loss Posted August 13, 2014 Author Report Posted August 13, 2014 I actually really liked Douglas's promo. I agree that a sound explanation for the turn is missing but I do think Shane was excellent in his delivery, stupid focus on insider terms aside. The longest evil laugh ever at the end? Quote
PeteF3 Posted April 25, 2016 Report Posted April 25, 2016 Like the vast majority of Shane Douglas promos, this has enough false finishes that it feels like an overindulgent ROH match, or Dudley Moore parodying Beethoven. Still a decent one, and Candido's around to keep Douglas grounded and this from getting too self-serious. I think the explanation for all this was *supposed* to be that Rick Rude was the guy who turned Bigelow against the Triple Threat, and he's no longer there to hold any influence over Bam Bam. It's the best I've got. Quote
TravJ1979 Posted June 7, 2016 Report Posted June 7, 2016 This was like Oprah, but instead of telling everyone they get a car, everyone is some type of mark. I loved Douglas at this time and thought all the semi-shoot stuff was something only smart marks like me got. Looking back, I was stupid. Quote
