Loss
Talk about it here.
soup23
Hogan is on Thunder a shit ton more than is presented in history at least in the early going. Bischoff says that the NWO is declaring war on everyone on WCW. This really is starting to feel like a NWO promo from 1996 and probably not what they should have been focused on this late in the game. Hogan calls Hart a coward and is the #1 man on the B's hit list. Macho gets called out as well and here he comes. Again, this stuff with Macho vs. Hogan in a vaccum is pretty good but the biggest rematch in the history of our sport is 10 days away and Hogan and Macho are arguing like a married couple on who is going to do the dishes. Hogan apologizes and sets up a tag match for later with Megapowers vs. Sting/Luger. Hogan wants Macho to apologize as well. He says I'm sorry and then attacks Bischoff and Hogan. Really looks like Macho in the NWO is no more.
Migs
Savage was phenomenal here, and this was a good use of Hogan's character at this point.
Loss
What made the NWO work is just gone at this point. They are so entrenched. The announcers don't have any fear when Hogan and Bischoff come out; in fact, they are now treating their very presence as something routine. The NWO has no gold at the moment and it's not really presented as a big enough deal to threaten their livelihood. This seems like an attempt to re-establish the NWO as "taking over" WCW and that's the worst turn they could take with this at this point. There is no reason for the NWO to continue as such a strong focal point by this time. Hogan asks Savage to come out and says that an apology is necessary, and wants to reconcile. Hogan/Savage vs Luger/Sting is made for Monday night. Hogan insists that Savage thank Bischoff for making that match happen and says he's sorry ... for putting so much faith in Savage. He then demands an apology from Savage, who surprisingly obliges before decking Hogan and Bischoff both! Hogan comes back in with a chair but Savage bails. PeteF3
This was a good segment once the opening formalities were out of the way--Hogan calling out Bret Hart for the first time doesn't get anywhere NEAR the reaction it would have a month earlier. Go figure. Still, Hogan pretending that he was going to apologize to Savage only to turn it around and say that Randy owed *him* one was pretty good, as was Savage's reaction. Looks like Randy is pretty much a babyface again...and yet he and Hogan are scheduled to be partners on Nitro. Intrigue!
TravJ1979
Fun Savage stuff, but bored by this already and can't wait for it to be over.
