Loss
Talk about it here.
soup23
Stone Cold University shirt has made its debut. Austin is pissed that Vince called Tyson unquestionably the baddest man on the planet. We are starting to get serious teases and what is to come after Mania. Austin is going to sit in the ring for the entirety of the show unless Vince comes out there and they settle their differences. Ross pleads with Austin and Austin has some words for him. Instead of vince, we get Brisco and Lanza. Slaughter tries his hand and gets berated. Brisco tells Vince backstage that the show wont proceed unless he comes out there. Patterson receives the same fate as the others. Vince in his snaggy jacket emerges and says that baddest man on the planet is just a figure of speech. Austin flicks him off and says that is a figure of speech too. Vince basically admits that he doesnt want Stone Cold to be the WWF Champion. Austin tries to goad Vince into hitting him. Austin counts down from ten and VInce leaves the ring. Austin has some threats for Michaels. Electric segment setting the table for so much of the future.
Zenjo
Interesting that they had an Austin vs McMahon segment that had little to do with the upcoming Wrestlemania match. Clearly they were thinking ahead and laying the groundwork for what was to come in the next few months. Really good booking and a red hot confrontation. Loss
Austin insists that Vince come out over referring to Mike Tyson as the "baddest man on the planet" the previous week on RAW. Instead, he gets Gerald Brisco and Jack Lanza. They try to reason with him, but no dice. Slaughter is next and Austin has no use for him either. We cut to Vince in the back, who is refusing to confront Austin. I see Vince Russo is copying Randy Savage's return to Nitro in 1997. Patterson and security are next and still, nothing. Finally, Vince is out with his full entourage in tow. Check out that jacket! Vince calmly explains that "baddest man on the planet" is a figure of speech and Austin responds by flipping him off, which Vince sells great. Austin tries to get Vince to admit that he doesn't want him to be WWF champ and Vince is not willing to do anything of the sort. Austin is willing to give Vince one free shot and even rips his blazer in an attempt to provoke him. Vince won't take the bait, so Austin throws him out of the ring. Great segment, but Austin really was overreacting and was a total asshole.
PeteF3
Austin was an asshole, but it almost seemed by design, since even Ross and Kelly were calling him out for his behavior. And while it's not a major focus of the segment, Austin states toward the end that he thinks Vince set him up and knew that Michaels & Tyson were in cahoots--which may or may not be true, but if it is, then he has a lot more reason to be pissed off. Austin closes it out with a strong promo hyping WM14 and also threatening Triple H. A good promise of what's to come--it's becoming more and more clear that Vince does not want Austin to be the WWF Champion, a position that would be outright stated in the coming weeks. TravJ1979
Austin can do no wrong in the eyes of the fans. Segment goes a little long, but it was enjoyable.
