soup23 Posted August 13, 2014 Report Posted August 13, 2014 Another stunning piece of hype about this match. We get Shawn's WWF career plight and it does a great job of showing Shawn's attitude even in moments where he was a face. We get some clips of Shawn on talk shows and tons of dancing. We see his DX antics and then it ends in putting over how dangerous SCM is. What a great video package and something that doesn't get talked about nearly enough.
Loss Posted August 19, 2014 Author Report Posted August 19, 2014 Wow, this was classic - one of the best wrestling video packages I think I've ever seen. This is an awesome way to present Shawn not just as the top heel, but as a sort of complex, multi-dimensional guy who always brings it to the big stage.
Childs Posted August 20, 2014 Report Posted August 20, 2014 Fantastic stuff, and the contrast between these build-up videos and the unfocused horseshit in WCW could not be sharper. Nobody's ever been better than Vince and Co. at this kind of thing.
PeteF3 Posted May 11, 2016 Report Posted May 11, 2016 Yep, WCW couldn't have put anything like this together in a million years. Even if they had the creative chops, they didn't have the technical expertise to execute the vision. The WWF takes advantage of an unopposed night to put together a LOOONG video package detailing almost all of Michaels' singles career and getting him over as a guy who won't stay down even if you shoot him point-blank.
TravJ1979 Posted June 27, 2016 Report Posted June 27, 2016 From hot, dog shit PPV finale in WCW to an excellent promo video for the top heel of WWE. great piece.
TonyPulis'Cap Posted July 11, 2016 Report Posted July 11, 2016 Wow, this was classic - one of the best wrestling video packages I think I've ever seen. This is an awesome way to present Shawn not just as the top heel, but as a sort of complex, multi-dimensional guy who always brings it to the big stage. Sums things up perfectly. I still get goose bumps watching this video - it absolutely definitively sums up Shawn in a 5 minute package, really getting to the bottom of the characters motivation and personality. The HBK of the build to Wrestlemania XIV is so strong, with a lot of the more juvenile DX antics getting dropped for a serious, egotistical but also desparate champion, that in every sense can see a new era coming and that is clinging onto his spot with everything in his power. Brilliant stuff.
