Lawler continues his feud with Hales, but I still think he's being a jerk for no real reason. Is he trying to copy Austin's edginess, thinking that's en vogue? They cut away to a promo with Kane and Paul Bearer. I like how they are tying in the private conversation gone wrong on RAW to this feud. Haha, Downtown Bruno is taking on the Patterson/Brisco role. When Lawler calls Hales out, Bruno comes out and says Hales is busy and doesn't have time to respond to all of these "Tom, Dick and Harry" requests, so Lawler gives him a piledriver in the ring. The poor man's Austin-McMahon indeed.

I don't know why i blanked on the uncut convo gone wrong tie-in but that is brilliant. I agree that the Hales feud hasn't been good so far and it feels like a desperate promotion trying to cash in on a popular thing that is happening in wrestling in 1998.

I thought it was funny that Lawler basically said in the promo it was a knockoff of Austin vs. Vince. Needless to say, Hales was no Vince.

Man, Lawler is whiny here. He can't do any wrong with the studio audience, but I don't think Corey Macklin really earned Lawler's wrath for being skeptical of his chances. The stuff with Kane and Paul Bearer is much better. Corey is AGHAST at Lawler's treatment of Downtown Bruno and I can't say that I blame him. Re-dickiless, indeed.
