Last few minutes. That video package is awful. Bischoff restarted the match? What authority does he have to do that? DDP made the chairshot ricochet look great, as I've seen that spot look really stupid when poorly executed. Nash wins the WCW World Title.

That opening video was amazing. Match wasn't much but the video was worth it.

Holy shit was the opening awful. Nash wins the belt because of course he does. No reason why Sting shouldnt have held the belt if this was the end result. WCW showed some slight promise but now has very few things that are redeeming.

The opening video package was hilarious.

 

Poor DDP he certainly tried, but Kevin Nash was just too big of a load for him to carry. Nash's standard offense just seems so rote. Nash just never kicks ass. DDP working the legs was not the right route for this match or this crowd. Savage interferes and ref calls for DQ. Bischoff says this match must have a winner. The finish stretch has no heat and is pretty lame. If Kevin Nash had a match with Roddy Piper in this time period, I think the worst match in wrestling history would have been born.

I should point out that not every pre-match hype video or PPV introduction in the history of WCW was complete shit.

 

Some were average.

 

Nash becomes champion. Oh joy.

That hype video was almost laugh-out-loud funny. Basically it's R.E.M.'s music video for "Bang and Blame" with the band subbed out for action shots, alongside hilariously random pictures of the two interspersed. I guess this is what you have to do when there isn't any actual story to tell.

 

Bischoff is still making executive decisions for some inexplicable reason. But the ends justify the means: Nash the booker, over his own objections, selflessly gives in to the demands, letters, calls, and telegrams from the fans insisting that he be made WCW World champion.
