What we get of the match is pretty good, with Johnny Smith working really hard. Fun combination of wrestlers, all of whom I like. I wish this was available in full.

I don't know what to make of Johnny Smith. His offense here has too much of an exhibition feel, like he's influenced by so many things that he has no real style of his own.

I haven't seen much Johnny Smith but he looked good here. Just how long was Shinzaki in All Japan? Decent action shown.

Johnny Smith busted out a ton of creative offense with Powerbombs and a gorgeous German on Ogawa. Ogawa upped his game offensively too and the final stretch here was really fun showcasing the middle card of AJ around this point. 99 may have not delivered the top tier main events other AJ years have, but the roster does look solid currently moving forward.

I get the point about Smith almost flashing *too much* offense, but man did it look good. With these guys and No Fear getting a big push, the AJPW mid-card does seem to be solidfying.
